Picks o the week!!

Sorry boys not titties or Mike Gundy(great dance moves though) this week, just winners.

Dawgs/Miss St Over 53

Arizona +12.5 at USC

Clemson +7 @ Blacksburg

Notre Dame -11.5 @ Purdue

One game just to watch. My theory is when two option teams get together always go with the under. Navy/Air Force O/U 53

I'll make up for the lack of meat and tit tays next week, I promise.

My Favorite Hank Jr. Song

One of the all time best

Cod Locks and some tits

My Cod Locks.

I wrote earlier in the Week that I think Alabama is the best team in the Nation and I think they over power a good Florida team – at night – in the Swamp.  Bama –3 1/2

bama

I don’t think South Carolina is AS good as some are giving them credit for being but I do believe that Marcus Latimore is the best RB in the SEC and Auburn’s Def is the worst in the SEC (maybe nation – they rank in the bottom 117-120 in just about ever category).  Ill take the Game Cocks at home to win by at least 2 TD’s.  So Carolina –10

socar (is this not one of the best South Carolina pictures you have ever seen?)

I watched Middle Tennessee State play last week in Troy and they are a decent football team.  They make enough big plays to beat who I think is the worst team in College football, Memphis by at least 4 TD’s / 42-14.  MTSU –22 1/2

mtsu(not much to choose from on the MTSU pics)

and I know you many of you don’t like NASCAR but we are in the Chase and I wanted to put a checker flag up just to remind you guys that we are coming down the stretch of another great nascar season.

Happy Friday People!

Blonde-with-enourmous-big-tits

I kind of like the 49ers +9 this weekend also and I’m picking them for my pro pick but it’s not a Cod Lock – still good enough reason to post a good 49er picture.

Alabama

I think Alabama is the best team in the Nation – I think you have to put LSU at #1 in the polls based off games thus far.  (@starkville, in Dallas, @MorganTown – all wins) But watching Alabama and Watching LSU, I believe that Alabama is the best team in the Nation and will win the National Title this year.

My only concern with them is the 1st and goal at the 1 against Arky and they couldn’t punch it in with 3 straight running plays.  That isn’t Alabama football.  Normally, you give Bama the ball inside the 5 and they are going to run the ball behind one of the many 1st round draft pick O-Line men and get 2-3 yards guaranteed.  That isn’t the case, at least right now.   This could have something to do with the fact that Joe Pendry isn’t in T-town anymore and the guy that took his place has had a couple of distractions (see University of Miami scandal).  But I believe that the play action is working so good that it will give the O-line time to mature and get better.

I believe that this is one of the best Defenses we will be able to watch in several years and I am going to take advantage of it.   To many times we don’t sit back appreciate a really good thing when we have it and I don’t plan on missing this Alabama Defense.  Just watch them.  Every man is in the perfect spot.  No arm tackles.  No missed chances at a interception.   I don’t think they have the ‘Coach on the Field’ type guy that they had in Rolando McLain, but I think we will see someone step up more and more as we get deeper into the season.

I do think this weekend in the swamp would be a perfect chance of a team coming off a big home win to slide into the Swamp and let their guard down but I just don’t see this team fucking up.

Alabama will win the rest of their ball games and they will be able to do it even if they only score 17 points.

Ranking the SEC top to bottom

Thought it would be interesting to rank the SEC teams top to bottom without worrying about divisions. So here is my early assessment....

#1 - LSU - I felt from the beginning of the year that LSU should be the number one team in the country. Then all of the Jefferson drama unfolded. But now after 3-4 games have been played, I'm back at the same conclusion.

#2 - Alabama - I now feel as though they are a little better than I felt last week. I still have questions about their offense, but man is that defense and special teams good.

#3 - UGA - I know I will take heat for this, but I am just basing it on what I have seen. Anyone who watched the GA/SC game knows that Georgia beat SC all over the field that night. Even Spurrier said so. I think in the end, UGA will represent the East, however, I do feel there is a sizable drop off from #2 to #3.

#4 - Florida - Muschamp is an animated head coach, I'll give him that. The team is good, with a lot of speed and talent. Brantly just doesn't do it for me though. We'll know more about this team after this Saturday.

#5 - South Carolina - I'm not sure about this team. They have all of the talent in the world on offense, but something is just not clicking. UGA should have beat them, Navy could have beat them. I think they'll lose 3 games this year and wonder what happened. Alshon Jefferey has been pretty much a non factor this season. We'll see if Spurrier can get him going.

