University of South Carolina

4fcdcc0498e6712e5b697ab15332513e

With Steve Garcia back I think the Gamecocks are going to be better with another year under his built.  Losing Eric Norwood is going to hurt a team that heavily relied on their D last year.  So here is how there season will go.

W - Southern Miss

L – Georgia (Homer Alert) – I think I am going to get some arguments here

W – Furman

L – @ Auburn – The game will be in Auburn and the Tigers will be coming off a Big Win vs. Clemson

L – Alabama – Upset Alert!  Bama will coming off Huge wins vs. Arkansas and Florida the week before and this could be a perfect let down game for the Tide.  I’m picking Bama but could see this game being Bama’s unexpected loss that we all know will happen this year

W – @ Kentucky – UK will be down this year, they will still give people fits but I ‘m not expecting much from them

W – @ Vandy – Vandy is in big trouble

W – Tennessee – The Ol’ Ball Coach seems to have UT’s number

L – Arkansas – I think Mallet and Petrino will be hitting a good stride late in the season

L – @ Florida – Ol Ball Coach did really good in the Swamp, when he had a F on his visor.

W – Troy – As a season ticket holder to Troy, I would love to see them win this game but it aint gonna happen.  but it would make for a good road trip.  GO TROJANS!!

W – @ Clemson – Coin flip

Odds to win 2011 NBA Title

i did a story before Lebron announced with the odds of winning the 2011 title so we could see what changes LJ would do..  Here they are.

The Heat were 25:1 and now are 7:4.  (thats about 1.75:1 for you people that are not very good with odds) Keep in mind that the previous odds didn’t include Bosch or James.

Now the Lakers are looking to possibly add Raja Bell.  Reports have it that Bell is meeting with Kobe today in LA.  Now remeber that the lakers were at 7:2 so we will see if Raja helps (or hurts, depending on how you look at it) their odds.

In my mind the Lakers are still the team to beat, with or with out Raja.

Weekend Review

Pretty good weekend overall.  I took 5 little girls all under the age of 6 to the Movies on Saturday to see “Despicable Me” and had a pretty good time.  I kind of embarrassed Rachel when I started dancing and rocking out to Justin Beeber (or what ever the little homo’s name is).  And Parker let one of the little girls know right off the bat that “just because he isn’t your daddy dosn’t mean he can’t pop you.  Aint that right daddy?”  So I didn’t have any problems with the little girls.   Despicable Me was pretty funny.  I kind of had to high of expectations but over all it was a pretty funny movie.

I cut the World Cup on it “extra” time and watched for about 5 or so minutes and saw the goal.  This is by far the best way to watch a soccer match.  It was awesome.  I got to hear “GOAL!!!!” and only had to watch soccer for 5 minutes to get it.  Very nice.  Very Glad that shit is over.  I tried, but it sucked.

After being able to sleep on the Lebron thing over the weekend and get to see him in Miami with his new number and call for 5 or 6 titles – it hadn’t changed my mind on him.  I will make it very easy.  Lebron removed himself from “Greatest of All time” conversations.  That is it.  Really nothing more or less so lets move on.

Braves go into the All star break with series wins over Philly and the Mets.  Good job Atlanta.  I voted Billy Wagner into the All star game because Jon Scherholtz (spelling) told me to just to find out that he has declined the offer…  O.K. then.

3D movies.  I mentioned earlier that I went to see “Despicable Me” but I failed to mention that it was in 3d.  WOW!  I love me some 3D.  It was great.  It really made a cartoon movie come to life.  Daddy Likey.  Just a matter of time before they bring this technology to the Porn industry and change everything.

Buzz Light Year Slip-N-Slide.  Got it set up yesterday and it sucked balls.  Went to exchange it today for something different.  Probably the Woody one.

So what did Lebron tell us?

