This guy better dog tick Gus and hang on for dear life.

I love this blog!!

I love this blog, all the bloggers, all the shit talking, all the senseless drivel and all of the people that stop in to read what we have to say. The past two days have been some of the best I have seen.

How it went down

If it is not totally obvious by now that I am stuck in a hospital room then it will be now.  I have resorted to doing a post about posts… But anyway, it’s 11:30 at night and I have been up for about 20 hours straight so who gives a shit.

I think it got lost that Pulley did start off by recognizing that he has been WAY one sided and needed to make a post that wasn’t so Alabama biased.   Then shortly after removed all doubt in everyone’s mind that he not capable of that by saying, “Alabama is God.”  (the context was very sarcastic though which does give me hope that he is capable of posting on something other than Bama – and he even did do a little Cliff Lee post that got totally lost in all of today’s activities)

Then Pepper answered some questions about Cam and for some reason threw in a “28-27 ‘take the money and run’ straight through the Bamar defense”  Which I thought was very creative and a pretty damn good jab.

Then Pulley, surprisingly, does not go straight to personal attacks, he states - “I don't want to slight or cheapen the Auburn victory” – which was shocking.

At this point Pepper obviously smelled blood in the water and attacked like a sting ray swimming near Steve Irwin.  Dropping heavy profanity and a huge slap in the face with a “you finished 4th in the SEC west. Nice season!”

Pulley was being punched pretty hard and why he decided to try to involve Starrett here I will not understand.   It seemed he had his hands pretty full with Pepper.

Then out of the blue Anthony Jumps in wanting to know why starrett gets called out and he doesn’t with a pretty good little jab of his on “Cam got your tongue” comment.

Pulley was backed into a corner and came out swinging and swinging hard.  Asking really good questions and personally attacking Auburns best player in typical Pulley fashion with “He is a cocky ass punk”

Then the shit hit the fan.  Traci laid the wood to Anthony in what I thought was the best post of the day.  to much good shit to quote, find the comment yourself and read the whole thing.

Pulley voiced his admiration for Traci.

Anthony then responds (to pulley not traci.  Anthony has to see traci ) with some pretty damn good questions of his own.  Anthony at this point became a member of the blog in my eyes.  He was just a tweeter (or cleeter as pulley calls it) man and this was his first good sit down thought provoking comment.

I just realized how much meaningless bullshit i have typed out and it would be easier for someone to just actually read what happened so I am stopping now.  again, i have been up way to long and they just came and took the baby so i am going to try and sleep for an hour or 2.  expect a good bit of blogging from this week.  hopefully they will be better than the shit i just typed out.

Pulley vs Lee Round 100

Why do you keep blaming Saban for the loss? Please explain to me - finally - this sick infatuation that you have with him. Last I checked he wasn't suited up & playing in the game. Did Saban fumble the ball into the end zone after a 50 yard catch & run? Did Saban drop the wide open play action pass in the end zone? Did Saban fumble after being sacked and cost Bama a field goal? Did Saban overrun the pass on the second play of the second half and give up the touchdown? If you answer yes to any of those questions, please do the following: Open mouth, insert gun and pull the effing trigger. Ingram, Richardson, McElroy and Barron would be the responsible parties. I had hoped to play nice with the Auburn fans the rest of the year, but it seems impossible now. The Barns are very quick to point out how many times they have won the Iron Bowl, so why don't you fucking act like you have been there before? Its like your boon ass qb running around acting a fool after the game. If that was an Alabama player, you would be all over him. So don't tell me about his winning personality, megawatt smile or any other line of bullshit. He is a cocky ass punk. The best player in college football - HANDS DOWN, but a cocky ass punk all the same.

Sincerly,

Crimson Colored, Mouth Breathing, Opinionated, Asshole....................

Pulley

Pulley Pepper fight Round 1

Just incase anyone doesn’t read the comments on my post about my child i thought i would give the cliff notes to what is turning out to be a pretty good fight.

Pepper: 28-27 "take the money and run" straight through the Bammer defense!

Pulley: I have some comments on the Bama - Auburn game, but as I have stated previously I don't want to slight or cheapen the Auburn victory. In the end, a win is a win no matter how I or anyone else sees it.

Pepper: If I were you I would have some comments too like FUCK, SHIT, DAMN, and JESUS CHRIST!
Let me guess the 2 best RBs in the world shouldn't have fumbled and caught a TD pass your probably right but they didn't and that is why you finished 4th in the SEC west. Nice season!

Pulley: I have never - EVER - stated that Richardson and Ingram are the two best RB's in the world. Kind of thought you would give me a little more credit than that Pepper. Guess you have been sipping from the same cup as John. My comments are as follows: That wasn't a win, it was a gift. You know as well as I do that Auburn didn't deserve to win that game. But, as I said the night of the game, it cheapens it all to say that. Bottom line is that Alabama didn't deserve to win that game, but neither did Auburn. Anyway, luck has to be on your side and the breaks have to go your way to go undefeated in college football. Alabama had several last year, Florida had then during their run and Auburn has had a few this year. The trick now is to finish it. SC will be a tough game. It would be a shame to get caught looking ahead.

Pepper, your up.

Cliff Lee to the Yankees?

Would it really surprise anyone? Back in the playoffs it was reported that Lee's wife was spit on and verbally assaulted by Yankee fans. Did anyone actually think that this would stop him from (potentially) signing with the them?

Now I don't know her from the next famous trophy wife, but I don't see the following conversation taking place:

Cliff Lee: Honey, should I take the $160 million that the Yankees are offering me?
Wife: No dear. The fans spit on me and called me a whore.
Cliff Lee: You are right babe. I should take less money and stay in Texas. Thanks for the advice.

I picture it more like this:

Cliff Lee: Packs you bags trick. Daddy is getting paid and we are heading to NYC.

I am not even sure how many of the bloggers follow baseball. Just thought I would see what anyone had to say.

Audrey Lynn and some other stuff

Thanks Reese for posting the pic.  I got more.  And I really don’t care if you bastards don’t care anymore, I’m pretty sure that if this wasn’t my child that I would have lost interest by now also.   but it is my child, and I do have access to the blog so here is an update.  149238_1730795115432_1405137924_31871959_3695022_n

Audrey was born at 7:01 central time this morning and was healthy and everything went perfect.  Traci is doing great and we are already settled in.  Parker and Rachel have both loved on her and the baby hasn’t really cried yet.  I mean a little of your typical shit when we put her down but all and all this is looking to be another great baby.  I’ll put up some video a little later after some people clear out.

Tomorrow night Prince James is going back to Cleveland and I look forward to seeing some of the worst fans in all of sports (next to philly) greet him back.  should be some good greetings.  and even better posters.

The Duke game I mentioned yesterday that was coming on “tonight” wasn’t last night, it is tonight.  They play Michigan State and it will probably be a doozie.  K and Izz are head and shoulders above everyone else in college basketball as my 2 favorite coaches and I look forward to them meeting tonight.

FSU got spanked last night by Ohio state in Tallahassee.  the Noles typically play pretty good b ball at home, i don’t know if they are bad or if Ohio St is going to move right on after Evans departure.

I am going to try and work on a post about Mike Vick.  I just read a really good article about him in SI and it said alot of stuff that I had been really hoping for.  I think he has potential to be really good story and I want to share some of the things that I think some of you guys would like also.

finebaum just tweeted that Auburn has been cleared in the Newton deal.  I don’t know to what extent but would love for Pepper to share some things – I know he is following it very closely.

