420

Today is April 20th also known as 4.20.  This number has significant meaning with in the pot smoking community.  Some people say its the international smoke time.  some people say its the day of the year that we should push for the legalization of marijuana.  Other dope smokers smoke so regularly that they are not sure what today’s date is anyway.

Today always gets me to thinking about the legalization of Marijuana.  I’m curious of what the down falls would be.  I may be wrong but I’m not sure if I have ever heard of someone getting stoned and beating their wife and kids up and that seems to be a pretty regular occurrence with alcohol.  Cigarettes are estimated to kill over 2.5 million people a year (not sure how accurate that stat is but who cares, its a shit load of people) and they are obviously good enough to be legal.  So why not pot?

The legalization issue is normally where my conservative friends and myself seem to differ the most.  I cant, for the life of me, understand why its not legal and taxed.

Also, today is Hitler’s Birthday – So if any of you are Jew Haters then I guess you can use 4.20 as a day to remember the biggest Jew Hater in history.  (I would hope that we dont have any Jew haters – Jesus was a Jew for Christ sake.  pun)

Lebron James

Is it just me or is he one of the most cocky superstars out there? He is without a doubt the best player in the NBA right now and will possibly go down as the greatest ever, but to me he has zero class. All the dancing, flexing, shit talking, etc..... did Jordan ever do all of that crap? In my opinion, no. Jordan would just abuse you on offense, hound you on defense and drop 50 on you. The Cavaliers in general just come off as a bunch of punks. Maybe it's because they haven't been there before and just don't know how to handle themselves. This is a far cry from the days of Mark Price, Craig Ehlo and Brad Daugherty. I am tired of all of the Lebron slurping that goes on every time he plays. The dude is a freak of nature and sweats out more talent than a lot of people will ever have in their lifetime, but enough is enough. If you want to be an ambassador to the game, get rid of all of the side-show bullshit.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

College Football

I got to watch the A-Day game over the weekend and I am more ready for college football then ever before. Who else is ready to here the crack of the pads?? Bama looked pretty good in the scrimmage. If Ingram hadn't won the Heisman, I think there would be some serious competition for the starting running back position. The defense has me pretty nervous with only 2 returning starters and the special teams will be a huge question mark going into the season. I know this is a homer post, but I haven't seen or heard much about any of the other spring games. I did hear that UGAy booted one of their highly touted freshman quarterbacks. What is it with them these days? I believe that Auburn had their spring game this past weekend as well. Maybe Culpecker can give us a report. Other than that, bring on college football.

Loser

inter

Take a look at a Dip Shit.  This guy, along with his buddy, was at the Phillies game the other night screaming as loud as they could profanity and were both obviously drunk.  They were sitting right behind a man with his family including his 11 year old daughter.  The man turned and asked the two to stop cussing and they continued.  The man’s partner got tossed from the game and this Dip Shit pictured above thought he would retaliate on the man and his family.  So he decided on what he thought would be a good way.  He then sticks two fingers down his throat and vomits all over the man and his 11 year old daughter.  Then the guy tries to escape before security could come but Philly fans were not going to stand for it.  The crowd around the dip shit grab him and starts beating the shit out of the guy until security arrived.  He is currently being held on a 35,000 bail.

Hats off to Philly fans.

Jim Nantz on Tiger

Source: Yahoo / Link is HERE – There are plenty of links in this article.  anything in red you can click

Before the Masters started, Tiger Woods told us that he had changed. His outbursts would be quieted, his club tossing would be softened and he was going to be a different guy on the golf course.

No matter if you bought that or not, it's true that the weekend brought out some of the old Tiger. He screamed "Tiger, you suck!," only to follow that up with a profanity unlike any other in the third round. On Sunday on the 13th,Woods screamed "Jesus Christ!" after a tee shot and he wasn't complimenting the man upstairs.

It wasn't something new with Tiger, but it is something he told us would be avoided in the future. Jim Nantz, the voice of CBS at the Masters, had a chance to talk with Mike Francesa of WFAN on Monday, and let it be known that he wasn't happy with the way Woods acted.