I think he told us that winning a Title is THE most important thing to him.  Isn’t that what we want in a professional athlete?  How many times do we want the athletes we watch to make their decisions based on winning titles not just the money?  Why is this different?  Why are we all hating on a man that just made the type of decision that we crave so many others to do?  I tell you why.  Because we viewED Lebron as a possible “Greatest of all-time” type player.  We have been convinced of it from every single media outlet since he was a senior in high school.  We were going to be able to witness the next Michael Jordan.  And all of sudden our generation became the “old guy” that kept telling these young whipper snappers that “he aint no Jordan.”  Well, we were correct.  He aint no Jordan and He aint no Kobe.  These guys didn’t have to go out and chase a title.  They brought a title to themselves.  That is what the Greats do; they bring titles home, they don’t have to go out and get them.

That said, Pat Riley sold his soul to the Devil.  He is the master mind behind what is arguably the biggest free agent signing in the history of free agency.  I can not wait to see who all he talks in to taking the league minimum just to come be apart of this.  That will be his icing on his cake.

How many balls will they play with?

Are there enough basketballs in the city of Miami to go around for these 3? I think not. Lebron has self proclaimed himself the KING and even wanted to wear number 23 coming out of high school, but what has he done to prove he should be the man over D-Wade? Nothing! D-Wade will be the man on that team and he will be the one with the ball in crunch time, I don’t care if you call yourself the KING you don’t argue with the guy who has the RING. IF Lebron goes his ego will not him stay long. I want to hear what you guys think.nba_team_usa1_sw_576

notice the lack of camel toes on these women.  very nice.

What do you mean they already had last call?

The only person that calls more attention to himself than Lebron. But even good ol’ John has never had a one special.

Best Lebron Story

This is how you write a story about Lebron… Please click this link and read it!

Is Lebron turning the Heat up?

Odds of winning the 2011 NBA championship before and after.  Of course we do not have the “after” yet but I thought it would be interesting to see what all the free agency does to the odds.  So here are the odds to win the 2011 Title as of June 25th

L.A. Lakers 7/2
Boston Celtics 5/1
Orlando Magic 5/1
Cleveland Cavaliers 6/1
Denver Nuggets 10/1
Oklahoma City Thunder 15/1
Chicago Bulls 18/1
Dallas Mavericks 20/1
Phoenix Suns 20/1
San Antonio Spurs 20/1
Utah Jazz 25/1
Portland Blazers 25/1
New York Knocks 25/1
Miami Heat 25/1
Houston Rockets 25/1
Milwaukee Bucks 40/1
Atlanta Hawks 40/1
New Orleans Hornets 40/1
New Jersey Nets 50/1
Charlotte Bobcats 50/1
Memphis Grizzlies 50/1
L.A. Clippers 50/1
Golden State Warriors 75/1
Indiana Pacers 75/1
Philadelphia 76ers 75/1
Toronto Raptors 75/1
Washington Wizards 100/1
Sacramento Kings 100/1
Detroit Pistons 100/1
Minnesota Timberwolves 125/1

tomorrow we will look to see what the odds do post Lebron.  I have just a  hunch that if he does go to Miami that 25:1 would move a little bit.  just a hunch.  It is kind of crazy to see how much impact some one makes that has never won a title…

Southern Fried’s most Hated list

This is a list of people that this blog hates the most.  These people are affiliated with sports somehow.  Either they play, they coach, they own, they broadcast, or you see them at the games ie Jack at the Lakers game.  I would like this list to be like most of the things on Southern Fried and to represent this blog, it’s bloggers, and it’s readers.  So I am looking for comments here.  Likes, Dislikes, suggestions, etc..  So lets get started.

sweetlouLou Holtz – Stroke face himself.  He makes absolutely no sense I would rather put my dick in a meat grinder than listen to him speak.  His bullshit pregame speeches on ESPN make me cringe and I pray that one of his magic tricks is to make himself disappear.

Steven A Smith – THUG!!  How this guy has a radio show I will never know.  If you don’t speak ebonics then don’t try and listen because you will be clueless as to what is going on.

barry-bonds-hawaiiBarry Bonds – Not because of the steroids.  Not because of the tax evasion.  Not because of the mistress.  Ok, maybe a little bit of this stuff or maybe all of it collectively but Barry Bonds is the most unapproachable person in sports and he has no right to be.

Tiger Woods – I put him on this list for Culpepper and Reese.  We all have heard your reasons and I thought they were good enough for him to make it.

