Meth Heads of the SEC

MSN has a story about this new anti-drug campaign showing before/after shots of meth heads.  And actually these are not really “Before” shots because the subjects had already been arrested for drug use..  So I turned some of them into SEC fans.

UGA - I like the dedication to the center part making this gentlemen the Mark Richt of Meth Heads

1

Miss State -  I did not know that Meth made you blacker but Sylvester Croome would be proud or Leroy Hammond

2

Kentucky – Dewey probably should have stayed on Kentucky weed instead of the Meth

3

Auburn - “I feel asleep on my pizza” Anna Belle should have stuck with Cam Juice instead of shooting up Meth

4

Florida – Joni’s mullet.. need I say more

5

Bama – Denny Byrant Smith  started out looking like a sexual predator and then just a typical Bamar

6

Vandy – Whitney put her brain to use and figured out a way to wake up her lazy eye

7

Arkansas – Meth helped Bobbi Jean Sue move up the ranks with Walmart and fit in better at Arkansas games

8

Ole Miss – Harrold County DA’s daughter Scarlett  went from hanging out on the Grove to striping in Tupelo

12

South Carolina – Myrtle went from pulling for the Gamecocks to playing Games with cocks

10

UT – Bobby Ray started having to buy his own stuff after Fat Phil fired from the Vols

11

LSU – refusing to leave during Katrina Jean-Luc Miles toughed out for his beloved Tigers

random

couple of quick random things.

  1. God, it is so pretty outside and I am really looking forward to taking the girls fishing, riding the 4 wheeler, doing yard work, riding dirt roads, just enjoying the pretty weather.  The bad thing is when it is pretty outside it is really hard to justify why you I am sitting on my ass in my boxer shorts at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon…  I’m still not sure how to pull that off with out looking like a worthless sack of shit but I intend to figure it out how this year.
  2. Netflix for the Wii is the shit – I have been up for the last 2 nights until 1 am watching season 1 of Californication (which is a bad ass show) and I have several more showtime and hbo original series to catch up on.  This does not help #1 on this list.
  3. I don’t remember Parker and Rachel crying like Audrey does every evening.  I’m not sure what is causing this and I’m pretty sure that I am not helping out nearly enough… maybe this pretty weather will help.
  4. Planning a trip to Disney World this year is so much fun.  It’s really great to plan out a $2,500 vacation when you have $18 in your savings account.  Really shows how much my priorities are in line.
  5. Woodford Reserve is the best Whiskey i have ever put in my mouth.  Thanks DR (I dont want to put his name on here because he thinks very highly of himself and wouldn’t want to have his name on Southern Fired.  he also likes to suck dick)
  6. Going to be going to a Bachelor party in April that is being planned about as good as the evacuation of New Orleans – the only difference is that their are no black people involved – and I’m not sure where I stand…  option A: fuck it, doesnt matter.  option B: take over the planning and get stiffed for several hundreds of dollars and set my Disney Trip back..  I’ll go with option A.
  7. NBA trades.  who gives a shit.
  8. Spring Training.  who gives a shit.
  9. I’m glad Dale Jr didn’t win the Daytona 500 because I would be so sick and tired of hearing people talk about how fixed Nascar is.  The most popular driver in the last 8 years hasn’t won a race in over 90 races.  I’m pretty sure it isn’t fixed people.
  10. I don’t have a tenth but didn’t want to stop at 9.

Diamond Shopping

Do you think Dan Uggla was enough to put the Braves back in the postseason this year? Here is what I think.

Our lineup I project to be

  1. Prado
  2. Heyward
  3. Uggla
  4. McCann
  5. Chipper (I hope)
  6. Gonzo
  7. Freeman
  8. Mclouth

is a really strong top to bottom with speed and power throughout. I think Freeman could be BIG he is only batting in the 7 spot because he is a Rookie and doesn’t have the power to bat clean up but I think he could be a number 3 or 5 hitter. I think if Freemen is on the shortlist of 5 or so players for NL rookie of the year I think we will be better than last year offensively.

Our rotation I project to be

  1. Hudson
  2. Hanson
  3. Lowe
  4. Jurrjens
  5. Beachy

Now this is until Medlin gets back which who knows when that could be. Lowe could be huge as the 3rd starter, even he didn’t have a great year last year he finished strong with a 5-0 record an era well under 2.00 in the last month and into the playoffs. If Beachy and Minor can alternate for 9 or 10 wins until Medlin gets back hopefully in Aug I think we will in the thick of it

The Bullpen of Peter Moylan, Scott Linebrink, George Sherrill I think is one of our biggest strengths so I will not spend a whole lot of time on that.

