Saban to Cowboys??

Lets assume that the Tide wins the National Title this year (which isn’t a reach) and The Cowboys don’t make the playoffs (which isn’t a reach either 0-2) and Jerry “I always get what I want” Jones calls Saban and makes him a ridiculous offer (again, not a reach)…  First thought is that Saban couldn’t work for a guy like Jerry.  Saban would need complete control, kind of like he has at Bama (might as well be the AD, Board of Trustees, and the President).   And I would agree with this thought unless Jerry gives up some control on the GM front.  This would be the furthest reach in this hypothetical, so humor me and lets say that JJ does this.  Would a 5 year 35 Million dollar with all GM duties get Saban to America’s team?   If not, then what would?  And before you Bamars start telling me how happy he is at UA – Saban is a whore.  He has broken every single contract he has ever had.  He would screw his mother for the right deal so don’t give me any of that garbage.

  1. First, I completely agree with the fact that Saban is not an alabama lifer. He wins the national championship this year he's gone. He'll move onto another program to show the world that he can do it again, however, that being said. I don't think there is a chance in hell that he'll ever return to the NFL. The reason he is effective as a coach is that he goes all out to be a total d-bag to these kids and intimidates them into playing well. He actually has a rule that when his office door is open that no player is allowed to walk past it so these kids have to walk all the way around the building to get to their cars just because coach says so. He tryed to implement this same rule in Miami and when the first player broke it and Nick jumped there ass, what do you think happened? They told him to go fuck himself. You don't tell a grown ass man worth 70 million that he has to take the long way around because you don't want people walking by your door.

This method just won't work in the NFL. He needs kids to be afraid of him and he found out the hard way that he will never be more than a college coach.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure Nick Saban is the anti-christ as I just can't trust a football coach that doesn't have a southern accent.

    That's my take

  2. nicely put Russ - But I disagree with the NFL being TOTALLY out of the question. I don't think he likes to fail and his coaching style isnt a whole lot different than his buddy belichick who also has some pretty stupid rules but he seems to be doing pretty good.
