Watch Out!

The roars got a little louder and louder Friday in Augusta.

My thoughts?  Hell Yea!  Come on Tiger!  Win you another green jacket and let the world know that you are back.

Could I be jumping the gun?  Hell yes I could be – but everyone of you knew, deep down inside, that he was coming – just a matter of when.

  1. I know a lot of people are saying Tiger is back and he very well may be. I don't know if I'd jump on that boat just yet.

Augusta is just one of those courses he can play swinging like a goon and get away with it. Look what he did last year after a 5 month layoff.

Yes, Tiger will be back and it is a matter of when not if. Today's game is a lot different than it was 10 years ago. The fields are deeper and he's not contending with the David Toms of the world for majors. He's actually playing some guys with equivalent talent. Tiger better hurry up and get his shit together, because when these young guns learn how to win he could be left in the dust.

  2. I'm not hating. I want him to do well. I want no excuses when someone puts it on his ass. Kind of like football, you want to beat the other guy at full strength. I'll tell you who's back and thats Adam Scott.

When looking at Adam Scott, all you are doing is looking at Tiger in the early 2000's. Same exact swing. Had Tiger never gotten a big head and stayed with Butch, who know's how many more majors he'd have.

  3. tiger doesn't wear stupid pants to look like payne stewart to some touney years ago and Reese hates him for life!

  4. That comment makes zero sense Joseph.

  5. Reese has always hated Tiger, like I said, haters gonna hate. He will be back. And I also agree with Reese, that comment didn't make a bit of sense Joe. Don't know if Adam Scott is back, but he's made some huge strides in the right direction. I used to think he'd be the player to challenge Tiger and then he fell off the face of the Earth. Looks like he's getting everything figured out.

  6. several years back they had some tourney and everyone thought it would be cute to dress like payne stewart on the same day he passed away or some shit - and tiger showed up with out the stupid pants on and was like the only one who didn't do as they asked. and since then, all the people who just loved payne stewart has hated Tiger. that was what was behind my comment.

  7. The only thing wrong with Adam Scott's game was his putter. Tee to green has never left him. The long putter is on fire for him.

Also, I'll be the first to admit that I don't like Tiger. You know Jack was hated by many back in the day, because he came in a stole Arnie's thunder. People called Jack a fat asshole back then. I'll also be the first to say that I'll be pulling for Tiger at Augusta when he's all "washed up" and in his mid 50's and pulls a green jacket out of his ass ala Jack in '86.

  8. I forget who it was on Around the Horn yesterday, maybe Cowlishaw, but they claimed it was a classic choke job on the back nine for Tiger. If you think about it, it really was. Look at his card and look at how he did on the "scoring holes". Classic choke job there Eldrick.

  9. I said the same exact thing on Sunday and got blasted by a few of my buddies. Their retort was "since when is a 67 on Sunday at the Masters a choke job?" My response was that anytime you 3 putt 12 (one of the easiest greens), fail to birdie 13 (the easiest par 5), miss a 4 footer for eagle on 15 AND your name is Tiger Woods its choking. If you look back throughout his career the putter has always saved him. He has been spraying the ball all over the place for several years now, but his ability to scramble and make the pressure putts bailed him out. I am not sure where I saw this, but someone said that Tiger slayed all the elephants and got beat by the squirrels. Basically, he fixed what most thought were his major flaws only to be undone by the smallest ones. The most glaring stat of the week - in my humblest opinion - is SIX THREE PUTTS.

  10. He should have birdied at 13 at worst being 180 out. #12 missed a 3 foot putt for par. #15 missed an 8 footer for eagle, so yeah he didn't score like he had to when you put yourself in that position. What beat Tiger was the two over par Saturday round. He was making golf shots all day on Sunday so its hard for me to say he choked down the stretch. The only really bad shot I recall was his second on the 13th, and his chip too for that matter.

  12. Joe...do you ever provide any relevant material?

John, I respect what you are saying and it made me rethink using the word choke. I guess Tiger just set the bar so damn high in the past that when you see him charging up the leaderboard you expect him to finish strong. Maybe the new reality of Tiger just hasn't set in yet. You are right on about 13. The iron shot wasn't the worst I've seen, but the chip wasn't even close. You expect - at worst - that he puts that within 8 feet for birdie.

I was at a loss for words when he missed the eagle at 15. Those are the type of situations that used to bring out the best in Tiger.