Michael Vick – I didn’t really have a problem with the Dog Fighting.  But this last shooting deal at 2 am at a party puts him on my list.

John Calipari – If you like anything about Collegiate athletics then you hate this man.  He is everything that is wrong with it.

George Steinbrenner – Do I really need an explanation here?

nolan2Nolan Richardson – first of all he sues Arkansas for racial reasons and loses..  he had the worst  graduation rate of any coach, even the black ones – and now he is in the WNBA

Lane Kiffin – Kid Kiffin.  When Al Davis called him a worthless liar we all thought Al was just saying something crazy again…  Turns out Ol’ man Al actually knew what he was talking about here.

Craig and Adam James – Poster boy of why you should beat your kids ass..  We all have known this guy.  And we didn’t like him.  He may not make the final list but why not put him on the rough draft.

Terrell Ownes – Really!  Are you serious?  Can you be any more of a douche bag?  Every team you go to ends up not liking you.  You weren’t even a good fantasy wr last year.  So shut up.

Bud Sleig – Could their be a worse commissioner of a professional sport?  I can’t think of one.  He embraced steriods while everyone was watching the homerun battle between Mark and Sammy and then plays dumb.  Plus he looks creepy.

Who else will make our list and who needs to come off?

And NASCAR is rigged

You can't tell me that the race on Friday night didn't seem a little too well scripted. Come on now...Junior has been mired in a two year drought and couldn't find victory lane with a map and Jimmy Johnson driving him, but the night that he breaks out Sr's yellow & blue Wrangler paint scheme he suddenly remembers how to drive and win a race? If you believe this was all just coincidence, you probably also believe that Ric Flair could stand toe-to-toe with Rampage in the Octagon and have a chance at victory. NASCAR, just like wrastlin', is for entertainment only and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I am getting married.....

I figured since Joe can make posts about having another baby girl - god bless you man - I should be able to make a post about getting married this weekend. My girl and I leave for Jamaica on Thursday morning and will be getting married this Saturday afternoon on the beach. Everyone keeps asking me if I am nervous or am I ready to run and I don't get it. Am I missing something? We have lived together for two years and I think I know this woman pretty well, but evidently the minute I say "I Do" and put another ring on it, she is going to turn into a she-devil and destroy my life. Anyway, I figured that this cast of characters would be chock full of bad marriage advice and horror stories so please fire away.

It’s a Girl

We found out this morning that we are having another girl.  I think everyone that reads this blog understands just how bad I wanted a boy.  Going into it I had  all but convinced myself that the young lady that did the ultrasound would look at us and say, “Congratulations!  There is a huge penis!” but she didn’t and so I thought about why?  Or How?  How could we get pregnant 3 times ALL with a 50% chance of hitting a boy and never getting one?  I mean you are looking at 8:1 odds here of all 3 being the same sex…  If I put money 8:1 horse to win the Derby you can bet your sweet ass he wouldn’t.  My first reaction was all inside.  I wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice.  Like when Traci told me she was pregnant with this one and I responded, “Well  Fuck!!” and then hung up.  Not this time. When the lady explained that the small “hamburger” that we were looking at was our little girls tootoo and that IT was now a SHE – I don’t want to use the words “disappointed” so I will go with “less excited” – And why the hell would they call it a small hamburger?  Why not just go with beef curtains for Christ’s Sake?  Anyone who knows how much my little girls love their daddy know that I am not “disappointed” at all that I will have a third.  I am actually getting more and more excited the more I think about it.  And really?  It’s probably for the best that I don’t have a boy.  I would expect him to be a supreme athlete while handing him absolutely no athletic genes.  I would expect him to be a well behaved young man that is good in school while teaching him through my examples to do the opposite.   So after chewing on this for a couple of hours, I am pretty damn happy that I am having a third girl.  At least this way, it’s guaranteed that I will not have a faggot son.

Friday Night

Last night was a special moment if you are a Dale Jr or Dale Sr fan.  I never liked Dale Sr but I am a Jr fan and last night was just fun to watch.  The wrangler #3 car, that Sr. won so many of his races on, was running near the front of the pack last night in Daytona with Jr behind the wheel.  This would be the last time that Jr would ever drive a car with a #3 on the side and this is how it ended..