Baby

I will refer to this baby as.. just that, BABY – the name as of right now is Audrey but we are assuming it is a girl based off of the ultra sound a long time ago.  The lady said there was a “hamburger” (i guess instead of a hotdog) BUT this is not certain.  so there is still a chance a little boy comes out of … you know.

The schedule:  we check in at 5:00 am (all times listed are central) and the surgery is scheduled to start at 6:45.  This shouldn’t be a very long surgery so I’m excepting a baby by 7:00ish.

I will have limited access to my laptop early so I will be tweeting from the surgery room just for the blog.  That is dedication my friends.

I also plan on doing some video and plan on uploading the video to the blog before anything else.

Guys, this will be Southern Fried’s first child birth – And its happening the week of the SEC Championship.  I hadn’t spoke to Traci about this, i’m sure she will be fine with it, but I am planning on making every author of the blog a partial God parent.

Touching base

Just a few quick things before tomorrow.

I did a post earlier this year after the Saints beat the Vikings about how sick I was of Brett Favre.. well, it’s even worse now.  That bastard has gotten on my last nerve.  Pre-Madonna bitch is what he is.  and I firmly believe that he gets a pass because he is white.  If he were a black man then he would be hated like T.O.

Georgia struggled this year, I understand this.  And I really don’t give 2 shits if any of you disagree with me here but I am glad Coach Mark Richt is still our Head Football Coach.  I am excited about watching Todd Grantham’s Defense next year the more 3-4 style talent he gets.  And I can’t wait to see how long Bobo keeps the 30+ points a game streak alive into next year.  Again, if you are not a Georgia fan then why do you give a damn if I' want Richt?  If you think he should be fired then fine, be happy that I want him to stay because if he sucks that bad then that is one less game you have to worry about..

Basketball has started and Georgia has 2 guys that are studs.  They still are a major work in progress but when the Dawgs hired Fox I was wanting the black at Alabama and it turns out that Georgia made the right choice.  I was wrong.

Staying with Basketball a little bit, if you hadn’t watched Duke any this year they have a game tonight and you may want to check it out.  Those boys are really fun to watch.

And while we are talking about B.Ball . The Heat is 10-8 HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!  Don’t get to happy if your Prince James hater like myself.  I got a bad feeling that things are going to start clicking for them sooner rather than later.

Kudos to Auburn.  I picked against you bastards pretty much all year and you always seem to come up strong when it counts.  I think Burns disserves a ton of credit for this teams turn around.  Auburn is the perfect example of a Team playing together and Burns is probably single handled the biggest reason for it.  He has done everything the coaches have asked him to, done with class, and done it for the better of the Team.  Great Job Burns!

As for the SEC championship game… that post will come a little later this week.

TCU to the Big EAst.  Any takers on who wins the Big East championship in 2012??

High School offense made Grantham shit pants!!

My Jackets were moving the ball at will on the mutts. CTG better have a little more respect for PJ now. PJ was putting on an option clinic with a backup QB, a very young OL, and a bunch on slap dicks on D. I've said this before and I'll say it now, I wouldn't trade coaches with anyone in the country. He does more with less better than anyone. So I give the dawgs some credit, they made the plays when they had to, but I'm already looking forward to next year an some poor sumbitch we lay down 500 yds on the ground on that ass. Oh and another thing, if 90k+ dawg fans were to have tried to fart last night only a dog could hear it.

Hats off to Auburn......

Helluva game. Can't say much more than that. To say that Bama choked would almost take away from a great game and diminish or slight Auburn. Now they just need to finish the job and get the SEC another championship. Then we need to all pray like hell that Cam is innocent!! In all seriousness, Pepper and ALee, enjoy it. The best team won today.

As for John S..... nobody on this board gives a shit what you are thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving to the blog

I am thankful for the blog and all the personalities that go with it. I will elaborate...

1) Joe - King of the blog. I must say you have created a blog that I visit at least every weekday while at work. You have done a good job and I am thankful for that. Your insight provides a good point of view on the reg. However, you shot your load too early on the blog with Steinhatchee and have never come close to anything even remotely close to that. You are a Dawg though, which ranks you above most. Good job Joe, I'm thankful for you.

2) Reese - I am thankful for Reese's wisdom and insight on the horrible conference that is the ACC. GT is a hard team to pull for, but he does it week in and week out, year in and year out. Kudos for that. Reese will give the people hell on here who need it and he speaks the truth. He's been a great friend to me since middle school and for that, I am thankful for you.

3) Pepper - I am thankful that Pepper was not around me for that AU/UGA game, b/c he'd probably be in some trauma ward at a distinguished hospital right now. I would have done to him what Fairley did to Murray and he probably would have lost consciousness. But other than that, its good to have a fan from the west that sometimes makes valid points without flying off the handle. Pepper is knowledgeable about golf which I am thankful b/c he can provide good insight and information when we have a golf post. I probably met Pepper at Joe's wedding (but I don't remember) so I assume he's not a lot to write home about. Just kidding Pepper, had to throw a dig in at you, you provide good blog humor and information, so for that I am thankful.

4) Pulley - Wow, I am thankful for BP. All blogs need mindless mouthbreathers, and BP is ours. He rarely posts anything productive or insightful. Only posts with crimson glasses on. He bashes UGA any chance he gets and that is annoying. I've never heard him once compliment anything Georgia, so I pretty much have very little to be thankful of Pulley for. But, he takes a lot of shit on here from myself and most everyone else because he is so opinionated. And I like for someone to have as much passion about their team as Pulley has for Bama. In fairness, he loves Bama, so I will let him slide a little. Seriously, I would either get along great with BP (when Bama and UGA aren't in the disussion) or we would be hated enemies in real life, I'll lean toward getting along great as of now. He is a regular contributor to the blog so for that, I am thankful for BP.

5) Rusty, A. Lee, Jody - I haven't heard from Rusty since the Dawgs laid the smack down, Anthony Lee shows up out of nowhere when AU is like 8-0, and I have no clue what happened to Jody. I am thankful you guys read the blog and do not comment very much as you are probably not cut out for the hard knock life of blog posters on the reg. Rusty and Jody I am thankful for b/c they are both die hard fans of SEC schools and both seem very grounded as well. Jody is what I consider in the minority of Tide fans. He keeps a level head and does not think Bama could beat the Steelers any Sunday. Rusty seems like a good guy and ties his allegiange with Vols which won me money the last couple of weeks, so for that I am thankful. Not enough info. to really comment on Anthony as of yet. But I am thankful for all of you guys and your input.

On a serious note, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember that we all should give thanks.

OK Slap dicks, I'll get it going. My predictions and thoughts.

Iron Bowl: I want to say that Bama will win this game, but this is one of those magical years where everything is going right for Auburn. I mean hell they are getting all the breaks when they need one and you even make $180k just to play the QB position. Burn wins on a last minute field goal. Something like 27-24.

Clean Old Fashioned Hate: I love my jackets and will probably get my ass beat for wearing my "Old Gold" pants this weekend, but hey I have Starrett to back me when one of these frat fuckers tries to get in my face. Anyway, The dawgs should win this one by 30ish or so. I'm already looking forward to next year and just hope PJ can keep it closer than my 48-17 prediction. If PJ somehow pulled this one out, I'd shit pants for a week.

Kentucky @Tenn: This is for you Rusty............"VOL BALL BABY, VOL BALL" Dooley has these freaks playing some decent football and pulls this out with good D 28-17.