#6 - Arkansas - Alabama quieted a lot of people talking about Arkansas' offense Saturday. I think they have a good Cotton Bowl quality team, but that's it. They'll have another tough game Saturday with A&M.

#7 - Tennessee - This team has surprised me a little. Dooley has the offense looking good. I still think they are a few players away. Lane Kiffin really tore this program a new one. Losing Justin Hunter will cost the Vols an extra loss or two throughout the season.

#8 - Mississippi State - Dan Mullen has turned this program back into a winner. I'm surprised Auburn beat them and I think it took some wind from their sails, but by seasons end, they will be bowl eligible which is pretty good playing in the SEC West.

#9 - Auburn - My how the mighty have fallen. No Cam Newton has proved to be more than the Tigers could handle. Most expected this team to fall off but I don't think anyone expected how bad the season started. Yes they got the win in the opener and beat Miss. St. but I think its all downhill from here on out. They'll rebuild and be back as a contender in a couple of years.

#10 - Vanderbilt - Vandy is playing some good ball this year. I don't know much about them but they are playing a good defense and forcing a lot of turnovers. But, its still Vandy and they'll find a way to lose a lot of games.

#11 - Mississippi - Houston Nutt is a lame duck coach at this point. I think his players played a lot harder the last game, but not enough to save Nutt his job. I look for them to beat Fresno State this week, then take a pounding as the SEC West comes calling.

#12 - Kentucky - When's basketball season? That's the million dollar question in Lexington. Joker Phillips may have one more year after this train wreck of a season. Looks like a 3-4 win season for the Wildcats this year.

Gauntlet

@ #10 South Carolina

@#18 Arkansas

vs #12 Florida

@#1 LSU

I love to watch AU play win or lose. I also predicted only 7 wins this year. That being said I can’t imagine how tough these next 4 games will be to watch. I told Joe that going into the year with low expectations makes watching a loss easier, and it does a little, but not as much as I thought. I believe this year is the reason Tubbs got fired, we have only 5 seniors on the entire the team, I also believe this is going to be one bad year and then we will be better and compete for the West the next couple of years. Even though I believe that it does not make it easier. I think if we can win one of these games and our D looks “better” against these teams it is a fulfilled season. I think we can beat Ole Miss, UGA will be a coin toss (as it usually is) if we do this and get better over the next 4 weeks I am happy. I know moral victories are cheap but an obnoxious unrealistic fan is something I have never been and I will not become one now. In summation this is what I love about college football going from basement to the penthouse to win a NC and back down to basement again in less than 12 months. You guys should probably not get to comfy though we only went down to the basement to fix a few things we will be running back up those stairs soon………..

Slay your bookie picks

Here is what you all have been waiting for. The third installment of my picks. I plan on slaying my bookie this week, so if you want to follow, then so be it....

#1 UGA -10

The hotseat bowl should be won by a more talented UGA squad. Ole Miss has struggled so far this year on offense and has had problems stopping the rushing attack of their opposition. I think Crowell gets 20+ carries and clears 150 yards as the Dawgs roll in Oxford.

#2 Florida -19.5

I must say, this bet is more against Kentucky than it is for Florida. UK has been awful to start the season and the difference in talent is enormous here. Take the Gators and get an easy cover.

#3 LSU -6

LSU will bring the Mountaineers back down a few notches after they beat the Terps last week. LSU beat Miss. St. on the road easily, they should be able to do the same here. WV hasn't faced a defense like it'll see Saturday.

#4 Baylor -20.5

Baylor is my go to team this year. I love Robert Griffin and they light up the scoreboard. Good luck stopping this guy Rice, don't think you can do it.

Remember, I'll be singing away after these picks!!

Take Baylor -20 vs Rice. Because Rice sux and Baylor breaks scoreboards.

Whoooooo Pig Sooie +11. As I stated on beluga, as good as the Sabinator is on D, Petrino is every bit as good on O. Arky's D is closer to Bama's D than Bama's O is to Arky's O.

He's still a man but I like the under in this game Under 69.

Dem dirty Jacket's keep rolling. Close at half, but my two coaches make adjustments and blow it open the 2nd half. Tech hangs half a hundred on the heels. GT-6.5

Cod Lock

This is the my first Cod Lock of the year.  And let me just remind some of you slap dicks how this Southern Fried thing got started.