Hopefully this will be the race that gets Jr going and he will be able to carry this energy into the Sprint Cup.

The Braves did everything they could in the top of the 11th last night to give a win away to the Marlins.  Jonny Venters looked like a retard when they caught a Marlin on a squeeze play and when Chipper tossed Venters the ball to tag the runner on his way home Venters dropped the damn ball.  This is in the top of the 11th inning with 1 out and runners all over the place.  An out there is HUGE!! Marlins ended up scoring 1 and then Venters gets himself out of the inning.  Then the bottom comes up and here is how it ended…

I know we talked about it earlier in the year, but these guys just seem to be having fun.  And after I watched the race and turned it over this game It felt different.  After Venters made that mistake normally I would have been saying, “typical F@#$ing Braves”  but last night I felt good about our chances.  This is a different Braves team and if you are planning on watching in the post season when we are on our way to the World Series.. you may want to go ahead and jump on the band wagon now.

I’m not sure if you guys have ever watched the

Not sure if you guys have ever heard of the Squidbillies on Adult Swim but it is one funny ass show.  Here is a little bit of an older show for you.

I know where some people could see this as making fun of Georgia fans but I DO NOT!!  I love this show and can not get enough of it.

That wasn't Damon Evans, this is.............

Can't believe John posted the wrong pic. Just here to help out my fellow bloggers.

DUMB ASS

Michael Vick is just a dip shit.  I have been very supportive of him, even after the dog fighting, claiming the lack of guidance that he has had growing up.  I am also very understanding of professional athletes that screw up.  I think it is just so much easier to get caught up in stupid things when you are making tons of money and almost everything you have ever done has been covered up for you.  Combine that with the media watching every move you make is just a recipe for disaster.  But I was wrong about Vick.  He obviously hasn’t learned anything.  The most important thing you do when changing your life style is changing your circle of influence.  You are the people that you associate with whether you like it or not and if you are at a party after midnight with thugs with hand guns then obviously you don’t understand this.  He has lost everything he has had and now has a 2nd chance and is going to screw it up…  Well, he disserves it.  and so do the vultures who latched on to him and never let go.  After his “homies” turned state on him faster than Lindsey Lohan gets out of rehab on the dog fighting ring - I thought that he would have learned this really easy rule of circle of influence; but I was wrong.  The first thing Vick needs to do is not look at changing himself, its changing who he associates with.

Damon Evans, really?

OK, lets get this straight. You are a 40 year old black male who is paid $550,000/year to be the Athletics Director at a top tier SEC program that happens to be your own alma matter. And you really don't have the common sense to not drink and drive? Evans will be fired I'm sure and he'll be lucky to land a job paying him 10% of his current salary.

We can all take something from this, when our day is going bad, just think of what Damon just did and it will make everything better instantly.

2010 LSU Tigers

North Carolina is the opener in Atlanta and I like the Tigers in this game.  Starting the season off 1-0

Vandy in Nashville is next.  This is probably a good game to fall back on after such a big opener in Atlanta.  Tigers go to 2-0

Mississippi State at home.  Last year Miss St threw 3 picks and lost a fumble and only got beat by 4 points.  I think State could make a statement in this game but I’m giving the edge to Baton Rouge at night.

West Virginia at home.  Coming off a nail bitter against Mississippi State – The Tigers play down to their competition again but squeak out another one moving their record to 4-0 and big time “over-rated” talks are starting.

Tigers take care of business against UT at home going to 5-0

Then Florida, in the Swamp, hands them their first loss of the season dropping them to 5-1

McNeese St 6-1

Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium.  Auburn will be coming off a loss to Arkansas and LSU will still have their heads held low from the loss in Gainesville.  Auburn wins at home moving LSU to 6-2

Then LSU will have an off week.  What better time to have a bye.  Coming in 1-2 of your last 3 games with the defending National Champs coming into your house with your old Head Coach…  LSU upsets Bama at home moving to 7-2

UL-Monroe 8-2

Ole Miss at home.  Last years embarassing ending will be replaced with a home win.  9-2

Arkansas in Little Rock.  Les Miles is in this game towards the end and just does something stupid to cost them the game and the Tigers finish 9-3.