What is lost

What is being lost in this Cam Newton deal is that the Auburn Tigers are having one of their best seasons.  Cam Newton has become one of the best QB’s,and game changers, that we have seen since… well, since Tebow - but who ever thought that we would have another Tebow this soon?  Dyer just broke Bo Jackson’s freshman record.  The Chizz, in only his 2nd year, could be the National Coach of the year.  And the only thing that anyone is talking about is the scandal..  I don’t know about yall - but I hate the fact that a SEC school, like them or not, is having to go threw this.  If they are guilty then they will get there punishment, believe me!  The NCAA will rape them if they find out that Auburn did anything wrong.  But why can’t anyone sit back and say, “this team is doing an unbelievable job”

I don’t know about any of yall, but I refuse to watch Auburn and talk about the scandal.  I am not going to deprive myself of enjoying an unbelievable team and an unbelievable player just because we “Think” we may know something..  Guilty or Not, we will find that out sooner or later -  But until then, I plan on enjoying some good football.

As for the Iron Bowl.  Kirby Smart and Alabama’s Defense is the first team to make Jordan Jefferson look like a real QB but let me say this, as long as the Sabanator is walking on the side line and the game is being played in T-Town then the Tide has a good chance to win.  And give this guy 2 weeks (I understand that they are played a game this week but come on) and the “chances” of the Tide to win go up.  I believe that the Tide has more than just a chance to win.  The ref’s will be watching Fairley as close as they have all year.  Like him or not, a ton of his plays are “judgment” calls and those will be leaning in the Tide’s favor.  Ingram and Richardson have been very quit lately and the O-Line has been heavily criticized.  That typically isnt good for the oppenent.  Just as we have seen Auburn’s Defense come to life over the last couple of weeks because of all of the heavy criticism they got, I see the Tide’s Line doing the same thing.

Cam Newton has handled all of this scrutiny and negative attention about as good as anyone could imagine.  But what he is about to face will be a whole different story than on the Plains.  This Alabama crowd will be nasty.  And I say that as a compliment.   If he can go in to T-Town and come away with a win to complete an undefeated regular season… Well then it will be truly special… But that isn’t going to happen.

Alabama wins the Iron Bowl.

OK, take this for what its worth....

Not saying I believe any or all of this, just thought it was interesting and you guys would be interested in this. It was posted on Dawgpost from a guy who found it on a Bama board, so without futher ado......

Only Going to Post Here Once
by Gilbert_Grape » Fri Nov 19, 2010 1:28 am
Take this for what it is worth. I'm just an old guy who knows little and remembers even less, but I've been around enough times to know what to believe and what not to believe.

I've been reading this forum off and on, but have never posted here. I don't plan on posting here again, but I do want to make my one post count.

To begin, those of you who are jumping ship because there is no damning evidence thus far, man up and be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day, and the barn won't burn faster just because you want it to. Trust me, though- it will burn.

My credentials are this: I know people who are in position to know things because I used to be one of those "in the know". I was involved in the initial investigation at SMU, not as a University official but as an NCAA pencil pusher. Right now, I have one son teaching at *** and another in the athletic department at Auburn (I also have a cousin who was once employed by Auburn, but he has since cut ties with them after a falling out a few years ago). Finally, my neighbor and closest friend started as a CART agent with the FBI and does work with AccessData's FTK on the side (he's the guy who proves you visited those websites you lied to your wife about). I say all of that to say this: I consider myself well-connected. That does not mean, however, that I will defend to the death my sources. Anyone offering "insider" information, unless they are actively involved, is only doing so out of good faith to their sources and a belief that they can contribute in some way. This is where I stand.

(1)Cam Newton: Unless he stands at a podium and flashes cash, he's playing against Bama. However, his ineligibility is guaranteed. Auburn knows this, the SEC knows this, the NCAA knows this, and Cam (should) know this. This is the least of Auburn's worries because,
(2) Auburn is going down. Cam is essentially a diversion. Let me repeat myself again: CAM Is ESSENTIALLY A DIVERSION. There was a slush fund, and this fund was accessed by Auburn players through ATM cards. The paper trail will show this. The FBI is offering unbelievable deals for those who talk. Unfortunately, those in the know have to keep hush-hush while people are talking because this is a federal investigation, which is why
(3) This has taken so long. It is a process, people. The NCAA and others are not just sitting on their thumbs. It's like being in line at McDonald's- no matter how fast you want to move, you have to wait on the folks in front of you. Auburn knows this, and the mood in the Barn offices is gloomy at best. There is concern over heavy, heavy penalties, including loss of SACS and the NCAA Death Penalty. However,
(4) Auburn will not be given the Death Penalty, and it's extremely unlikely that it will lose SACS. The Alabama legislature and governor are willing to do whatever it takes to keep Auburn open and funded. The last time Auburn was in trouble with SACS, the governor begged for them to be spared. That won't work this time, but that is because the Alabama legislature is going to
(5) Clean house at Auburn. The BOT will be made up of congressman (if certain folks have their way), and no one other than academic deans will retain administrative positions. The state of Alabama, ***, and the SEC NEED Auburn open, which is partly why
(6) Auburn will (almost certainly) not receive the Death Penalty. This is the only part of my information that I wish I felt more comfortable about. There is talk among those in the NCAA office of TV blackouts, scholly reductions in the 50+ (over at least 4 years) range, limits on assistants, and a revocation of almost all recruiting rights. Monstrous fines will be levied as well. This brings me to my last point,
(7) Most of the Auburn folks were grossly unaware of any of this. Chizik's reputation is dead amongst many boosters and faculty. There was a meeting at an airport to discuss what everyone (boosters, admins, etc.) knew, and as the meeting went on, anger turned to fear, fear turned to rage, and rage turned into disbelief. It was during this meeting that possible implications on SACS was brought up, during which point near panic ensued. The Auburn folks are waiting on the hammer, when they should be preparing for the bomb.

So, take all of this with a grain (or truckload) of salt. I won't post again, so don't post anything expecting a reply from me. Forget about all of this crap with "a big story coming in X days"- there is no timetable for this. Expect this to go slowly, and expect Auburn to finish its season with no NCAA/SEC intervention. Once again, I am passing along information that I trust- what you do with it is your choice.

Not sure what I think about this, probably a load of shit, but interesting read. If he actually knows what he's talking about and AU had a slush fund, AU fans can get ready for a decade of awful football at a minimum.

Son of a Preacher Man

Paging Mr. Lee......

Your Clitter account again shows how much you love the University of Alabama and Coach Nick Saban. Why don't you just come out of the closet and admit it? For someone that claims to hate both of these things, you sure spend a lot of your time on them. Look, don't be ashamed. The Tide Nation will welcome you with open arms. Kind of like Auburn welcomed the Newton's minus the open check book.

Aaron Murray

Here are some interesting facts that David Pollack, on twitter @davidpollack47, posted on Twitter.  Pollack played with David Greene who was one of the best QB’s to play at Georgia.   Greene’s best season at Georgia, statically, was his senior year when he passed for 2508 yards 20 TD’s and only 4 picks.  This year Murray has passed for 2580 yards 21 TD’s and only 6 picks and we have 1, maybe 2, games to go.  Greene’s best QB rating ever was 148.3 and Murray this year is at 156.8.  And another recent Georgia QB that wasn’t to shabby, Matt Stafford, his best QB rating ever was 154.53..

