In Gainesville tonight, the South Carolina at home this weekend, Then LSU next week, then close the regular season out with Bama in T-Town next saturday. Then SEC tourney starts. What has to happen for the Dawgs to go dancing besides the AQ of winning the tourney?
ReplyDeleteAuburn (who is the worst team in the SEC) almost beat Bammer last night with 4 players fouled our for the last 7 min of the game. Bammer is not playing well right now and might lose twice before they play UGA which will not help even you do win and if you lose it's over. So I think they have to win 3 of those 4 with one being Bammer and make it to the semis of the conf. tourney.
ReplyDeleteNo and neither does the Tournament Committee they look at quality wins and quality opponents. You need to beat Bammer and UF to get in. You have one maybe 2 Quality wins. Your best road win was against Ole Miss who even though they are 17-11 they are under .500 in the SEC. This isn't football in basketball the SEC has to play and beat some non conference teams. Your 3 biggest non-conference games you lost ND, Temple, and Xavier I will let you pick your best non-conference win. Do you want Colorado or Eastern Kentucky because those are the only 2 non-conference games you won against a team with a winning record?
ReplyDeleteJohn I apologize. Charleston Southern is also 4 games over .500.
ReplyDeleteAs with quality wins, they also factor in bad losses, which Georgia has zero. Worst loss of the season RPI wise was to Temple, who was rated 31 in RPI.
ReplyDeleteFact of the matter is (imho), the Dawgs will get in, but won't be around for too long. They are going to have to start playing better or they'll be out no later than 2nd round. The team has talent, but have not been playing up to their abilities. Thompkins is in a funk and we need him to be a 20/10 guy at this point.