PROGNOSTICATING and Friday notes

Since we all are so very good at predicting the future – I thought we would go through some of the schedules and not just throw out a win/loss record for a handful of teams but actually which teams win what games.  This should take a while and I’m sure that we will not be agreeing much but I would like for people to argue their reasons.

Teams: SEC - LSU, Arkansas, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina.  ACC – Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech

Reese, I understand that you are the minority on the this blog with your ACC affiliations so let me know if you would like us to dive into any other teams in your weak ass conference.

The point of this is to see where everyone stands on each team.  This is not to get personal and just bash other teams (Starrett and Culpepper I am talking to you here) – I know that I always go into the season with high hopes and its nice (sometimes) to hear where other people stand.  Also, this will be able to give us a better understanding of other teams.  While I enjoy reading Pre-Season magazines, its totally different to hear it from a fans perspective.

So Monday we will get into LSU.

Also, Couple of things we hadn’t talked about any.  Vince Young slappin a bitch, Where is Labron going, Steven Strasburgh (spelling) is ridiculous, and The US Open.

Vince Young is a Moron.  I don’t have a problem with looking at naked women for entertainment but if you are a multi millionaire couldn’t get your own your private show?  This is not who I would want running my football team.  He isn’t a stupid a Big Ben, or maybe he just hadn’t gotten caught as many times.

Labron.  I think he is going to New York.  I think he is going to buy stock in Madison Square Gardens before he signs, I think he wants his brand to go global and their is no better city in the States to go Global than New York, and I think he knows that this will buy him some time on winning a championship.

Steven.  If you guys have not watched this kid pitch you need too.  I’m talking the sports center highlights either.  Watch a game, its sick.

US Open.  I didn’t get a chance to watch the final day but I watch a large part of the first 3 days.  I was kind of pulling for Dustin Johnson just because he is from South Carolina but I was enjoying seeing Tiger starting to make a come back.  I didn’t care for the guy who won it.  And I also would like to say if you wear a white belt while playing golf I hope their is an asshole like me in the woods with a horn.

Wimbledon Marathon

I'm sure you all saw the fifth set marathon between former UGA player John Isner vs Mahut at Wimbledon yesterday. I watched a good portion of this match and it was insane. Neither player could break serve and the match was halted at 59-59 in the fifth set due to darkness. The fifth set alone set a record for the longest match in ATP history. Sad thing is that the winner of this match is likely to get swept off the court in their 2nd round match due to fatigue alone. Hopefully Isner can take the Frenchman out and advance. He has the game to be dangerous at Wimbledon. He's around 6'-8" and can murder a serve. Here's to hoping the American wins and digs deep for some energy in the second round.

Hump Day… except at my house

SCORE!!! was what every single person today heard, read, or said.  I guess the US scored on a late goal to advance them into the round of 16 in the World Cup…  I’m sorry to say but I have not watched much World Cup… as in I have watched about 3 minutes and that is it.  Maybe I will get a little more excited about next week but I just don’t give a shit about it.

Quick fishing story from last weekend.  We were staying down at Boca Grande Fl (an island) and there was a really nice golf course.  We were pulling back into the docks around noonish and saw where we were going to be pulling right by a threesome teeing off.  When I say “right by” I mean literally with in 25 yards of these guys.  I then noticed that the boat had a small horn on it and right when we were riding by one of the guys was in the middle of his back swing and I yelled “HEY!!!” and blew the horn..  He was fucking pissed and I was laughing out loud which made him even more mad.

I feel like total shit today.  I had strep throat last Thursday and I took some left over Antibiotics and got better for the weekend.  I then stopped taking them when I started feeling better and now I’m feeling the same way.  So back on the Antibiotics tonight.

I know the blog has been real shitty lately and we owe you, our readers, a better product.  We, as in you sorry pieces of shit that are supposed to be authors, need to step our game up and get this thing rolling strong going into football season.  So get off your asses and lets start some shit up.