Watching him you never give up on the play.  He makes passes that couldn’t be in a better spot and makes them right after picking up 8 yards on the ground on a busted play to keep a drive a live.  His teamates talk about him as if he has already arrived as a top notch QB.  They stand up for him like he has been leading them for several years and expect him to make plays that keep them in the ball game even if its doing something stupid like lowering his shoulder instead of running out of bounds.  Coach Bobo has said that he has never coached a QB that stayed in his office more than Murray just begging to learn more and become better.

One thing I truly love about this blog is that besides all the shit talking I think we do a good job giving props to the guys that deserve it, even if we hate the team the player plays for.

aaron-murray-261x300

Thank you Murray for making a shitty season very enjoyable to watch.

What ever came of this Pepper?

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/sec/2007-06-06-auburn-recruit-grades_N.htm

Dyer can't hold Bo's jock!!

I saw this pic today on another site and it got me to thinking. Ok Auburn fans/Pepper. Forgive me for not knowing, but what record did Dyer break that Bo had? Rushing yards by Freshman? I don't give a shit if he destroyed it. No way he comes close to the type of back Bo was.

Monday’s hang over

Great time in Auburn this weekend… just wish I could remember more.  Here are a couple of things I do remember.

AJ Green is, hands down, the best Wide Receiver in all of College football and I don’t think anyone can disagree.  The guy seems to make CB’s look like they are a sleep.

Murray has a bright bright future ahead of him and I  am thankful that Georgia has him.  I think the kid is sharp, and has a great attitude.  He will handle things very well and could be a HUGE reason why Richt keeps his job next year.

When Georgia went up 21-7 I showed my natural white ass.  Anthony and I did not make it into the game so we crashed an Auburn tailgate that had a TV.  There were about 12 or so douche bag Auburn frat boys and I started going fucking nuts.  I told Anthony very loudly so they all could hear that I would slap anybody that said anything to me with an open hand.  The females under the tent were completely disgusted by me.

I have to say that I absolutely loved the way the game ended.  I am teaching my kids good sportsmanship but deep down inside I really enjoyed the shit that went down at the end of the game.  I liked the dirty hit by Fairley and I LOVED Big Ben Jones holding that fat bastard down and kneeing him.  The only thing that would have been better is if the benches would have cleared and it would have been an all out brawl in the middle of the field.  Trooper Taylor would have been thrown around like a rag doll.  And Richt would have prolly shit his pants but he would have Grantham beside so he would have been safe.  Malzone would have been screaming for the Chizz to protect him and believe me, Chizz wouldn’t anything happen to his job security.

Anthony and I then went down town to try and hang out with some of the Cow College locals but obviously they frown upon people that can’t walk very good.   At one point in the evening I felt discriminated against.  I mean how did they know that I wasn’t disabled?  And is that really any reason to kick someone out of a bar??  I mean I have been tossed from my fair share of bars but for not being able to walk??  The good thing is Anthony had to pay the tab.

I’m really looking forward to the Iron Bowl guys..  I really am.  The Georgia/Georgia Tech game looks more like an ACC championship game, 2 mediocre teams.   But the Iron Bowl…  This is going to be nasty.  and you can bet your sweet ass that the Sabanator will have the Refs on Fairley’s ass the entire game.  I can guarantee you that.  The bad thing is that they (the Refs) will have plenty of chances to flag him for bad hits on the QB because Bama’s O line isn’t that good.   I don’t think anyone will be suprised that I will be pulling for Auburn.  An SEC team has a chance to make it so I am on board with them.  And I think have made myself very clear that I am presuming innocent until proven guilty on the Cam deal.

I see last week's debacle as a huge opportunity for the blog. What say you???

I had a phone convo with Joe and let him know my thoughts. He shot me down and said he couldn't take advantage of the situation from last week. I, of course, called him a pussy and told him the sieze the day/moment and run with it. So Joseph Frank get off your ass and make this happen. Also, Pepper come out of hiding. Noone is blaming you or will hate on you for what Cam Newton has done. Hell, they all cheat. He's just going to get caught. See you good day!!

Never thought I'd say this and mean it....

But after the game Saturday, all I can get out of my mouth is Rolllll Tideeeeee!!!!!!
I have a new hatred for Auburn that I have never felt before. Fairly is without a doubt the dirtiest player in college football and I should feel bad in saying this (but I don't) I hope someone in the Bama game blow his knee to shreds. I mean a CAREER ending injury. He is a classless thug that does not deserve to dress out for a team in the SEC. Other than that, I will say Cam Newton is the best player in college football. He is difficult to scheme against and even harder to stop. Fact of the matter is, we may have to wait several months, but I have a feeling this game will be recorded as a win for Georgia in due time. Where there is this much smoke, you can bet your ass there is a fire. I haven't kept up with it very closely but I feel for Cam a little. Seems like a pretty good kid, but with a father who let greed take over. Too bad it wasn't Fairly that caused them to go 0-12. UGA will be back in the picture sooner than later, count on that. That is all for now and.....

Tomorrow is All Auburn – All Orange

81bc3-PvGyL._SL1500_ A

Hmmm??

I’m curious of a couple of things in this Newtongate.

1) What exactly are the facts?  Not what we think we know, not what is being reported, but what are the actual facts that we do know.  I wish someone “creditable” (like the FBI) would say what they know but I understand that they are probably not going to do that unless it is with an indictment.

2) If Kenny Rogers is not being honest, then what does he have to gain from this?  All I can figure is if this guy is not telling the truth then he is going to be in even bigger legal trouble than if he actually orchestrated a biding war.   I wish I could hear a legal expert tell us the legal consequences if KR is telling the truth vs. not telling the truth because my previous statement about he could be in even bigger trouble is nothing more than a guess.

3) Does the NCAA have to find money to find guilt?  I’m pretty sure someone can be found guilty of murder with out a murder weapon.  So does the NCAA have to find the money or does that just make the case easier??

I am finding it harder and harder to believe that Auburn is innocent.  That said, Culpepper reminded me last night that we have not heard Auburn’s side of the story yet either.  Auburn has been told to keep their mouths shut, by either the NCAA or the SEC.  We have had all sides shoved down our throats except Auburn’s, and that could have something to do with how I am leaning on this.

I am a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty.  I say this right after I have presumed guilt with absolutely no facts making me a huge hypocrite.  I am praying (I’m really not praying about this) that Auburn is found to be clean because I wouldn’t wish these types of possible sanctions on anyone other than Notre Dame or USC..  Maybe Boise State also, because of the blue field.

What I am afraid of is that someone, that is not in Au Athletic Dept, paid Cecil Newton…  What sucks about this is that AU has every right to stand behind Cam because they (The University of Auburn) haven’t done anything wrong and they know of nothing that has been done wrong.  And yet, this is a “Cam Newton scandal” or an “Auburn scandal” and that isn’t fair at this point (another case of my hypocrisy, i started the post off with Newtongate).

Anthony tweeted, “News Flash: If you are a college football fan and you want Cam to be found guilty you might need to find another sport to involve yourself” – I agree with this statement.  I think that most of us hypocrites that have already presumed guilt want him to be found guilty for one reason – so we can say, “I told you so.”  and that is sad, real sad.  The fact that we would rather be able to feel good about presuming guilt over being reminded that we all, including Auburn and the Newtons, are innocent until proven guilty is pathetic.