Now comes the ?

With the loss of Wagoner can Kimbrel step up and be a legit closer? I don’t know I personally think the job should go to Venters but he is a lethal set up man and the Braves seem to love this Kimbrel kid, for one I hope they are right.

Monday

This video made me laugh pretty damn hard…

Weekend in Hartwell went pretty good.  I don’t ever get to see as many people as I would like to but thats always the case.  I didn’t run into some blog supporters at Hartwell Golf Course that spoke highly of the blog.  Always good to hear people enjoy this as much as we all do.

I met Reese’s new girlfriend this weekend and I was impressed.  She was very nice, she laughed at my jokes, and she was smoking hot.  I could tell Reese was a nervous wreck though just waiting on me to tell a story about him that she doesn’t know yet.  But I didn’t… I don’t think.  I may have.  But not on purpose.

A couple of weeks back I tweeted how Georgia’s chances of making the Dance were done… Starrett told me I didn’t know what I was talking about and then took a personal shot at my Church Basketball skills that I felt was uncalled for.  Well, it turns out that Slap Dick Starrett may have been correct (This is very difficult for me to put on the blog because some of you do not understand just how “always correct” this bastard is – he is the guy that you can’t talk to about certain things because he makes you want to stab a ice pick in your eye) If the Dawgs beat Bama this weekend in T-Town, which will be very very hard – bama hasnt lost at home in a good little while and Anthony Grant has those boys finally buying into what he is preaching, then Georgia has a chance to go Dancing even with out the AQ of the SEC tourney..

I do not free base cocaine.. i do not!

Aarron Murray sprained his ankle today, nothing serious.

Level of Class??

Yesterday Pepper was comparing the “Level of Class” of a couple of different actions from Bamars and Barners…

Last Night the children of this man who has been arrested for the poisoning of the Oaks on Toomers Corner made a statement asking for people to leave them alone.  They have had to take a 13 year old out of school due to threats and the family has received several DEATH threats including some to the young children in the family.  The family is having to be protected now because of the danger of some Auburn fans.

Where is sending a family a “death threat” on the “Level of Class” meter??

Toomers Corner.....

I must say that I was expecting some blog activity this morning after the reports of the poisoned trees in Cow Town, AL was released. Whoever this idiot is that did this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible. At the same time, it should be noted that one idiot doesn't represent an entire fan base.

Because I am not educated in the use of Clitter, I really don't understand one of the comments that I can see on Culpeckers account. By that I mean I cannot tell if this is something he posted or something that someone else sent to him. However, if I am understanding it the right way, I have this to say......Blaming this on all Bama fans makes you even dumber than your your "Bradweiser - King of Queers" t shirt. And if it takes something like this to get you fired up for the Iron Bowl, you shouldn't call yourself an Auburn fan.

I was reading one of the ESPN blogs last night about this story and some of the comments were quite comical. These two fan bases seem to get a thrill out of calling the each other low rent, redneck, classless, dumb, ignorant, inbred when in reality it just makes both sides look stupid.

10/300??

Would you pay a “31” year old first baseman who’s numbers have dipped in every category except home runs $300 million for 10 years? If you would here is some food for thought. Best power hitters of the last 15 years let’s name em’. I will start with Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Pujols, and A-rod. 1 combined ring. Is paying for that power really worth it?

A Fitting Image for the blog......

I know that Joe already posted a photo of Dylan and I appreciate that. However, I thought that this one was a little more fitting for the Southern Fried Blog. Hope you guys enjoy.....

Pulley just texted me a photo......

Congrats Pulley.....

lil Pulley is here

6.9 lbs and 20 1/2 in long – Dylan Chase Pulley

Healthy white baby and Mama is doing fine, from what I understand.

Last night I was showing someone new the blog – I went through the archives and showed him when it started.  One of the first few posts had something to do with Pulley, Starrett, Reese, Culpepper and Jody and you guys are THE reason this thing is still alive.  We now have had 2 babies born, an engagement, and several several great stories shared.  Great arguments, personal attacks, and even some momma jokes – all the while in good fun.

Last night when Pulley sent me a text with Dylan’s numbers he put, “update the blog” – He had just had a new baby boy and within a few hours was thinking of Southern Fried.  It just got me thinking how special this thing has become to me and I wanted to tell you guys just how much I appreciate your partnership.  When someone is slacking, then someone else picks it up and I thank you for it.

Pulley, Congratulations on becoming a father.

Front Runners and suprise teams of 2011!!

Let's start with the Big 12 or whatever they are going to be:

Obviuosly OU should be the favorite to come out of this conference, but who do you think will be the suprise team to make some noise/scare a few teams?