Start doing research…  Will not be long before we start prodicting records of certain teams like GA, Bama, AU, GT, UT, etc…  So have your shit ready because we will be able to come back to this at the end of the season and see how everyone did.

ArKansas to the Big XII??

http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1095242

This is not suprising given Arkansas' past with the SWC, but would the money be there for them to actually leave te SEC? If they do, you know the Big XII will add another team, but who? Also, what does this do to the SEC? Who do they add? I'm off to get my pump on, so I'll return in the morning with my thoughts on this scenario. Outtie 5000 Leroys.

Dont underestimate the power of “rough talkin”

Mid Week Bull

2 people were arrested for sending over 30 women dressed in orange dresses to advertise for a beer company at the World Cup…  I’m sure I do not have the story correct but I needed a reason to put this picture on the blog..

ept_sports_sow_experts-642910203-1276702410 (1)

LAKERS CELTICS game 7 tomorrow night..  who it is?  who it is?  Lakers are laying 7 points at the moment and I’m thinking its a double digit win.  How many times do we go into a game 7 with such high expectations and then get let down with a blow out?  I see this one the same way.

I will be going Tarpon fishing this weekend and look to have a good time.  I am going to try my best (If I’m not just completely shit faced) to do a “mobile post” – the down side of this is that I will not have spell check so I will appear to be in even worse shape than really am, but I think it is worth the try.  So if you see some crazy shit on here over the next couple of days then that is why.

If any of you have ipods or mp3 players I plan on doing a very good post on the very best way to get music off the net for free and be able to put it on your ipod.  I showed this to Culpepper and he has not been the same since.  So stay tuned for that.

Authors of the blog need to step it up.  This blog is titled “SOUTHERN FRIED” – it is not MY blog it is OUR blog so step it up bitches.   Its not very hard to put some thoughts together and post them.  What are you scared of?  sounding stupid?  well I would hope that my dumbass takes that fear away.  So lets go.

Tuesday’s gone with the wind

SEC From 1991 – 1996 Florida won the SEC 5 of 6 years.  Since then only Tennessee has won it back to back.  Well here recently it feels like the conference is very lop sided.  Chris Low writes on his ESPN blog this morning about how Florida and Alabama have only 3 loses in the last 2 years combined and 2 of 3 are to each other.  Is the SEC that Top Heavy or is this the year we have somebody sneak up?

CONFERENCES Well it appears that the Big 12 is just so happy that they are still going to be a conference that they will pay Texas anything they want.  They also said the hell with the conference championship game.  I guess since the Nebraska is gone from the north its probably not that bad of an idea..  I just thought the point of this whole deal was to get conferences to where they have a conference championship game…  so why doesn’t the Big 12 pick up Utah and TCU so they will stop bitching so much?

WORLD CUP I’m trying..  I really am.  But this shit is tough to watch.  and those God Damn horns are killing me – with that said, I think it’s ridiculous to ban them.  This isn’t our country and it’s not our sport – so shut up about the horns.  If you have tried to watch a game and struggled then I would suggest listening to it on ESPN radio.  The announcers tell you what is going on and when I’m watching it I don’t have clue.

BRAVES the braves have a big game tonight against the Rays.  Believe it or not this could actually be the teams playing in the World Series this year.

CELTICS LAKERS I picked the Lakers in 7 from the start and I’m sticking with it.  I think the Celtics legs will eventually go out from under them and Kobe (THE BEST PLAYER IN BASKETBALL) will come up big and win again.

“I guarantee it”

Pully, this is Dana White saying that he Guarantees that this was the iceman’s last fight..  I was with you in wanting a Ortiz fight to finish it off but Dana sounds pretty convinced that this is it for Chuck..

UFC 115

Did anyone see this over the weekend? I saw some of the replays and I hope that Chuck "Iceman" Liddell retires after this last fight. The rewind button was just about wore out after trying to really see the punch that ended it for him. I didn't see much, but that really doesn't matter. To me it seems that the Iceman really made this sport mainstream popular and to see him getting his ass whooped like this is just sad. I actually read his biography and was shocked to learn that he is a pretty smart guy. I just hope he is smart enough to give it up before he has to resort to color by number coloring books.

