Cod Locks for 9/12

last week was not a good start for me. I went 0 - 2 and really didn't have a shot in any of the 2 games. ND was a little better than I expected (or Nevada just sucks) and LSU didn't look like the top 10 ten I was expecting. they looked more like the average team from last year. anyway I sucked. 0 and 2 is unacceptable and I will turn it around this week.

what better way to start one of these blogs than 2 picks that cant lose. I want everyone to be clear here. I'm gonna throw out several games at the end of this but only 2 of them have ATM on it.

SMU @ UAB
with UAB laying 12 points.

Last week SMU played Stephen F. Austin at home. [Mustang quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell scored on fourth-and-1 with 7:47 left in the game to help the Mustangs (1-0) erase a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit and take a 24-23 lead.] did you catch the part in that that said 9 point 4th qt deficit? to Stephen F Austin? this game was 23-14 going in the 4th qt. SFA had 6 turn overs in this game, 5 of them picks with 4 of them coming in the 1st 3 quarters. what im saying here is that they threw 4 picks and still had a 9 point lead going into the 4th qt. this game wasn't close because SFA was playing lights out, this game was this close because SMU is that bad. come on, maybe I'm underestimating the power that SFA has and if so then please forgive me, but this is the same team that went 4 - 8 last year losing their last 5 games by an average of 14 points. this team is a D2 team by the way. also, smu hasn't won a game on the road since 2006. i know they don't have to win here but these guys don't travel very well. after seeing that UAB put up 516 total yards on rice (which is way better than smu) and beat them by 20 (44-24) it is safe for me to assUme that UAB can win by more than 12 points. normally when i see a game that looks to good to be true, like this one, i try my best to try to figure out why. i cant! i tried! you try and see what you come up with, but this has COD LOCK all over it.

Neil Calloway and the UAB blazers win big in front of the home crowd by 21 points. UAB 45 SMU 24.

TCU -12 at Virgina

please, someone tell me why in the world Al Groh still has a job. they got beat by William and Mary last week. say that out loud and tell me you dont chuckle. "Virgina got beat by William and Mary last week" (then you start to chuckle) any way. TCU allowed the fewest TD's than any other team in D1 last year and i dont see UVA scoring one this weekend. Patterson is the hottest coach not at a BCS school and he has got the TCU horny frogs playing at a level that we never thought we would see. they finished in the top 10 last year in the final ap poll and they can line up and play with anybody. they had the number 1 ranked D in the nation last year and they can grind it out. they go to Va and only lay 12 points. come on. this is TCU's opener and last year they opened with a decent Baylor team and won 27 to 0. Va may not score in this game and i see TCU putting up at least 20. even if Va gets lucky and scores a TD they still dont cover. Al Groh works on his resume after this game when TCU handles them convincingly.

TCU 27 Va 6

other games i like...

Southern Cal -7 @ Ohio State. I'm a little nervous about a true freshman QB going into the horse shoe in front of 100k people but not enough to over look that Pete Carroll owns the Big 10.

Houston +15 1/2 @ Oklahmoa State. Houston has a much better offense than Georgia. they will come in to Okl St thinking they can win. they will not be scared of the national ranking. last year Houston beat both ranked teams they played and they also beat Okl St back in 06. not saying Houston wins but think they can score enough points to keep it under 15 1/2.

Bowling Green +19 @ Mizzo. Bowling Green had a long week after they beat Troy last Thursday at home and Mizzo has very young team this year. they lost their QB, and 2 first round draft picks. graduated 22 seniors and this year only has 14 on the team. i think the line is this high because Mizzo has a ranking and a little history up putting up big numbers. not this year. (i don't think)

feel free to post some of you picks also

and remember, i do not recomend gambling. its not a good thing and it can over take you.