I'm going with KSU. I believe this will be Bill Snyder's 3rd year back with the program he built. They have gotten some good recruits since his arrival and he seems to be an outstanding coach, even though he's 112. They may fall flat on there face, but I think they will make some noise in the Big 12-2. Whatcha think?

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Joe, quit tweeting nonsense

Do you know anything about college basketball? You are making me think that you don't. Just as you were one of the worst church basketball players ever to lace them up. A loss to Xavier is not gonna keep the Dawgs out of the dance. UGA needs to finish strong with a winning record in conference play and we'll be dancing in March.

We got wireless at the hospital.......

and my wife already hates me. Our RN is pretty cute so that is a plus. I am stoked that I will be able to keep up with the important things in life: Facebook, Southern Fried, Yahoo Fantasy Golf, my bank account and ALee's clitter posts.

All kidding aside, I am pretty much in shock right now. More to come........

Word on the street...Ealey gone!!!

That's what my GON hunting site/sports forum guys are saying. I also read a couple of weeks back that he may be going to the 'boro to play B Back. If this pans out, does Crowell get thrown in as a true frosh or does that leave Malcome or the little dude to lace'em up ?

Super Bowl Prediction

Pittsburgh Steelers 45

Green Bay Packers –3

  • Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers offense has averaged 13.7 pts in the 3 games they played against Chicago Bears and I don’t think the Bears D is as good as the Steelers
  • Go to about the 3:17 mark on this video.  2:30 left to go in the 4th Qt on your own 22 yard line – down 23-20 with only 2 Time outs.
    • First play, holding on Pitt – backs em up to their own 12 (1st and 20) w/ 2:24 left..

Steelers Win out right and you are getting them with 3 free points.  3 points are a lot of points in any NFL game, especially a Super Bowl.

Quick Question

Paul “PJ” Johnson made an interesting comment the other day.  A commitment that PJ had went on  a visit to FSU and Paul took his offer off the table..  said something about commitment this and commitment that blah blah blah we hold that word in high regard blah blah blah.  At first I thought, you know, that's pretty damn cool.  I always have liked PJ and thought it was honorable for someone that has that much convection on commitment.

But then today Barron Dixon, who has been a long time Miss State commit, switched to Vandy…  what the hell does this have to do with PJ?? Well the guy said today that he had been in conversations with Georgia Tech recently…. huh, wait a minute here.  So Mr. Johnson has an issue with a kid that takes a visit to another school once he has committed to Tech because of the word COMMITMENT.   but yet he doesn't have a problem letting a kid that is committed to another school come and visit him….  hmmmm.

Here is what I think.  I think I was wrong about PJ’s convections and I have come to the conclusion that he is just a pompous asshole who has just a little to much pride to be recruiting to a school like Tech.  The Nerds should welcome anybody that would even consider them and be happy for who ever they get.

Southern fried poll??

First poll of 2011. Tell the truth. Would you watch her in action??? I'll be the 1st and say Hell yes, just to see what she/"it" looks like. Prolly take a man like Evan Stone or Pete North to tangle with that thing. What say you?

Countdown to signing day

Since no one else cares to post anything on this blog, I'll share some insider information on recruiting (not really inside info. but wtf ever). Dawgs are lining up a very special class. As of now, UGA seems to have put up a fence around the state and we are getting most of our targets. Last week was huge picking up Jay Rome, the TE from Valdosta that has been a UGA lean for some time, and Malcolm Mitchell, the CB/WR from Valdosta that has was thought to be an Alabama lean. Their high school coach said that Rome would play in the NFL one day and that Mitchell is the best athlete he's ever coached. Sounds good coach, can't wait to see them in Red and Black. To go along with these guys we got a commit this week from Xzavier Ward, OT from Colquitt County. This guy is a definite redshirt this coming year. He's ranked as the #40 OT in the country but I love his upside. This year was only the second year he's played football. He's 6-7" 260lbs. right now and I love that frame to add about another 50lbs. He could be special in 2-3 years. Other big time recruits commited include Damian Swann (#9 rated CB), Zach DeBell (#28 rated OT), Watts Dantzler (#23 rated OT), Nice Marshall (#15 rated CB), Christian LeMay (#8 rated QB, was higher but didn't play high school ball this year), and Corey Moore (#6 rated S). We are looking to close with two five star players in Ray Drew and Isaiah Crowell. Add the JC DT John Jenkins and we should have a top 5 class if all goes as the Dawgs hope. Anyway, just thought I'd put something out for blog followers to read since no one else seems to post.

PATHETIC BLOG!!!!

A picture that says it all...........

Congratulations to Alabama!