As of right now Cam Newton, Cecil Newton, and Auburn are innocent.  We know this because the SEC, the NCAA, and the FBI have not said anything to the contrary.  I pray (again, I’m really not praying about this) that Cecil Newton is not a pimp, that Cam wins the Hiesman, and that Auburn gets the brakes beat off of them this weekend by the DAWGS!!!

Cam thoughts

Just listened to Kenny Rogers on a Radio interview and my thoughts are this.

Comfortable Assumption:  Cecil Newton is scum and was whoring is son out to the highest bidder.

Fact: Cecil’s son signed with Auburn.

Crazy

today is a perfect example of message boards taking something and going crazy with it…

Something was posted on my facebook page today and it ended up on messages boards on tiderinsider, rivals, scout, and several others.. this would typically be pretty cool BUT all the message boards were quoting someone else, who is a good friend, and what was said was very far from the truth and was meant as a joke..

The end result is that the person got blamed for something that had absolutely nothing to do with him.

It was pretty crazy..  And the person that got blamed for it is being totally cool about the situation, as excepted.

Ben Leard is a class act and anyone who knows him feels the same way.

If you guys would do me a favor and not comment with anything stupid, this has gotten out of hand enough.

Anthony Lee.....

for someone that hates Alabama and St. Nick, you sure do dedicate a lot of your time to them. Are you really so insecure about your team & your life that you spend hour upon hour thinking up things to post on your Clitter account? And now it looks like you have added me to the list of things you idolize. I appreciate the shout out man. I knew after our first blog exchange that you were intimidated by my alpha male dominance and your need to reference me in your Clitter posts only reaffirms that thought. I can only assume that the "bandwagon" you reference is Auburn and I hate to break your heart and ruin your man crush, but it isn't going to happen. You think that just because Alabama has lost two games this year that I would abandon ship? If Saban left Alabama today and announced he was coming to Auburn you would piss your pants and proclaim it as the second coming of Christ. Enjoy the run that Auburn is on while it lasts. It seems to me that after quite a few years of irrelevance you would take time to savor the moment, but being the uber douche that you are I see that isn't possible.

Greatest Georgia Auburn Game in Hart County History

November 11 2000.

I’m not sure how many High Schools can say that they have watched an SEC game where both starting QB’s were from the same school - but you can bet your sweet ass it aint many.

Ben Leard, QB of Auburn, was going up against Cory Phillips, QB of Georgia.

As for the game..  It couldn’t have been any better.  Auburn scored 20 unanswered points at the start the second half to take a 23-13 lead. However, Georgia scored 10 straight points in the fourth quarter, including a 19-yard Billy Bennett field goal with 41 seconds remaining, to send the game to overtime. After Bennett's 25-yarder gave the Bulldogs a three-point lead in the extra period.  Then Leard took the Auburn offense onto the field and lead them down to the 1 yard line.  Then Auburn called my favorite play from the 1… the QB sneak.  Leard pushed the pile into the end zone for the Auburn Victory and the crowd went wild!  The people behind early in the game asked me, “who the hell are you pulling for?”  I replied, “offense!”

"I can't explain how good it feels to win this game or win, period," said Leard, who grew up in Hartwell, Georgia. "It means a lot to the team. The emotion of the game for me was a great deal. It wasn't a grudge match to me. I grew up loving Georgia. I won't be able to surpass this."

Auburn went on to win the SEC West.

Les Miles is growing on me.

Coming into yesterday I didn't really care for the guy either way. But out of the blue I got a text from a buddy saying "Les Miles is the ballsiest coach in college football". For whatever reason that text turned me into being a huge Les Miles fan. Do I want him coaching my team......HELL NO, but I respect the bastard. Joe just made it more solid when he told me about him eating grass "to be one with the field". Les Miles is my new favorite coach to pull for even though he is a douche. Just had to get that off my chest. I feel like I should be ashamed but I'm not.

Scam Newton

IT’S OFFICAL!!!

TONIGHT I WILL BE DOING PLAY BY PLAY ON THE ELBA TIGERS PLAYOFF GAME!!!

Thanks Urban! What A DICK!!!

http://auburn.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1148586

Two things on my mind.

1. I'm proud to be a GT fan. My team actually played like a team last night for the first time this year. If Joshua F'n Nesbitt doesn't go down for the season we blow the turkeys out.

2. Auburn and Cam Newton are a bunch of cheaters. Fuck them.

Pepper was at one of the many conventions he enjoys going to but typically is to nervous during the Q&A segment to ask anything..  Not this time.

If they aint getting arrested… they are graduating

Georgia has been the punch line to many off the field jokes lately and deservingly so..  But It was nice to find out that the Dawgs are 2nd in the SEC in Graduation rate only behind Vandy.  All and all the SEC’s rates were pretty damn good.  Arkansas and Ole Miss were the bottom feeders and I wasn’t suprised by Arkansas but I was a little surprised at Ole Miss.   Good Job to the SEC for not only being THE most powerful conference in all of football but also graduating your student athletes.

A little different..

Who knew it but the French Canadians do not like to be called racial slurs during ball games..  Question, can anyone give me a racial slur for a French Canadian?  I thought that was a pretty bad thing to be called in its self.

WOW!!  I never would have guessed that this would have been a group of French men.

Mike Zimmer is the MAN!!

I just read a blog post from Cincinnati.Com that had some GREAT quotes from Mike Zimmer the current Defensive coordinator there in Cincy.

First of all, I want to say that I have read/seen stuff on this guy in the past and liked everything.  He has fire, he seems to have a pretty damn close family, and tons of respect from his players.  When his wife passed away last year during the season..  watching his daughters (who are really really hot) in the stands in tears and emotional wrecks is a moment I will never forget.

Mike-Zimmer-Wife-Dead

Now, on to the shit that caused this post.

Zimmer was doing an interview and Bobby Petrino’s name came up.  [Zimmer was Bobby’s D Coordinator in Atlanta if you any of have blocked that year from you memory bank.]  and here are some of the quotes..

“I was never even there. As far as I am concerned. I never even was there. When a coach quits in the middle of the year and ruins a bunch of people’s families and doesn’t’ have enough guts to at least finish out the year. I am not a part of that.”

and if that isn’t good enough, how about this..

“He is a coward. Put that in quotes. He ruined a bunch of people’s lives, a bunch of people’s families, kids, because he didn’t have enough nuts to stay there and finish the job. That’s the truth.”

“He came in and said he resigned, he would talk to us all at a later date, walked out of the office and no one has ever talked to him since. Not that anybody wanted to.  He’s a gutless b—–d. (not sure what this word was) Quote that. I don’t give a s—. (pretty sure this was shit)

When told that we might might not be able to use the B word, Zimmer went one better: “How about this, gutless MF. (not certain, but I feel comfortable assuming that this was mother fucker) You can use that.”

OK, I’m pretty certain that I have a new favorite defensive Coordinator in the NFL!  He said what I have always thought of the douche bag in Arkansas.  I think he is a gutless selfish douche bag that I hope fails.

Thanks Mike Zimmer

What is a “real defense”?

I keep hearing the good defense thing also. But...before we played SC they had the best run-D in the nation and after we ran for 300 yards they were "overrated". Here are their rushing totals against the best teams they have played so far

UK Rushed for a whopping 52 yards on USC, the mighty alaBamar racked up 36 yards and averaged 1.2 yards per carry, UGA got 61 yards on them and Auburn ran for 334 yards.

now you tell me why that D is bad because we blew their average out of the water and got 3 games worth of rushing stats in 1 game.

Miss St. is the 13th best D in the nation and 21st in rushing offense and we beat them on the road.