I used to do a Cod Lock email every week detailing what games I thought were Cod Locks.  Every single week I would get replies asking me, ‘add this guy’ and ‘so and so wants to be on the list also’ etc…  It got to the point where there were about 30 fucking people that were wanting to read my picks.   That’s right!  and if you are new to the blog – before you say a God Damn word I want you to look up at the top and see a counter – what does it say?  Almost 80 Fucking Thousand hits in 2 years!!

I had a couple of guys that loved telling me how bad my picks were.  That would tell me things like, ‘You are a fucking idiot – please stop sending me these emails’  or ‘you have to be the dumbest son of bitch picking games’ and all other forms of compliments.   So the sorry bastards that sent me these things joined and we Formed ‘Southern Fried’ – the greatest sports blog on the net!  I understand it has been a little slow lately.  I understand that we have slacked off a little bit…  But understand this and understand it clearly.  This Blog didn’t get to 80 fucking thousand hits from sucking!  It got there because we have a loyal ass fan base that comes here daily.  the stats don’t lie!   So if you don’t have the balls to post your picks BEFORE the games are played then keep that hole in your mouth shut before I put something in it.

So here is my first Cod Lock of the year and you can bet your first born on it!

ff_519576_xl

The Mickey Mouse high school bullshit of an offense that P ‘can’t see my dick because I’m a fat ass’ J runs at the Institute of Orientals will not be able do shit against the fastest Defense it has ran into this year.  And the weak ass sloppy pussy defense that Al ‘i have a penis in my ass’ Groh runs will give up more than enough points to keep the Tar Heels in it.

10 Things I know better now

  1. Oklahoma is very beatable
    1. FSU came to play and OU didn’t look all that great to me… But DAMN some bone crushing hits in that game.
  2. LSU has a nasty ass Defense
    1. the two times LSU has won the crystal ball who was the QB
  3. Bama has just as nasty ass of a Defense,
    1. even when playing inferior teams.. Saban’s boys stop the ball!
  4. Georgia can beat D2 schools
    1. I will hold all thoughts on this team until after the Florida Game….
  5. Auburn’s Defense is worse than we thought
    1. Clemson was making 3rd Downs like Peter North blows loads, where ever and when ever.
  6. The leaves start turning – the option starts churning
    1. (see Navy and Georgia Tech’s offensive stats)
  7. Buffallo Bills
    1. I might have been wrong about Gailey…
    2. Fitzpatrick is a legit NFL QB
    3. The AFC North is going to be fun to watch
  8. Cam Newton was worth drafting #1 overall
    1. 400 + yards in his first 2 starts
    2. as a rookie!!
  9. Auburn fans are starting to piss me off becoming Carolina faithful n0w!
    1. Listen, pick a Damn NFL team if you are going to watch grown man football and pull for that team.
    2. I enjoyed seeing AJ catch a TD in his first start but fuck him, I’m a Julio man now.
    3. Cam was in Auburn for less than a year..  he is NOT an Auburn Man.  He was a hired a gun that did excatly what yall paid him to do – Win!!  Carolina is paying him, you can stop acting like your a fucking panther fan!  Cam Newton will come back when yall unveil his statue and then end up like Reggie Bush and get asked never to come back again..
  10. The Georgia Dome belongs to Matt Ryan
    1. Even though Vick had a 10 pt lead when left the game…
    2. And I’m not big on QB vs QB hyped games.  Its QB vs Defense.  and Ryan beat Philly’s ‘Dream Team’ Defense and Vick… ‘got knocked the fuck out’ –smokey

Poison Ivy

This is a picture of Poison Ivy..  This is not what I thought it looked like.

poison_ivy_toxicodendron_radicans

I have the poison from this plant all over me right now… It started off last week and I just kept putting Calamine Lotion, because that’s what the song says to do, all over it… but turns out – the way the shit spreads is you scratch it and the juices get under your finger nail and then when you scratch something else it infects that area.