Alabama’s Spring practice this year will not just be “practice” it will be Try Outs.  Alabama will have 11 players leave the program this year (8 sr & 3 jr) and they were already at full capacity (85).  So how do they have 23 verbal commitments and will be entertaining several more this weekend?  Because they will not keep them.  What Coach Saban will do is after Spring practice he will “cut” the players that he doesn’t want.  Making it impossible for them to find another school this year because it will be to late.

Bobby Dodd would not allow any of the football players choosing Tech to be dismissed from Tech, because they were not good players. Dodd said, “it is not the recruits fault for not making the squad, it was the coaches fault for misjudging their talents”. If a recruit came to Tech, he would stay on a football scholarship until he graduated.

So Congrats! Bama.  There is a good reason Saban is always at the top of the recruiting charts.

Thoughts on the game....

First off, congrats to Auburn. That was one helluva game last night. I wasn't expecting the defensive battle that we got, but it made the game a great one to watch. Couple of things and then I am done....

1. Dyer is a stud and is going to be tough to face for the next few years. He obviously was good throughout the regular season but he showed out last night.
2. Nick Fairley is a dirty piece of shit. He has been taking cheap shots all year long and that BS that he pulled when he shoved James' face was just more proof. The Barn fans can say whatever they want, but time and time again he has shown that he is cheap & dirty.
3. Cam Newton is great, but I have heard all I ever care to hear about him. This shit has gotten worse than when Tebow was in school. Call it jealousy, being a sore loser, hater, etc - I don't care.
4. In my opinion, the Oregon coaching staff had a terrible game plan.

So now starts the most boring time of the year.......the off season. That time of the year when college football is no more.

Wild Card Weekend

Who Dat?? Fuck Dat.  But I do recommend taking the Aints today laying a HUGE 10 points over Seattle.  This is one of the biggest road favorites i can remember in the playoffs but the Hawks typically get their asses handed to them.

In the next game you have Peyton Manning going up against the Mexican…  Believe I will go with #18 laying the 2 1/2 points.

Sunday Baltimore goes into KC and that place gets nasty.  I do have a buddy that will at this game so I look forward to hearing what it is like in Arrowhead for a playoff game.  I like the Ravens laying 3 but I would recommend buying the hook.

The Pack goes into Philly for a Dog fight against Vick and I think Rogers comes out on top of this one and gives Reid his first first round playoff loss (i think, not sure about)

Harbaugh

just a little bit more on Harbaugh.  I don’t think he liked Rece asking him this question.  But with a name like Rece, he has to be gay

Andrew Luck to stay at Stanford

Don't know if I understand this. He says he plans on finishing out his degree in architectual design. Andrew, you'll make more in a signing bonus if you leave than you will in a career doing architectural design. I guarantee the coeds at Stanford were weighing on this guys mind as I'm sure he does what he wants when he wants if you know what I mean. Oh well, its a risk, but good luck Andrew, maybe AJ will follow your lead.

What Harbaugh does determines the future of southern football.

Let's say Harbaugh goes to Michigan, no big deal.
Now if he doesn't go to Michigan and RichRod still gets canned, then the chips start falling. I believe they'll go after Mad Hatter which opens up one of the best jobs in the south at LSU. People start cherry picking from there. Who loses their coach to LSU?

Thoughts and Reflections

Well after a few emails from the ignoramous that is Brad Culpepper, I think I will reflect a little on this college football season.

What we learned:
1. Auburn had a great season. They fielded the best college football player in the land. He made the infamous Tim Tebow look second rate. We also know that a lot of fishy things went on with his recruitment. I hope AU wins the title (for personal financial gain only). And Cam letting his teammates carry him off the field was pathetic btw.

2. Alabama is a very good team. They didn't win it all, but by the way they played in their bowl game, I don't think anyone would be happy to be facing them. Too bad Alabama and Stanford didn't play in the Orange b/c I think that would have been a hell of a game.

3. Jim Harbaugh is one hell of a coach. Stanford looked like a well oiled machine last night. He coaching players with less talent than a 6-7 UGA team, and makes them look unbeatable. Hey Jim, how do you like warm weather? Maybe a lake house on Lake Hartwell and the head coaching job in Athens?

