Jerseys

Does anyone remember when running backs in the NFL had more life? With that question who would pick up Tomlison or Westbrook? I think both could go to another team and make a great addition. In saying that it is hard to see the greats in another jersey (ie Emmit).

  1. LT is done. I think Westbrook has some life left.
Seems like the life span started to decline around the late 90's. Guess they cleaned up and had to get off the roids?

    Eric "The Dick" Dickerson
    Walter Payton
    Emmitt
Barry Sanders still had 4/5 yrs left.
    Gerald Riggs
    Roger Craig
    Tom Rathman
    The Edge
    The Bus (hated him)
    John Riggins
and so on!!!! They don't make'em like they used to.

  2. those are some good names man. I feel like LT has more life than westbrook. i heard that brees is begging the saints to bring him in. its just how small of a roll will he accept. i think this would be a good move for the saints (assuming $ works out) because bush is NOT a 30 carry back. if they could split carries that would be a mean 2 back system. plus brees and LT have history from SD - as for westbrook, i have no clue where he could end up... maybe the colts...

as for seeing players in other jerseys. we should be getting used to this by now. starting when we saw joe montana in a chiefs jersey, rice in a raiders, etc. this really caught on in the 90's. reese made the point that the decline in the RB started in the late 90's. well free agency started in 1993 and i think what it did was turn the nfl (for better or worse) into a meat market. with no loyalty to teams or to players. franchises are getting the most out of their players while they have them because they know they will leave (or get booted) when ever one can get a better deal else where. its sad but i think it has helped. just not for the guy who wears jerseys. they are shit out of luck.