Ark was ranked 13th in total defense until they took the Newton test. Also Ark only passed for 71 more yards against us than did against the mighty Alabama defense.

I am not saying we are going to win the National Championship hell I am not saying we will win the SEC we have 4 tough games left. I just want to know what teams Alabama, and LSU have played who's defenses are so much better than the ones we have played? None we have played the same teams. So how about everyone just "Hey, these guys are better than we thought they were going to be" instead of "Oh well let's wait until they play a real defense"!

Players of the week

Chris Low’s players of the week

Offense: Cam Newton & Mike Hartline

Defense: Chris White (Miss St)

Special Teams: Marquis Maze and Ryan Tydlacka (UK’s punter)

O Line: Ben Jones

D Line: Nick Fairley

Freshman: Aaron Murray

Mon – Day

Great weekend!!  Here are couple of thoughts on what I saw and what I saw highlights of..

I saw a Georgia Team that is a couple of games from being in the thick of the SEC East race OR a couple of games from Richt’s seat firing back up..  I’m hoping its the former and how we handle Kentucky and Florida will determine which it is.  Georgia is playing with some passion and I have went from dreading the game with Florida, Auburn, and Tech to actually looking forward to them.  It’s been a while since we have been able to play spoiler so I am going to enjoy it.   Ealey looked good.  AJ is a special special football player and Aaron Murray could be one of the top 3 QB’s in the league, right now!

Auburn’s Cam Newton is a freak.  I keep hearing people say stupid things like, “if you can stop Cam you can beat ‘em.”  Really?  Do you also think if you stop Peyton Manning you can stop the Colts?  I mean, while we are saying bold statements lets go ahead and get a few others out of the way.  How about, “if you pick that dog shit up you will get it on your hand.”  or “if you slip in the shower it will hurt.”  I understand that it is perfectly obvious that IF you stop Cam Newton that you can stop Auburn but here is the catch, HOW?

Was Dan Mullen the brains behind that douche bag Urban Cryer’s success?  With Mullen coming in to the swamp and beating his Ol’ Boss.. I would have loved to hear some of the conversations amongst the Mullets in the swamp?  “Man, we need to get another Tebow..  That’s what we need – if Tebow was here this crap wouldn't be happening..”  (note the word “crap”, Florida fans do not use profanity in the same sentence as Tebow )

The Ohio State Buckeyes just can’t handle the pressure..  They had another title shot in their sites and blew it..  Plus Tressel doesn’t look the same with a jacket.  Stay with the sweater vest dude, it is pimp.

I love twitter.  I love tweeting.  I love getting tweets.  It is the shizznet.

This week I will be doing more post.

Last week We didn’t get anybody’s picks.

I got hammered on Saturday.

I threw up several times late Saturday night… rookie.

I was hung over on Sunday and had to go to what could be the the worse place in the world with a hang over..  Pizza Castle, the redneck version of Chucky Cheese.  I did, however, beat a smartass kid in a motorcycle race and told him that if he was going to race me then he better bring it better than that.  I also set my all time record of 165 tickets and came out of that place with a mask, 2 curly straws, a tattoo, and a piece of bubble gum.   Parker and Rachel were proud of their daddy and I think Traci was a little proud also.  I won her over when I timed my token throw to hit the bonus ticket slot back to back times – I almost lost her when I yelled, “JACK POT BABY!!” then “BACK TO BACK!!  WHOS THE MAN?  JOE’S THE MAN!”

Chris Low’s SEC QB Rankings

Pre Season here is how he had the QB’s ranked

Low’s preseason rankings:

1. Ryan Mallett, Arkansas 2. Greg McElroy, Alabama 3. Jeremiah Masoli, Ole Miss 4. John Brantley, Florida 5. Stephen Garcia, South Carolina 6. Jordan Jefferson, LSU 7. Cam Newton, Auburn 8. Aaron Murray, Georgia 9. Mike Hartline, Kentucky 10. Chris Relf, Mississippi State 11. Matt Simms, Tennessee 12. Larry Smith, Vanderbilt

Low’s current rankings:

1. Cam Newton, Auburn 2. Ryan Mallett, Arkansas 3. Greg McElroy, Alabama 4. Aaron Murray, Georgia 5. Stephen Garcia, South Carolina 6. Jeremiah Masoli, Ole Miss 7. Mike Hartline, Kentucky 8. John Brantley, Florida 9. Chris Relf, Mississippi State 10. Matt Simms, Tennessee 11. Jarrett Lee, LSU 12. Larry Smith, Vanderbilt 13. Jordan Jefferson, LSU

Some of the biggest differences are Cam Newton, and rightfully so – He has really proven all of the people (including me) that doubted if he could play in the SEC.  Aaron Murray is another that has climbed his rankings.  And anybody that has watched him will agree that he is growing leaps and bounds and could end up as a GREAT QB.  Jordan Jefferson is the biggest drop, and again, I don’t see how anyone would disagree with this either.

Ole Miss.. really?

The University of Ole Miss has officially sold out to political correctness…

ncaa_a_olemiss_sy_600

I’m sorry but Colonel Reb was the shit..  and to be honest I am a little offended that they went with a black bear..  why couldn’t it have been a white bear?

Question for the hunters on here.

I'm probably the only one that hunts seriuosly on here, but for those of you that hunt any, what type of music do you listen to going to the woods/water to get you pumped up for the hunt or to get focused. I saw this question on a hunting website I'm on and thought I'd ask. For me it's ALWAYS solid country gold........Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, etc. What about you?

Washaun Ealey

Couple of quotes from Ealey that I liked.  I have been a little critical of Ealey (and Starrett has been pretty harsh and I think rightfully so) and hopeful he will enjoy reading these as well.

“I feel like I got a lot more to prove.  I’ve got to earn the trust of my teammates, along with my coaches.  I know that my team, they really need me this game, because I’m probably the only running back, besides Ken Malcome.  Carlton Thomas is coming back this week.  But I’ll probably be getting the majority of the reps.”

asked if he meant the trust was coming from the fumbling issues.

“Definitely, the fumbles, I’m pretty sure I lost the trust of most of guys on the team.  Hopefully I can go out there and gain their trust back this week.”

“Probably last year as a freshman I was just running.  Now that I’ve got a little experience I’m probably thinking too much.  This week I’m just gonna try and get back to my old ways, just running the ball harder and not thinking too much.”

Starrett has mentioned that the fumbles have not been his only concern.  It’s the emotion of Ealey, or lack there of.  I think we were shown exactly how a running back should act with Knowshon hoping up and running back to the huddle no matter how hard he had been hit.  This showed the D that you better bring it because I am here to stay.  I hope that Ealey’s lack of emotion was due to not having his teammates trust and he goes out there with a chip on his shoulder and proves that we do not need to remove Ken Malcom’s redshirt because Ealey will be able to handle the bulk of the carries with Carlton Thomas coming in as a change of pace guy.  I went back and watched some of Ealey’s high school videos and some from last year and he I believe this guy is much better than what we have seen this year so far.

A new tradition will begin this Saturday.