4. Here is what I really don't want to talk about. UGA is a program that is really failing right now. We continue to recruit top talent and do nothing with it. Since we ended the 2007 year ranked #2 and started 2008 as preseason #1 the program has been on a steady decline. How can you lose 3 games with Stafford (#1 pick in NFL draft), Moreno (1st round draft choice), Massaquoi (early 2nd rounder I think), AJ Green (top WR in the country and future top 5 pick). All of these guys start in the NFL (besides Green), and we lose 3 games? Since then, we have won 8 games and 6 games ending with a losing record. The bowl performance was attrocious. It looked as though no one even cared. So Pepper, you asked what I thought of UCF beating us, yes it was horrible, embarrasing and many other things you failed to name. Its not a lot of fun to be a UGA fan right now, but things will get better, hopefully sooner than later. Mark Richt will be on the hottest seat in the country next year and will need a 9 win season at a minimum to keep his job. He knows this. Change is coming. We'll see if he knows what changes will result in better performance.

On a side note, did anyone notice Andrew Luck being carried off the field last night? I didn't.

Randy Edsall to MD. Where does this leave Leach??

I like the hire of Randy Edsall at MD, but where the hell is Leach going to end up if he does at all? Has the coaching domino effect even started or will there be one this year?

UGA vs. Ohio State

The Dawgs have scheduled a meeting with Ohio State in 2020 & 2021 home and home.   I know this is a very long time away BUT why the hell do we keep scheduling tough ass non-conference games??  I guess with the decline of Georgia Tech new Georgia AD Mcgarity (sp) is not looking at the nerds as a legit non-conference opponent.

What are some of yall’s thoughts on your team playing tough non-conf games?

What's this play called again?

I think this play should be called “fuck it we give up” or “can’t win a bowl game” well on second thought Air Force did (bet he misses the good ole days at Navy when he beat AF) so I guess we will go with the first one.

Roger41

Embarrassing

Come on PJ..  Last night was just flat out embarrassing for Georgia Tech.  Hell, I was embarrassed.  PJ better get his shit together because you do NOT lose a bowl game to Freakin Air Force.  AIR FORCE for Christ’s sake..

If he aint careful then he will end up just little north of Atlanta doing this…

Mississippi State

Renardo Sidney and Elgin Bailey fight in the stands… In case you didn’t know, they are THE SAME TEAM!! Are you kidding me?  Really?  Two guys one the same team couldn’t find a better place to go at it than the stands.

If the name Renardo Sidney rings a bell, it should.  He was found taking extra “benefits” and was suspended.   I think Miss State should get out of the paying business.  It doesn’t seem to be working out to good for them.

"Roll Tide" Commercial

Has anyone else seen this commercial on ESPN? I am not sure if it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but it is quite comical. I like the one at the cemetery when they are finishing the funeral the best. My wife & I got a good laugh out of it.

Leach to MD? What do you think and another topic too?

OK, so we've all heard the rumors about Leach going to MD for over a year now and it finally looks like it's going to happen. Let me know what you think. I'm personally glad he ended up there and not at Da U(by the way, they claim Leach showed up at his first interview with Da U a few years back dressed just like the pic above) where he would have run shit. I still like the hire by MD and think Leach will do exactly what they need(create a brand/great, entertaining football and fan support), but don't really like how they handled the letting go of "The Fridge".

Speaking of "The Fridge", most of you probably don't know much about him and think he's just some fat slob. Well he is just that, but he's also one of the greatest offensive minds in all of football. A little history lesson on Ralphie: It all started when I went to the GT BobbyRoss/Bobby Dodd football camp in '87. Big Ralph was the guy who pretty much ran the show and he was a fat asshole back then. Little did I know this cat was about to lead my team to an NC in a couple of years with Shawn Jones at the helm. Four years after that he would lead the San Diego Chargers to a Super Bowl where they ran into a buzz saw known as the 'niners. Then his old friend George O'Leary(the DC at GT during the Ross years) takes over at GT, after the Bill Lewis debacle, and talks old Ralph into coming back to lead the Jackets on O. Well if you're any kind of a football fan you remember the Joe Hamilton years and just how good Tech was on O. Then comes 2001 when he wins an ACC title in his first year as MD's HC. He had several 10 win seasons which is pretty impressive at MD. Wins coach of the year this year and is told to walk after the bowl game.

With all of the above said, this is how I think Ralph's future is going to pan out in one of two ways:
1. He's either going to retire, get fatter, and ride off into the sunset or...
2. Beamer is going to call him and ask him to lead his talent at VT. If Fridge is pissed and decides to take the position as OC at VT, the whole nation better watch out. We all know what VT has had on D and special teams. We also know they've never had that great of an offense. If the fat asshole takes the job(and this is just pure speculation from me) VT will be fucking tough to roll with.

Alabama QBs in the NFL

Is there any other State that com pairs to Alabama (ties) as far as QBs in the NFL? There are a total of 87 active NFL QBs and 7 are from Alabama or have ties to Alabama. If there is another State with more let me know.