"If I said what he said on the air, I would be fired. I read in the USA Today and it was called “mild language.” Someone on my broadcast dismissed it as him having a camera in his face. Well, guess what? Phil Mickelson had a camera in his face all week and did you even hear him come close to approaching that? He didn’t hit every shot the way he wanted. Have you ever heard Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus use that kind of language? What are the parameters between what’s right or wrong?"

Nantz then admitted that this isn't something that has disturbed him in the past, but the fact that Tiger promised us a change is why it rubbed him the wrong way. He mentioned that he doesn't speak perfectly, but when the red light is on, he has things he cannot say.

He also said that there are people watching the telecast that shouldn't be subjected to such profanities.

"How about the father and son who are standing right there by the tee? How about the hundreds of people who are around that tee who hear that? How about the hundreds of letters I’ve gotten through the years from people who have been outraged at the language they’ve heard there and have written me and said, ‘Why don’t you guys ever say something about that?’"

Nantz obviously has some great points here. If you're going to cuss when the cameras are rolling over a live broadcast, that is one thing, but when you tell us you won't and still do it, it sure makes you look bad. Especially for a guy trying to bulldoze his past image.

Thoughts on Tiger's return.....

I think that overall, Tiger played better than expected. Augusta is a true test of golf and after a 5 month layoff he finished at -11. Not too shabby for his first tournament of the year. The struggles that he had, in my opinion, are the same ones he normally deals with: sprayed the driver left & right and struggled with his putter. Tiger has always been a streaky putter and when he gets hot, it's lights out for the rest of the field. That being said, when he is off it is just the opposite. However, I am more interested in hearing peoples thoughts on the overall atmosphere of his return. I think that a lot of what Tiger said in his 3 or 4 interviews put him under the microscope even more. Telling everyone that he was going to tone down his outbursts - both good and bad - and be more humble on the course set him up for disaster. I don't know about you, but I live for those fist pumps that just about rip his arm out of socket and I like the emotion that he shows on the course. Take that away and you take away a big part of what makes Tiger....well....Tiger. No other golfer gets the coverage that he does. He has a camera & microphone on him just about every shot of every round. Let's be honest, would any of us like to have a camera crew following us during our rounds? My favorite quote that was caught on camera was "Tiger Woods....You Suck" after his tee shot at a par 3. How many of us have said that and much worse after a tee shot? All in all, I think that it will be back to golf from here on out. In my opinion, people need to get over it. Yeah, he let a lot of people down, especially the kids. But to me, that is where it needs to end. If you are an adult and Tiger Woods is your role model or hero, I feel sorry for you.

BamaJam

BamaJam is coming up on us very soon and I’m REALLY excited.  This is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  I absolutely love it.  From Thursday around 2 O’Clock till Sunday morning around 2 AM I will be having a blast.  This will be its 3rd year and my 3rd year.  Weather is a complete non-issue.  The first year it was the hottest 3 days you can possibly imagine.  They had people with water hoses that would skirt you to cool you off.  The dust and dirt would cake on you and almost everyone had black rings around their necks like some of the fat people you see at Walmart and I had a complete blast.  I took Parker and Rachel the 2nd night to see Old Crow Medicine show and we all danced the entire show.  parker.rachelThen went over to the other stage where Lynyrd Skynard was about to play and the crowd was getting a little crazy and since there were about 100,000 people there I thought we may want to go ahead and get the girls home.  (also, snuck back stage so we wouldn’t have to walk through the crowd and almost got hit by Trace Adkins on a golf cart)  the last night I went by myself to see Bocephus and rocked out and met a bunch of good people. (none of them i have spoken to since or could tell you any of their names)

