Texas to the Big 10?

Will Texas go to the Big 10? Would they? Your first impression is to say No, but, the talks will not die. And now the Pac 10 is pitching em also. If Texas does go to the BIg 10 then obviously this opens up a spot in the Big 12. Who do they go after? my first hunch would be TCU. Then let the Pac 10 go after 2 of the Boise st, Utah, or Byu. BUT!! what if the Big 12 got Arkansas? who would the SEC pick up? FSU and Georgia Tech would be my first 2 choices and i think GT would be my first. From a football stand point GT would not benefit. They would be playing much tougher competition BUT in basketball, where GT excels, they would have a huge up side. It would basically be uk instead of clemson, duke, unc, nc state, wake forest, etc... What will happen? Does Texas make the move? Which 2 out of the 3 (utah, boise, byu) would like to see in the Pac 10? would you rather GT or FSU in the SEC if Arkansas left?

Happy Wednesday

  1. I thought there was some sort of bylaw that stated all states had to be contiguous in the Big X? Anyway, I don't see it happening.

Arky isn't going anywhere because they are in the mighty SEC. Geographically would make more sense but I just don't see it. Don't they get more revenue from the SEC than they would the Big XII?

If all the scenerios worked out and the SEC had to pick from GT and FSU, why would they pick GT? To me it would make more sense to pick from Clemson and FSU and probably go FSU. It's all about $$$$$$ and as much of a homer as I am, it just makes no sense to go after GT when you have cash cows out there like FSU and Clemson. To be honest, I wish Tech was in the SEC to shut up all of you mouth breathers.

  2. getting Tech would be a good thing for the SEC. more bids to the to NCAA tourny. Already have rivals with Auburn and Georgia. i just think Tech would be a good addition. but im with you, i dont think its going to happen.

  4. The only good thing about swapping Ark for Ga Tech would be the GPAs. If Ga Tech came to the SEC all that would do is make there be 2 Vandys. I say go after FSU of Miami, but I do not think either one would leave the soft ACC schedule for the SEC schedule.

As far as Texas, the Big 10 or Big 12, who gives a SHIT?

  5. PJ's balls need to stay where they are at. He could never compete in the SEC day in and day out, defence is way to fast for a 1960's offence