Muschamp

Muschamp to Florida..  Feelings?  As a Bulldog it would be impossible for me not have some initial negative feelings about this but after sleeping on it here are my thoughts.

I hope WM does a good job.  The East was horrible last year and it’s a lot more fun when you have at least 3 teams that are real contenders.  Plus, how can I be mad or hate on a guy that takes one of the best jobs in College football and what will probably be a $3 million raise??  Hell no, I’m happy for WM and while I hope he doesn’t Zook it up down there I don’t want him to dominate like I would some where else.  It’s just a little crazy to watch a Dooley in Tennesse and now Muschamp in Florida.  I guess when Steve steps down in South Carolina then Kirby will take that job.

I think Florida jumped the gun here.  If you are one of the Top schools in the entire Nation how could a Coordinator be your first choice.  I felt sure they would get a proven head coach so this surprises me.  Not that they landed on him, but that they hired him this quick.   When names that have Super Bowl rings and National Titles are “front runners” it’s shocking when you hear a DC get the job.

Sleep??

The only shitty thing about having a new born is the sleep, or lack of.  And that plays a pretty big part in my sports watching.  Last night was a perfect example of wanting to watch a little bit of Fantasy Football coverage on the NFL network and then my plans were to flip over and check on the Lakers/Bulls game.  I figured Kobe and Rose would be fun to watch…  I dozed off in the chair and missed the FF talk so I went ahead and switched over to the game and zzzzzzzzzz  woke up again and had no clue what was going on.  I then decided to just go to bed.  Then about 12 Audrey wakes up wanting Traci’s breast in her mouth.  Then about 2 Audrey has a stomach ache or something and doesn’t want to lay down anymore.  So I take her in the living room.  about 2.30 Audrey is a sleep so I go back to bed.  at about 3.30 Parker and Rachel come in and tell me that they are scared and can’t sleep.  So I go get in the bed with them until they fall back a sleep and then I go back to my bed about 4ish.  At 5.30 Audrey is ready to eat again so she wakes us up.  Then at 7 I get up and come to work..  This is a regular night at my house right now.  Again, I am VERY VERY lucky.  I could be in B’ham with her praying that she lives.  So these are all shitty things that I am thankful for but wanted to give you bastards that are kid free a night in the life of me.

Note: Rose finished with 29 points and the Bulls came from behind to win by 4.  DAMN IT that would have been a good game to watch.

Look at these hard sunsabitches we have to deal with in NE GA!!

So hard you can even throw folk nation signs while being booked.

Anyone else find it suspect that in the same week the Broncos fire their head coach Urban Meyer leaves Florida?

CASH4GOLD

Cash4Gold

Any of you UFC/MMA fans?

If so, who ya got this weekend? George St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck? These two guys coached the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter and I really like both of them. I want to pull for Koscheck b/c he's from the old USofA, but I really respect St. Pierre even if he is a Canadian. I'll be rooting for GSP, and it would be a shock to the MMA world if Koscheck beats him.

SEC Championship

Alright Boys.  The SEC Championship is tomorrow.  (Reese, stop reading right now)  One of the things that separates the SEC from all other conferences is the loyalty.  You never hear at bowl games any body chanting “Big 10!.. Big 10!”  But it almost seems standard after a SEC team rolls over somebody to not hear chants of the school but chants for the Conference.   We are elite and we know it, so I guess we shouldn’t take offense when we are called elitist.. because we are.   We have the toughest teams.  The the craziest fans.  The biggest and fastest athletes.  We spend the most money on our coaches.  It is our religion.   And we are proud of it.

The reason a 1 loss SEC team is always the highest ranked team is because when an SEC team plays for it all… they win.  Our reputation as the best conference helps all of us.   We have the biggest TV contracts and we get the most bowl bids and we win the most bowls.   That money is divided up amongst all of us making us the richest Conference.   Hell, we have conferences realigning themselves just to try and compete with us.

This year is no different that the last 4 years.  Once again we have a team that is 1 game away from going to the National Title.  All they have to do is to get by one of the most successful coaches in all of college football, AGAIN.  Going through the toughest conference isn’t good enough for us.  We have finish it out on a neutral field just make sure.

If Auburn wins out, do you guys understand what this means?  Do yall have any idea of how this completely cements the fact that College football almost has to put an SEC team in the title game no matter who it is?  We will have 5 National Titles in a row coming from 4 different schools.  Go back and find the last conference to have 4 different schools to even play in the title game, let alone win it, in a 30 year span, let alone a 5 year span.  Hell, find 4 schools in the last 50 years.

