Play by Play

Earlier this year I did a post about how I was planning on earning my press credentials so I could have a good parking spot and get back stage for Bamajam next year – I spoke with the guy from the local paper about taking some pictures for him and I also spoke with the guy from the TV network about doing anything for them, for free of course.  He mentioned a blue grass festival coming later in the year and that he may be able to get me to do interviews with the people.  I was like, SWEET!  This morning I spoke with him and it  that I may be making my play by play debut..  That’s right, play by play for an entire high school football game.  He has a color guy, local high school player, but may need a play by play for the TV broadcast.  May never happen, but it could happen as early as tomorrow night.

I am already preparing just in case I get the call (which is doubtful) but need some tag lines for big plays..  You know, Like “we just stepped on their face with a hob nail boot and broke their noses!” – Munson

  3. Joe that is awesome for you, but no way in hell do I give you a live mike(mic).

I can hear it now, "TJ Rucker takes the pitch to the outside and gets fucking hammered by their linebacker". You wouldn't even know you cussed. That's just the Schell in you.

If you do happen to get this gig, I'd say do it like Terry Greer used to do it. Give the players nicknames like "Big Bad" Brad Parham or John "The Truck" Thrift.

You could also do it like the Jefferson Pilot black dude calling people cave men and saying the got run over by a truck stick.