Well, my balls itched so I scratched them and it turns out that I also had scratched an infected area before…  so now I have this shit form ankle to wrist, including the Frank and Beans.  Once this area got infected I decided to go on in to the Dr.’s office and get something done about it and Wouldn’t you know it!  It’s a female Dr.  ‘What seems to be the problem sir?’  ‘I got poison ivy, it itches like hell, and its even on my penis… and i’m worried..’  - ‘Well lets take a look'.’  -Side Note: IF you have a rash on a part of your body that you can show someone for them to evaluate and diagnose with out having to show other parts that you would prefer not to, I would advise you to just mention the areas that you feel comfortable showing..   Because it was blatantly obvious Mini Me was very embarrassed about having red spots on him.. he looked like a scared little turtle curled up in his shell hiding from a predator.  All you could see was wrinkles and Red Zit looking things with what could be the most disgusting looking balls I have every seen in my life…  and they were mine!

Anyway, I got 2 lotions and 2 pills and one of the pills says ‘May cause Drowsiness’ – It should say, ‘You are about to be Sleepy as Fuck’  The lotions have directions to apply 3 times a day, do not use together, and clean areas very good before applying..   So another words – you are going to be sleepy as shit but make sure you don’t forget to apply lotion 6 fucking times a day for a week!

Poison Ivy, I LOATHE you.

Picks-o-the week II susabitches!!

Yep he's a man. Take the cowboy's -13.5 vs Tulsa.

She's an alumni, I checked. Take the Hoo's +10.5 @ UNC

I can't get enough of this mama. Go UT +9.5 @ the Swamp.

Honorable mention. Just for shits and giggles go with the over 57 in the WVU @ MD game.

LSU – Mississippi State

Hottest-LSU-Girls-9

Watch Out!!  Top 5 team playing on the Road against a Ranked Team on a Thursday Night!!

Upset Alert!  Upset Alert!

Or is it??

I think LSU walks the Dog tonight and shuts the Cowbells up early.  I think that State will put up a fight, maybe sneak in a TD late in the first half make it a 1 score game at 1/2Time but the Tigers are just bigger, stronger, faster, and blacker.  And if I was a coach these would be the 4 areas that I would look for in a recruit and Miles thinks the same way.

Bottom line in this game is that LSU is more talented at 95% of the positions.

lsu-hot-girls

LSU is hungry.

LSU has a coach that will have his team Fired UP and ready to take over the trenches!

LSU wins this ball game by 3 TD’s 38-17

How good are our teams head coaches?

Ok, I thought we could discuss this a little further. I realize Richt has really stumbled the past few years, but I want to see what our resident bloggers think about the following coaches. And this does not take into effect assistant coaches at all. I'm only concerned with the head man. Where would you rank them? Candidates.....
-Nick Saban
-Mark Richt
-Gene Chizik
-Les Miles
-Paul Johnson
-Dan Mullen

Let's just chew on these for now. Rank them in the order that you would choose for your team if your ball coach was Mike Dubose. Go.

I'll start off.....
1) Nick Saban - This is an obvious choice. He knows how to coach, recruit and prepare. Don't think anyone will pick differently for #1.
2) Dan Mullen - Up and comer that is hungry. I like Mullen, although I'm not sold on his offense. But he is all about winning, and he's doing it at MSU.
3) Mark Richt - I'm not crazy about Richt, but he can get the job done. He turned a UGA program around and I think the fire has been lit again that will make us feel like he has seen the light. Give him thru the season and lets make our decision on him then.
4) Paul Johnson - This is tough, b/c I would never want him running his offense at my school, but you have to give the guy credit, he's a hell of a coach.
5) Les Miles - Here is a man who wins all the time. He recruits well, but honestly, I wonder how in the hell he ever got a head coaching job. His time management is horrible. I once saw him trying to call time out after LSU intercepted the ball. He didn't know the clock stopped on a change of possession? Wow
6) Gene Chizik - This was close with Chizik and Miles. I give Chizik very little credit for last year's team. All the credit goes to Cam and the booster that paid for him. Chizik could hardly get a win at Iowa State, I just don't think he is a good coach.

thoughts…Georgia/South Carolina

I didn’t have much to say last week after Georgia lost…  well, I did, but I wasn’t sure that what I was thinking was out of anger/depression or logical thoughts (odds of it being logical thoughts are 30:1).  I wanted to wait until after this game before I put my thoughts in writing because the one thing this blog has taught me is after you post it – you can’t take it back.

This was one of the most inspired Georgia teams I have seen play in the last couple of years.  The Defense played more physical than I can remember seeing in a long time and TG put heat on Garcia all day.  Crowell is the real deal, he is growing into a legit RB right in front of our eyes and my criticism of this past week was unfair and premature.  You can say what ever you want to about Bobo but yesterday was not predictable play calling Coach Mark Richt gambled at unexpected times.