Sorry

Sorry for the lack of blog activity from me lately.  I have actually been doing a good job focusing on work and plan on trying to remember to take my lap top home so I can do more post from the House.  But here are some of the things that I have seen lately that I wanted to comment on in no particular order.

favre20crying

Brett Favre’s penis.  I wish I would have not watched the thing on deadspin.com or at least I wish I could have gotten a warning before the cock shot.  I believe he is guilty, I believe he thinks normal rules and laws do not apply to him, I believe he is a selfish self promoting douche bag that I am pulling for to fail.   OK, maybe I am being a little harsh on the guy.  I mean, he spots what he thinks is a little slut in the tunnel before the game and he wanted to get him a little piece on the side.  I am not endorsing this by any means, but is he so stupid that he thinks sending a picture of his little dick is the best way to land this chick?  Really?  Anytime my penis has been seen by a female it is standing at full attention and if his was… well then I guess I have one thing on Brett Favre.  (ps. Mrs Favre, I know a real good way to get back at this guy if you happen to read this..  facebook me and I will tell you the best way to really give him what he deserves)

opri-54495-mid

I read an article yesterday that is coming up in this weeks SI, which doesn’t make much sense for me to do seeing that I am an SI subscriber and I always finish it before the next one comes in.  It would make a lot more sense for me to have waited..  anywho, it was about this agent that was paying players.  you may have heard them talk about it on Mike and Mike this morning.  It was a pretty good read but here is what I got out of it.  Most Agents are Pimps.  Most Players are whores.  I have more respect for Keyshawn Johnson.   But you may want to check it out.  This sleeze bag names a lot of names.

490722359

Caleb King gets arrested.   Maybe I am simplifying this a little to much but if any of you guys think your programs are squeaky clean then grab something hard and slam it up next to your head.  I understand that GA has had a ton of off field issues but I do believe that Richt is doing something about it.  A 2 game suspension for missing an appearance for a traffic ticket is pretty F’n (I’m trying not to use fuck on the blog) stiff.  A lot more than what we are accustomed too.  The bottom line is that winning cures all ills.  Nobody mentions the trouble that goes on down at Fla because they win.  And if you look at some of the punishments vs the Crime…  well lets just say that Urban doesn't run the tightest ship and he seems to be doing just fine.  Oh yea, speaking of Urban.  I heard that he found out that he had some kind of rare throat shit where he couldn't control it tighten up and that is what he thought was his chest pains.  turns out he has medicine for it and now he is doing good.   Has anybody heard anything like this?

image215098g 66306_443146102830_35071097830_5556842_3194737_n

Bobby Cox’s last game was very emotional for me..  Maybe it was because I was by myself.   Maybe because we lost.  Maybe because he has been the Manager since I was 12 years old.. I don’t know but it was tough to watch him tip the hat and it was even tougher watching his press conference.   Moving forward, Freddie Gonzalez was the man I wanted BAD!  I love this guy.  And with a middle name of Jesus I don’t think that can hurt either.  The guy is tough.  The guy means what he says.  He does not put up with pre-madonna’s.  Plus the guy went .500 with the smallest pay roll in all of baseball.  The Marlins were a team that always showed up to play and you give this guy some more talent (Braves Roster) and I feel comfortable he will take the Braves to the post season.  And I also feel pretty comfortable with him being around for a while.

wild-turkeys

This morning I counted 6 Wild Turkeys in my back yard with in 15 yards of my back porch.  One of them will be dead on Sunday morning if they come back.  I will hunt from my mud room while drinking coffee and run out and pop one their asses.   Then I’m not sure what to do.  I have never killed a Turkey but I think I need to say something like, “I roosted him last night and called him up this mornin.”  I’m pretty sure that will sound better than, “I woke up this morning, took a mean shit.  Fixed me a cup of coffee and looked out the window every 20 minutes during commercials of that bad ass slatwater sunday show that comes on ESPN early as hell on sundays.  then one of em of come up and started eatin the feed that I put out so I went out the front door… snuck around the side of the house and blasted his ass.”  I will prolly go with story A.

mark-richt

I know some of yall think I am currently a crack head and this next statement may secure it.  I believe the Dawgs win out.  That means beating Florida, beating Cam Newton, and making PJ give a BJ.  Ending with a 8-5 record and then winning our bowl game to complete a 9 win season.  I really don’t care what any of say to this comment.  If your team was in the same situation as mine and were looking threw my glasses (i don’t wear glasses but if i did) then you would see the same thing.

My MAN!!!

Fredi Gonazalez will do GREAT for the Atlanta Braves.  GREAT!!!!!

One more year.

What does everyone think of starting a grass roots campaign to get Bobby to come back one more year? I am not a big fan of retiring and then coming back. In saying that, I think next year could be special for the Braves. Atlanta has the same team coming back next year, HEALTHY. My thoughts are why should someone else enjoy the Championship that Bobby deserves.

So I say right here and now let's start www.comebackbobby.com. I am starting this campaign on this blog and my facebook now.

Gruden to Dawgs???

A hunting buddy of mine has some inside info(cousin is in the UGA athletice dept) that Gruden was contacted at some point this season to inquire about his interest of the UGA job. Gruden told them to get back with him after the season. Not saying this is true, but what if it comes to happen?

Bama Sucks

End of story!!! BP and Jody, if you guys want to win the national championship in coming years, just pay me. All it takes to win is for me to not bet on Alabama. Because everytime I put cold hard cash on the Tide, they lay an egg. Welcome to loserville boys, you'll find a lot of company here. And don't worry, Pepper will be joining us momentarily, probably Saturday night.

Guess it couldn't last forever.....

Bama lost. And they didn't just lose, they got beat up. Hats off to South Carolina for a dominating victory. They were able to do what nobody up to this point has done: beat McElroy, shut down Ingram & Richardson, man handle the o-line and march up and down the field against the defense. This game was so one sided that I cannot find any excuses. Joe and I were texting back and forth all day long during the game and I kept telling him how flat & uninspired they looked. He could see it first hand since he was there at the game. Maybe the pressure got to them; maybe they were too arrogant or cocky; maybe, and this is the one I believe, they just got out played by a SC team that was better than them on this particular day.

Moving forward, as a Bama fan, I can only hope that they refocus and get back to Saban's one game at a time approach. Again, there aren't any excuses, but you have to wonder if the Tide wasn't looking past SC. So let all the shit talking, jokes and verbal assaults begin. I have been known to kick a man when their team was down and knowing this board, I expect the same.

Someone sent me a text yesterday asking how it felt to lose to the whipping boy of the SEC. This text came from an OSU fan so it had to be taken with a grain of salt. OSU plays in a powder puff conference and has seen first hand what happens when the SEC comes to town. But it did get me thinking about the overall state of conference this year. With all of the close games, has the gap between the top and bottom of the league been tightened up? Auburn has had several close games; LSU has pulled the rabbit out of the hat multiple times; UGA is down; SC is up; Vandy & Kentucky have looked solid at times.

My question to the board is this: Do you guys think that this is the most competitive - top to bottom - that the SEC has been?

As always, RMFT.

Update on Joe's Conversion to an Alabama Fan

Update #1
Joe called me on the way to South Carolina at 4:55 p.m. his first words were Roll Tide.
I called Joe at 8:47 and again he answered the phone Roll Tide.
Joe called me at 9:05, his first words were Roll Tide.

I will keep everyone informed on his progress.

No pics for this week's picks. I'm superstitious.

3* Clemson +2.5 @ UNC: I just think Clemson is the better team.

2* FSU/Da U over 48: Two high powered O's going at it with each other. Great special teams too.

1* Miss St -5.5 @ Houston: I believe both of Houston's QB's are out for the year and also think Miss St is getting better with every game.

Pumped!