New Look!

My job with this blog is not just to provide you with GREAT shit to read and watch, but also to entertain you with pretty good arguments amongst our group of authors and to also have a blog that is very attractive.  So I am toying around with some settings, layouts, backgrounds, etc…  As always your opinion matters, so please feel free to shoot a comment over saying what you like and what you don’t.  keep in mind, i am trying to achieve a blog that looks as ligitament as possible.

Conference Wonderland

Nebraska is in the Big 10. Now if they go after Mizzo - then that leaves the Big 12 as the Big 10 and the Big 10 as the Big 12…  Then if the Pac 10 gets Colorado, which it also has apparently done, and then goes after Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M then the Pac 10 will be the Pac-16.  Then the Big 10, or now the Big 12, will go after 4 other schools.  Probably ND and 3 others, prolly from the Big East.  Then you will have the SEC not wanting to be left out so they will go after several schools like GT, FSU, Miami, and Clemson.  Then you will have a weak ACC and Big East so they combine and you get the Pac 16, the SEC16, the Big 16, and the BigAtlantic16..

This is all because of the Big 10 network.  That’s it.  No other reason.  The Big 10 gets something like 7 or 8 cents per subscriber of the Big 10 network in states with out a Big 10 school BUT in states with a Big 10 school they get something like 48 cents per subscriber.   Now all the other conferences are seeing just how much money can be made from these TV networks.

2 new channels to come very soon…  The SEC network and the PAC network.

What will this change?  Probably not as much as some think.  All the playoff people will be kind of happy because they will probably get some kind of playoff now but the BCS haters should probably get a little scared.  If you think the BCS is powerful now… just wait till they are over 4 super conferences.

Monday Monday

Well I’m not 22 anymore.  I just can’t do it like I used to.  3 days of rockin and rollin will put a hurtin on a fella in my condition.  Last night I thought I was having a heart attack.  I really did.  I asked Traci to keep an eye on me because I was having chest pains.  “Why do you think you are having chest pains Joe,” she asked.  “well Traci,  Over the last 4 days I have drank an enough alcohol to kill a small country and smoked enough cigarettes to give a monkey lung cancer.  I also have eating nothing but BBQ pork and so much of it I almost vomited several times afterward”  I answered.  So yesterday I just hung out, relaxed and watched the race while dozing in and out…  I didn’t have a heartache but I did take a really good nap and had a really really cool dream.  I dreamed that I had media credentials and I could get in these things as a member of the media and take pictures and do interviews.  So I started looking into what it takes to get “credentials” and I found out that it doesn’t take much at all.  Really, it doesn’t.  At least that is what it said when I googled it.

So here is my plan.  I have contacted Troy Cable, where my commercials run, and talked to them about if they had coming up anytime soon that I could be apart of.  They said that they had a Blue Grass festival coming up that they wouldn’t mind me doing some interviews for them , so I said GREAT!!!  Then I contacted the local newspaper and spoke with the editor about taking some pictures at a high school sporting event for him and he said sure.  So here is what I’m thinking.  I plan on getting in to some events as a media person, making some contacts and getting a feel for how things go.  Then I will attempt to make a jump at bigger things like college football games and concerts.  This will be a process people so don’t expect over night success.  I will not be asking questions at this years super bowl but I will be doing some things that I’m sure will bring you some reading enjoyment.

Lakers/Celtics.  Lakers win game 1, Celtics win game 2.  I still like the Lakers in 7.

Braves.  Split with the Dodgers and will continue a pretty long road trip out west.  If we back from the west coast still up on the Phillies we several home games scheduled we could be looking even better than we are right now.

Conference Expansion.  Enough already.  Since their are no decent news stories going on right now we see a head line that says some thing about expansion.  after reading it we realize we didn’t learn anything we didn’t already know.  So stop talking about the shit until something good comes along.

Season Finale of Justified coming on tomorrow.  If for some reason reason you have not watched it yet, just go get season 1 when it comes out.  Dont start our on the season’s last episode.  And after this then what are we to watch?  Really, what?  Someone please let me in on what I can watch on TV this summer if I want to take a break from the Bravos.