The SEC dominates College football period.   Hopefully next year it will be Georgia.  But this year it is Auburn, since our regular season is over I will have 1 more hope for the SEC.  And that is for the Auburn Tigers to represent us Glendale and keep the crystal football in the Deep South where it belongs.

I you are choosing to hate on a school because of their fans base.. then why are you choosing to be more like their fan base?

Villians

Last nights game got me thinking about players & coaches that have left teams - on their own or by being forced out - and the reactions that they have received upon returning to the city/arena. Who or what are some of the more memorable events that you can recall? Some of the more obvious - and most recent - in my mind are the following:

- Brett Favre
- Nick Saban
- Lane Kiffin
- Tiger Woods

Haven't put much thought into this as I am trying to be more productive at work today. To quote Culpepper: "The blog is the worst thing since Myspace and Facebook in regards to productivity at work."

This is what a guy looks like that ends his arguments with lol

Disturbing blog news....

Dateline NBC is on the lookout for the guy pictured above. Its been reported he likes 14 year old girls. I'm just reporting the news, not making it.

Southern Fried as AD

Southern Fried just got hired on as the hiring firm to help Miami hire its next Football coach.  Lets get started on making our short list.

To start with I would like for us to just brain storm and throw out names and then we can sort through them and prioritize them.

Jon Gruden is out.  So don’t mention his name.  Lets here some “obtainable” names.

After about 19 comments

1 Dan Mullen

2 Mike Leach

Kyle Whittingham, Mushchamp,Gus Malzhan, Georgie O’Leary, Dana Holgorsen, Randy Edsall,

The main reason you can’t find what Miami coaches make is because it is a private school.  I am under the impression that the school only pays a very VERY small portion of the salary and the boosters take care of the rest with “fund raisers”

This guy better dog tick Gus and hang on for dear life.

I love this blog!!

I love this blog, all the bloggers, all the shit talking, all the senseless drivel and all of the people that stop in to read what we have to say. The past two days have been some of the best I have seen.

How it went down

If it is not totally obvious by now that I am stuck in a hospital room then it will be now.  I have resorted to doing a post about posts… But anyway, it’s 11:30 at night and I have been up for about 20 hours straight so who gives a shit.

I think it got lost that Pulley did start off by recognizing that he has been WAY one sided and needed to make a post that wasn’t so Alabama biased.   Then shortly after removed all doubt in everyone’s mind that he not capable of that by saying, “Alabama is God.”  (the context was very sarcastic though which does give me hope that he is capable of posting on something other than Bama – and he even did do a little Cliff Lee post that got totally lost in all of today’s activities)

Then Pepper answered some questions about Cam and for some reason threw in a “28-27 ‘take the money and run’ straight through the Bamar defense”  Which I thought was very creative and a pretty damn good jab.

Then Pulley, surprisingly, does not go straight to personal attacks, he states - “I don't want to slight or cheapen the Auburn victory” – which was shocking.

At this point Pepper obviously smelled blood in the water and attacked like a sting ray swimming near Steve Irwin.  Dropping heavy profanity and a huge slap in the face with a “you finished 4th in the SEC west. Nice season!”

Pulley was being punched pretty hard and why he decided to try to involve Starrett here I will not understand.   It seemed he had his hands pretty full with Pepper.

Then out of the blue Anthony Jumps in wanting to know why starrett gets called out and he doesn’t with a pretty good little jab of his on “Cam got your tongue” comment.

Pulley was backed into a corner and came out swinging and swinging hard.  Asking really good questions and personally attacking Auburns best player in typical Pulley fashion with “He is a cocky ass punk”

Then the shit hit the fan.  Traci laid the wood to Anthony in what I thought was the best post of the day.  to much good shit to quote, find the comment yourself and read the whole thing.

Pulley voiced his admiration for Traci.

Anthony then responds (to pulley not traci.  Anthony has to see traci ) with some pretty damn good questions of his own.  Anthony at this point became a member of the blog in my eyes.  He was just a tweeter (or cleeter as pulley calls it) man and this was his first good sit down thought provoking comment.

I just realized how much meaningless bullshit i have typed out and it would be easier for someone to just actually read what happened so I am stopping now.  again, i have been up way to long and they just came and took the baby so i am going to try and sleep for an hour or 2.  expect a good bit of blogging from this week.  hopefully they will be better than the shit i just typed out.