I would say the biggest game of the Weekend would be the Bama / South Carolina game – And since I am a college football writer (I don’t have a AP vote yet but I know its coming) I need to do a little more than just watch games on TV.  So to get a better idea on this Alabama team that I seem to waffle on more than Al Gore during an election (mild attempt at some political humor) I have decided to make the trip to Columbia South Carolina and witness the game live.  so tonight I will making the trip over and will start tailgating tonight around midnight in a RV with one of the biggest Alabama fans I have ever be around.   Since I am a guest of a loyal Crimson Tide fan I will supporting the Tide as well.   I know this makes some of you Bamars (pulley) really excited to know that I, of all people, will be watching one of the top 3 or 4 games of your season live instead of you.  And the fact that I will have a Crimson shirt (it will not have an “A” on it and i will be drinking out of my whiskey glass that has a Georgia G on it) on makes you really proud.  I may even give a couple of “Roll Tides” out there.

I will try to act like Pulley so I will fit in but I’m not sure I can become that big of an asshole.  So what I thought is to maybe represent the University of Alabama with some class.  Closer to how Jody acts (I really hate to think that Jody is classy but compared to most of them he actually is).

So ROLL TIDE!!!  or RTR baby!!  Or “Put Richardson in!! he is better than Ingram!”

This is what I think Joe probably did

At some point when he saw the last post.

Joe, this is for you

Randy Dandy

Is this what Brett Favre was missing?

Randy-Moss

The Vikings just got a whole lot better this morning.  Favre really wanted to play with Moss in his last years at Green bay and really it was kind of the start of the downward turn of the relationship between Favre and the Pack.  Well now Favre is at a place where he is in control and now he has one of (if not the) best WR is the game right now.

The Vikings are ranked 5th in Rushing, 9th in stopping the run, and 8th in stopping the pass, but 24th in passing.  Great!! Great!! pick up by the Vikings and only giving up a 3rd round pick makes it even sweeter.

As for the Pats.  This is typical.  They know they lose the guy at the end of the year, they know he aint very happy right now, so why not pick up something for him now.  I think that the Pats have 2 picks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round of the Draft next year.  (didn’t check that last statement but i think i remember where they already had 2 picks in the 1,2, and 4 rounds – check it out to make sure)

Interesting match ups this week

#17 Michigan State @ #18 Michigan

images (2) State brings a 5 – 0 record to the big house with some pretty big wins (Notre Dame 34-31 and Wisconsin 34-24).  The Notre Dame win was Huge for the Spartans faking a field goal in overtime to steal the lead.  These guys are doing pretty good stopping the run but will face, what could be, their toughest test with Denard Robinson who, I have to admit, I hadn’t watched very much of except high lights but he appears to be a freak.  Michigan has a win over Notre Dame also but other than the Irish the Big Blue has not played much else.

Vegas has the line at Michigan –4 1/2 in the Big House.

#1 Alabama @ #19 South Carolina

julio-jones-lays-out I said at the very begining of the year that this would be the game that Bama gets beat.  I also have picked them to lose to Arky and the Gayterds.   I think the Tide wins this game this weekend.  This way no matter what happens I be will correct.

I don’t think I was the only person in the world questioning Bama.  I even recall some conversations with Jody (where he was agreeing with me) that people are going to have to step up to fill some awful big holes (Mclain, Arenas, Jackson) and I think some guys are doing a pretty damn good job, but what I didnt take in to consideration is how GREAT the offense would be.  How can I think that an offense would not be great when they have the smartest QB in the conference (the guy is probably going to be a Rhode Scholar), last years Heisman Trophy winner (kid is just special and fun to watch), and a wide receiver that quietly is opening up the running game and making it almost impossible for opposing teams to do anything with their safeties other than help protect the side of the field that Julio is on.  Love him or Hate him – the kid is good and will be playing on Sunday next year.

So does Bama run the table?  I still don’t think so.  I still think someone sneaks up and beats them somewhere but as long as it isn’t a 1 loss or undefeated Auburn team than Bama will represent the SEC in the National Title game again – even with 1 loss.

Back to the South Carolina game – Bama opened up as a 7 1/2 point favorite and now is 6 1/2.

#12 LSU @ #14 Florida

tmq_a_miles_300 I don’t have to say it but I am..  Les Miles is a fucking moron.  I would love to sit down with him and drink some cold beers..  I think it would be so much fun.  I bet I would just be sitting there thinking inside that I can’t believe this guy is a head coach…  Brantly is questionable for the game and Florida just hasn’t been clicking but they should be good enough to win this game.  But are they good enough to cover the 7 points that Vegas laying.

#23 FSU @ #13 Miami

p1_jenn I like Miami and where this program is going.  Their is probably more talent in the Miami area than any place in America.  Granted their mostly thugs but they are really fast thugs.  FSU snags a good bit of this talent yearly and so when ever you have a 2 of the 3 big boys in Fla. playing each other you are guaranteed to see some of the fastest athletes in the country.

Miami is the the favorite by 6 1/2 points

These are the games that really stood out… manly because you have 2 top 25 teams playing each other…  And here are some pictures I came across that I liked.

Thank you Bobby!

Call me a sissy if ya want but it wasn't the vols almost win that got me tonight. I just watched Bobby's farewell ceremony and I'll be honest, I teared up a bit. Bobby is all I have ever known and anybody that calls themselves a Braves fan has to agree. I just wanna take a minute to say thanks to Bobby for a lifetime of memories, Thanks Bobby!

Codin’n’lockin

3* pick FLA ST –7

fsu-hot-college-girls.jpg image by crotch_

Call me crazy but I still believe in Christian Ponder and Jimbo Fisher I think they will get it going and win the ACC and I think it starts this week.

2* pick OHIO ST –17

No one has come close to the Buckeyes this year and Illinois couldn’t beat them when they had 2 NFL players on their team so they damn sure won’t come close now.

1* pick TX TECH –7

There is a reason Chizik ran fast to AU to get away from Iowa ST. They are horrible, expect the Raiders to play some D now that Tubbs is holding the reigns this one should be a blow out.

Joe’s Picks

Oklahoma –3 1/2 : Texas just hasn’t shown me anything.  I am not going just by the lose to UCLA last week but I do think that this isn’t your typical Texas team and believe me when I tell you that Bob Stoops will not mind putting another TD on the board late just to make it a double digit win.

oklahoma_girls

Tennessee +16 1/2 : I just don’t like LSU to be able to cover more than 2 TD’s on a Tennessee team that I think is fighting for a win.  I am not a believer in LSU… yet.  that could change.

tenngoldengirls

Florida +8 : This is not a Anti Bama pick here.  I think the Gayterds are better than we think and I think Bama isn’t as GREAT as we think – keeping this game close.  Urban has got something up his sleeve for his arch rival saban keeping this game with in the 8 points.   Thats just to many points for a big SEC game

If I don't come through this week, I'm going with the business man stache for next week's games.

My picks for week whatever it is:

3* Stanford +7 @ Oregon: Stanford is in the mold of Bama. They run it down your throat and then go play action. They line up and play as physical as anyone in the country. I look for them to go into Eugene and come out with a W. Getting 7 points doesn't hurt.

2* Miami/Clemson Over 49.5: Both teams can score, can score pretty quickly, and in a number of ways (special teams/etc.).

1* NC St +3.5 vs VT: NC St beat the piss out of my Jackets (that doesn't mean anything). I've been watching them this year and they are actually a pretty good team. Russell Wilson is a stud and they have an agressive D. I look for them to win outright, but there again, getting points doesn't hurt.