With 2.30ish left in the game and Clowney (a Freak! can’t remember a True Freshman DE looking that good) threw Murray like a rag doll and Murray tried to make something out of nothing and turned a bad play worse with a fumble/td to go down 10 – seeing the fans file out of the stadium was embarrassing.   I did not buy a ticket to the game and was not there so I feel I have little right to judge those people but I was still embarrassed.   I might have been embarrassed with the fact that I still believe that we were going to win the game.  I believed that this Georgia team would not give up and fight until the last second and that is exactly what they did.   And THAT is something I was very proud of.

I believe that Georgia can still win the East.  But that is because of how bad the East is, not how good Georgia is…  We see it every single year.  We have to rely on things we can’t control to win a conference title…  ‘If UT beats Fla and Fla beats SC and we beat Fla and Ark beats SC and SC beats UT and Aub beats Fla and Kentucky beats UT and UT ties Vandy….’  Every single year!  2005 was the last time Georgia started out 3-0 in conference play…  The last 6 years we have found a way to lose one of our first 3 conference games..

Some Numbers.

  • Since 2009 Georgia is 14-14 over all and 7-10 in the SEC.
  • Richt has at least 2 conference loses every single year except once and that was 9 years ago.
  • Richt is 26-21 vs. Top 25 teams in his career and 2-10 the last 12 he has coached.

We have become a little better than a mediocre football team…  That’s it.  Above average!

I will continue to support the Georgia Bulldogs.  I will continue to dedicate more time than I should to watching/reading everything Georgia.   And I appreciate the 2 SEC titles that CMR brought to Athens.  I have had some great highs the last decade and have been extremely proud that I thought we had the best MAN in college football running our program and I will always hold him high regard.   I don’t believe you have to hate a person before you want him replaced.   I have the up most respect for Coach Mark Richt and appreciate everything he has done for the University. But I want him replaced…..

COD Locks - Edition II

OK we started 2-1, now let's keep making money....

Pick #1

Stanford Cardinal -20.5

Pick #2

Cal -6.5

Pick #3

GT -11

Not enough time for write-ups, just book it Dann-O!!!!

5 things we find out this weekend

#1 Does Georgia Suck?  If South Carolina comes into Athens and puts a beat down on the Dawgs then University will be accepting Resume’s

#2 Is Mississippi State for real?  Can they go into Auburn and get their SEC season under way with a win over a rebuilding Auburn?

#3 Will Auburn win 5 games or 8 games this year?  I win over Miss St will have me leaning towards the 8.

#4 Is Alabama’s Defense the best Defense in the country and is their offense good enough to jump on the D’s back and win a National Championship.

#5 Is Brian Kelley the right man for Notre Dame?

Picks-O-the week

I like the Wolverines +3 to play some tough D and make Brian Kelly lose his shit again this week.

Houton "cougars" -21.5 over N Tex.

Dem Dirty Jackets are hussling this year. -11 @MTSU

Check out this Milf. UT -4 vs Cincy.

My uneducated thoughts on the weekend

Dawgs: They basically just ran into a better team. Dawgs played like the same 6-7 team that ended the 2010 season. Let's see what they do with Spurrier coming to Athens this weekend before we all jump to throwing them under the bus.

GT: I went to the game and was not impressed with what I saw. You can't really get a read off of a horrible D1-AA team.

Burn: Not as good as last year(duh), but ran into a team that is better than people think. IIRC Utah St played some people tough last year.

Bama: ????

Notre Dame: Happy they lost

Clemson: Beat a Troy team, by a pretty fair margin, that historically is a decent team. Watch out Burn, Clemson could be out for blood this year.

COD Locks

I'll give three COD Locks to get the season started....

First of all, as you all know, I'm a Dawg! So in other words, give me the Dawgs +3 in the GA Dome. UGA has better athletes at every position and should take care of business. I think there is a new attitude in Athens and we should find out early if the Dawgs are gonna make some noise.

My second COD Lock is the South Florida Bulls +11. The Fighting Irish are supposed to be better this year but I think USF could surprise some people in the Big East as well. They have their QB returning and he is a baller.

Lastly, I'll take the Seminoles of Florida State -29 vs. UL Monroe. FSU looks to have a dangerous team this year and if they get good play from the QB position, they could be back in the national spotlight.

Good luck to everyone and I offer these picks for free in week 1.