Pulley vs Lee Round 100

Why do you keep blaming Saban for the loss? Please explain to me - finally - this sick infatuation that you have with him. Last I checked he wasn't suited up & playing in the game. Did Saban fumble the ball into the end zone after a 50 yard catch & run? Did Saban drop the wide open play action pass in the end zone? Did Saban fumble after being sacked and cost Bama a field goal? Did Saban overrun the pass on the second play of the second half and give up the touchdown? If you answer yes to any of those questions, please do the following: Open mouth, insert gun and pull the effing trigger. Ingram, Richardson, McElroy and Barron would be the responsible parties. I had hoped to play nice with the Auburn fans the rest of the year, but it seems impossible now. The Barns are very quick to point out how many times they have won the Iron Bowl, so why don't you fucking act like you have been there before? Its like your boon ass qb running around acting a fool after the game. If that was an Alabama player, you would be all over him. So don't tell me about his winning personality, megawatt smile or any other line of bullshit. He is a cocky ass punk. The best player in college football - HANDS DOWN, but a cocky ass punk all the same.

Sincerly,

Crimson Colored, Mouth Breathing, Opinionated, Asshole....................

Pulley

Pulley Pepper fight Round 1

Just incase anyone doesn’t read the comments on my post about my child i thought i would give the cliff notes to what is turning out to be a pretty good fight.

Pepper: 28-27 "take the money and run" straight through the Bammer defense!

Pulley: I have some comments on the Bama - Auburn game, but as I have stated previously I don't want to slight or cheapen the Auburn victory. In the end, a win is a win no matter how I or anyone else sees it.

Pepper: If I were you I would have some comments too like FUCK, SHIT, DAMN, and JESUS CHRIST!
Let me guess the 2 best RBs in the world shouldn't have fumbled and caught a TD pass your probably right but they didn't and that is why you finished 4th in the SEC west. Nice season!

Pulley: I have never - EVER - stated that Richardson and Ingram are the two best RB's in the world. Kind of thought you would give me a little more credit than that Pepper. Guess you have been sipping from the same cup as John. My comments are as follows: That wasn't a win, it was a gift. You know as well as I do that Auburn didn't deserve to win that game. But, as I said the night of the game, it cheapens it all to say that. Bottom line is that Alabama didn't deserve to win that game, but neither did Auburn. Anyway, luck has to be on your side and the breaks have to go your way to go undefeated in college football. Alabama had several last year, Florida had then during their run and Auburn has had a few this year. The trick now is to finish it. SC will be a tough game. It would be a shame to get caught looking ahead.

Pepper, your up.

Cliff Lee to the Yankees?

Would it really surprise anyone? Back in the playoffs it was reported that Lee's wife was spit on and verbally assaulted by Yankee fans. Did anyone actually think that this would stop him from (potentially) signing with the them?

Now I don't know her from the next famous trophy wife, but I don't see the following conversation taking place:

Cliff Lee: Honey, should I take the $160 million that the Yankees are offering me?
Wife: No dear. The fans spit on me and called me a whore.
Cliff Lee: You are right babe. I should take less money and stay in Texas. Thanks for the advice.

I picture it more like this:

Cliff Lee: Packs you bags trick. Daddy is getting paid and we are heading to NYC.

I am not even sure how many of the bloggers follow baseball. Just thought I would see what anyone had to say.

Audrey Lynn and some other stuff

Thanks Reese for posting the pic.  I got more.  And I really don’t care if you bastards don’t care anymore, I’m pretty sure that if this wasn’t my child that I would have lost interest by now also.   but it is my child, and I do have access to the blog so here is an update.  149238_1730795115432_1405137924_31871959_3695022_n

Audrey was born at 7:01 central time this morning and was healthy and everything went perfect.  Traci is doing great and we are already settled in.  Parker and Rachel have both loved on her and the baby hasn’t really cried yet.  I mean a little of your typical shit when we put her down but all and all this is looking to be another great baby.  I’ll put up some video a little later after some people clear out.

Tomorrow night Prince James is going back to Cleveland and I look forward to seeing some of the worst fans in all of sports (next to philly) greet him back.  should be some good greetings.  and even better posters.

The Duke game I mentioned yesterday that was coming on “tonight” wasn’t last night, it is tonight.  They play Michigan State and it will probably be a doozie.  K and Izz are head and shoulders above everyone else in college basketball as my 2 favorite coaches and I look forward to them meeting tonight.

FSU got spanked last night by Ohio state in Tallahassee.  the Noles typically play pretty good b ball at home, i don’t know if they are bad or if Ohio St is going to move right on after Evans departure.

I am going to try and work on a post about Mike Vick.  I just read a really good article about him in SI and it said alot of stuff that I had been really hoping for.  I think he has potential to be really good story and I want to share some of the things that I think some of you guys would like also.

finebaum just tweeted that Auburn has been cleared in the Newton deal.  I don’t know to what extent but would love for Pepper to share some things – I know he is following it very closely.