Then last year we did it right.  We got Traci’s parents to keep the kids all weekend and Par-Ham and his wife, Gator and his girlfriend, and Traci and I 4716_1155775700306_1405137924_30432474_3029767_ndid it up.    The first day it rained like hell.  (note that weather does not matter)  Mofro was like the 2nd or 3rd act on the first day and I was rocking as hard as I ever have.  Just JAMIN!!!  I took a nap (passed out) in the grass once the rain started after Mofro and this is how we started the weekend out.  The next day Robert Randolph melted my face off while everybody else was over listening to Jason Aldeen (speling – green tractor guy).   robert That night we closed it down with the Black Crowes and I will say, with out any hesitation, that Chris Robinson is the last true Rock Star!  Watching him perform in front of crowd that you couldn’t see the end of was just amazing.  Then on the last night Kid Rock closed it down.   Their were still plenty of families left over after Brooks and Dunn but when Kid Rock came out and said, “you aint never seen a motha fucka quite like this!”  all of the remaining children left with their parents and that was a good thing…

This year we have several acts that I am looking forward to seeing.  First you have the “headliners” that I could really give a damn about ie Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert etc..  But who I am looking forward to seeing the most is a group by the name of Lucero.

Robert Earl Keen has always been one of my favorites

and I really can’t wait to see him.  I can just picture a beautiful day, with good people, “feelin’ good again” – really really excited about him.

Another group that I have been listening to lately but have not been fortunate enough to see live is Blackberry Smoke.

They seem right up my alley.

Also I think Travis Tritt will put on a good show.  I love the Allman Brothers but am a little nervous about Greg Allman with out Dickie Betts.  Stoney Larue has got potential to be a really good show and Traci is looking forward to seeing Train sing “hey soul sister” but I watched Train open for Dave several several years back and I’m hoping they have gotten better live.  Zac Brown will also be there and its always fun to be able to tell people how he sang in my wedding.  Hank Jr is also returning and he if his show is half as good as the year before last then I will be horse from screaming, “hey man, them high heel sneckers….  AND THEY SURE DONT LOOK LIKE COWBOY BOOTS!!!!”

All and all it is sure to be a very fun weekend and the fact that our house is 10 miles from the event makes it about as convenient as it can be.

The Parhams are returning and I’m sure we will have other people show up for the weekend also.

You are all invited and I hope to see you the first weekend in JUNE.

Elite

We have 10 people in our Masters pool and 4 of them are in the top 90% of all perticpants on ESPN.  Greg is in the 98.9% and that is truly amazing, especially for a dip ship like Greg.

Culpepper didn’t even submit his team and Reese is thankful because he would be dead last if he had.  I spent most of the day at the top of the leader board but then went to shit.

At the end of the first day - Pin High Right is sitting at –15 in the lead and Jimbo just one behind at –14.  Jody and Pulley are tied for 3rd at –13 and Pulley seems to think that he is going to win this thing.  The you have Traci at –11 feeling pretty good about her chances.  D Bailey (i dont know him) is tied with Joey at –10.  Then you have the bottom feeders, Reese and I, sitting at –8 and –9 respectfully.

We will see who made changes to their team and now that Culpepper spotted us a day we will also see if anyone other than him finishes last.  This will make finishing last even more embarrassing if Pepper makes a run…

Instead of a funny clip, thought I would show one of the first Golf moments that I can remember.  (keep in mind.. I’m a “new comer:)

maybe, just maybe, we will be fortunate enough to witness something like this on Sunday.

I know it is early

One of the great ambassadors of the game today shot –5 in the opening round today, I know it is the first round but oh how I would love to see Tom Watson have a chance on Sunday. After all he did almost win the British Open last year at the tender age of 59. I know most people are pulling for Tiger, Phil, or Ernie but when it comes to Augusta I get nostalgic and nothing would make me happier then Tom and Freddie being in the last group on Sunday. Probably won’t happen but if it did it would be my favorite Masters ever.

Masters

Why the hell don’t the Masters get full coverage?  Is CBS having to pay to much for March Madness?  This Tourney should be getting coverage from bell to bell.  Either on USA, ESPN 2, ESPN U, ESPN CLASSIC, or any0ther network.  I got to wait till 2 O’Clock to watch…  Anyway, I gots the internets so I be kooo.

I got real aggressive on my Masters team.  I used Eliott as a consultant so if and when I win – I will be giving props to E.P.  We didn’t go with people that we wanted to make sure would make the cut.  Since you can change your team at the end of every day we decided to go with people that were likly to give us birdies.  And we already have a birdie on #1.

If you picked Tiger today then you are a moron.  He has never shot below 70 on the first round of the Masters.  I actually think he has a better chance to miss the cut than to win and I can not believe that he is getting 4/5 odds to win this thing.  I mean really, and this is coming from the “new comer” that thinks he is the greatest ever.

Phil and Ernie are both getting 2/1 with Harrington coming in just a shad higher at 11/4.  I don’t think you are getting good money on any of these players.

Then in the next tier you got Furyk at 11/2 and  Stricker at 7/2, Casey and Goosen at 9/2 – still dont think you are getting good enough money to make this a smart wager.

In my mind when wagering on an event like this you want to get the most out of your money.  So the 3rd tier of odds are who I would go after. Now obviously their is a reason they are getting these odds so your not trying to pick the winner, your trying to pick the guy with the best chance to win that will pay the most.

My pick to win the Masters (that will pay the most) is Sean O’Hair at 10/1 odds.

If you are going to join in this discussion then plan on having a pick – and dont give me no B.S. 2/1 pick.  I want a sleeper.

With out question, The greatest Golf movie EVER!!

As I said yesterday, I will be posting Golf clips for the rest of this week.  The jackass clip was pretty funny but this one should bring back some good memories…

If anyone disagrees that this is not the Greatest Golf Movie Ever then do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself.  You will look like a clown if you publicly disagree with this.

Idol

Idol was kind of crazy last night.  This is back to back weeks that I didn’t think Bowersox did the best.  Casey’s performance was the first time in Idol history that I actually watched a performance twice.  Really, I thought he nailed it.  And then Lee, to close the show, brings out a bag pipe player and rocked out to “hey Jude” – Simon and the rest of the judges didn’t like the bag pipe player but I loved it.  Big Mike (who I don’t like) still gets good things from the judges so I’m thinking right now that these are the Final 4 w/ Bowersox getting a 1 seed, Lee getting a 2 seed, Casey a 3 seed, and Mike a 4 seed.  So who wins?  They need to go ahead a kick the rest of the people off the show.  I mean the that one chick had a decent night but I don’t even know her name – that said, I’m starting to lose interest in it.  They just draaaaagggg it out to long man.  I mean last night I missed Dancing with the Stars because I had to sit through 5 shit dicks singing that have no business still being on this show.

Masters

The Masters are upon us and I can not remember a major with this much anticipation.   Tiger is obviously the talk of Augusta and some people seem to think that this will distract Tiger.  Listen, when was the last Masters Tiger played in that all the talk wasn’t about him?  He knows how to handle this and I don’t think he has ever been this focused.  So many people are saying how much of a distraction his personal life will be this weekend..  The guy obviously had some distractions going on before.  I mean really, he was texting porn stars about anal sex before.  I would say that would be a little bit of a distraction.  I’m pulling for him.  He asked for my forgiveness and I said, “you got it Tiger.”

When I think about making a 100 million  a year, I have to accept the fact that I would probably make some mistakes.  I would hope that sleeping with attractive women all over the world wouldn’t be one of them (unless I was not married, then this is exactly what I would be doing) but I have no doubt that I would screw up some things.  I’m sure I would hurt some peoples feelings getting caught up in my own greed and not holding myself to the same standard as everyone else.  And when this happened I would hope that the people that I did effect on would find it in themselves to forgive me.  I’m not suggesting that he does not disserve some consequences, but isn’t that for him and God, I mean Buddha, to take up?

So moving on to Tiger and the Masters.  How is he going to do?  Do you care?  Are you pulling for him?  Are you pulling against him?  Are you tired of hearing his name?  If you are not pulling for him, then  who are you pulling for?

Its Masters Week so lets have some Masters talk.  I also will be trying to post Golf related videos this week.

Census Guy

I dont know if this story has any truth to it at all but either way its pretty funny.  I will tell the short version.  Mother of an Autistic kid gets a call from her son and he says, “thrsandwarfher canikeepem” The mother is not sure what the little boy was saying so she just says, “sure honey.”  Then the mother gets home and hears something in the closet.  She opens the door and there is a midget from the census standing in the closet.  He appears to be scared to death.  He explained that when he knocked on the door the kid grabbed him, brought him inside and called her to say that there is a dwarf here – can i keep him.

Damn It!

I was really enjoying the game last night.  Traci and the girls went to bed and I was up by myself.  Man this game is good, this is what we have been waiting for.  I good, fundimental, basketball game with no thugs.   Then, with about 12 minutes to go in the 2nd half, my eyes start to get to real heavy..   The last thing I saw was 8 min. to go and then I woke up to the news.  I was so pissed off, especially, when I found out how it ended.  So, I’m sorry to say, I can not give you much thoughts on the game it self but I can offer these things from last night.

1) Wasn’t it fun to watch a National Title game with no thugs?

2) When coach K took the Duke job – Butlers head coach was 3.

3) Saw the highlights of Evan Turner winning his award and their is a pretty big difference in his mother and Nolan Smith’s mother.  Mrs. Turner appeared to have – just had her hair did and wanted to go to churches to celebrate, maybe even get extra bbq sauce.   Nolan’s mother, on the other hand, appeared that her kid, well, went to Duke.

4) Butler’s mascot is much cooler than Dukes.

5) Clark Kellogg did a great job, but he did slip up and drop a “strenf” one time.

6) Was happy to see Da’sean Butler at half time.  I said it on sunday, this kid needs to be getting some press and I give CBS a thumbs up for having him on at halftime.  Da’sean is everything that is right in college basketball.

Braves crushed the cubbies yesterday and in case you have not.. JASON HEYWARD IS THE REAL DEAL!!!  kid jacks one out on his first major league at bat making him like the youngest player to hit a homer on his first major league at bat since the 50’s or something.  (i’m not totally sure about that record but i saw where it was a big deal)   The Braves pitching looked suspect but I was more worried about the bats and that didn’t seem to be an issue yesterday.

Dawgs cleared in Taxigate incident.

Turns out only one of the four black guys in the taxi was a football player. And he was trying to play peacemaker during the incident. So there you go, the thugs were actually a few guys from Heard County. On another note, Richt kicked Montez Robinson off the team on Sunday. This guy has been in trouble since he arrived on campus. He was a highly recruited DE from up north, but he seems to have anger management problems and has problems with women. Oh well, hope the kid gets his head on his shoulders because right now he's on a path to the state pen.

On “Ga Thug” issue

or Alleged Ga Thug issue.  I want to say that I’m not sure kicking them off the team is a fitting punishment.  Lets be clear here.  The guys didn’t even harm anyone.  They bitch slapped some body and talked shit to his wife.  I’m not sure that disserves being removed from the team for ever.  And lets be clear that this is an ALLEGED event and that as of right now their still have not been any charges filled and how hard is it to find pictures of every player on the team.  I mean really, how hard would it be to get a media guide and ask the people to point at the guys who did it?  they were in a cab for christ sake, I’m sure they got a good look at them.  And the fact that no charges have been filled makes me think even less of the story. Lets be clear that their are 3 sides to every story.  I think that it wouldn’t be fair to say lets kick these guys off the team based on a story from someone that had obviously been drinking and was quick to judge these guys as football players but didn’t even know who they were.   I mean really, do you think that a Football player in the middle of spring practice would be out after curfew eating hotdogs getting drunk and slapping people around in cabs?  I will not assume that the guy is telling the truth and I will not assume that they are even football players.  But if it turns out that they are and the story was close to the truth – then suspend for the first 2 games.   Just my 2 cents.

UGA thugs

OK so we all realize all UGA players are thugs. It matters not that they are animals, but that they can run fast and talk shit like a bunch of inbreeds. I came across THIS (click the link)today and with it being April fools I didn't know to believe it or take it as a joke. It's kind of like "The boy who cried wolf". These punks have done so much shit in the past that this doesn't really shock me. So I ask is this real or fake??????

Added pic just to get some views.