Hump Day – so lets hump.

Next week is the Season Finale and I am excited for the show but hate the fact that its over.  Things seem to be getting very crazy..  You got Ava Crowder (Bowman’s widow – Ava killed him) catching Raylan banging his ex-wife (not bad sex scene for cable tv either), Bo Crowder (Bowman’s father) just inked a deal with some guys from Miami to ship a shit load of drugs his way for him to make a ton of meth in his new warehouse he just bought but Boyd Crowder, Bo’s son and Bowman’s brother, blew the truck up for God.   And that was just last night.  Great First Season.  If you have not watched this show then do yourself a favor and get the First Season when it comes out.  (Mike Stuckey Agrees) You will probably be able to get it on Netflix pretty soon.

About Netflix – has anyone gotten a WII and hooked up with Netflix on-line for $9 a month?  I have spoken to several people about this and everyone has said that it is the shit.  You can download movies and TV shows straight to your TV.   I will be trying this in the near the Future.

Lakers Celtics – WOW!!  OK, lets get over the fact that D Howard, Lebron James, and Steve Nash will all be watching the finals instead of us watching them.  Could we really ask for a better Finals?  Really?  I say this with me being the one that wanted to see Nash win one more than anybody on the court but when its all said and done don’t we really want to see the best play the best?  It’s not a coincidence that these two teams make up over half the championships in the NBA.  I am really happy about this match up and think that its going to be a knock down drag out of a series.  Prediction: Lakers in 7 with at least 1 of the games going into overtime.

Well Bamajam is finally here – Brad Parham will be arriving tonight and Elliot Poole will be arriving tomorrow – both bringing their wives.  We should have a really really good time. Videos, pictures, and stories to come.

Phil Steele is full-o-shit!!

I was watching CFB live the other day and they were asking him about why he has OU #1 and this and that. They also asked him to pick a "Sleeper" team. He said he'd have to go with the Dawgs to win the east and possibly run the table. Can this happen or is this just him trying to sell a magazine to the masses? He doesn't even have my jackets in his top 25. What a douche. I say this to Phil Steele......."When the leaves start turning, the option starts churning biaaatch". On a side note, my brother ran into CMR at a local grocery store here in Hartwell (Bell's) over the weekend. He was trying to pick up a cashier. Nice work Richt.

Idol

Well I guess this will be my last post about American Idol this year and I was trying to put into words how I felt when Lee was announced the winner and I personally felt that Crystal should have won…  I obviously wasn’t the only person that felt this way.

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Hump Day

Idol – last night I think Crystal won American Idol.  I just believe that she has the best “talent”  - I am very happy to say that who ever is announced the winner tonight that it will not be an upset.   Lee is great and I’m just happy that after watching this season that I am guaranteed not to be disappointed who ever wins.

Dancing with the Stars – Erin Andrews career on DWTS is officially over.  So I will no longer be watching.

I don’t know if any of you people have been watching “Justified” on FX but it is my favorite show on TV right now.  It’s about a US Marshal in Kentucky named Raylan Givins and he is a bad ass.  I have not missed 1 minute of 1 show and it has become Traci and I’s TV show.  Soprano’s used to be our TV night together and no matter what was going on we watched the Soprano’s together and now we have Justified.  (i am not comparing the two – i’m just saying if your looking for a good show that your better half will also enjoy then its a good one.  I’m not sure if any show will ever even come close to the Sopranos)

It looks like the Suns are not going to just roll over and die.  I think that this screams just how important Steve Nash is.  When we have watched Labron and Howard just tuck their tales between their legs and run, its nice to see someone like Nash lead his team to back to back wins after being down 2-0.   I really hope that he can carry them to the finals and beat the Celtics.  We all know that a Championship ring separates the great players and I think he disserves one.

BP – I’ m kinda of sick of hearing everyone bash BP.  I may be in the minority here but shut up.  They are doing everything they can to resolve this problem and it makes me sick to hear people bitch and moan and then go get in their 15 MPG SUV.  I guess what I’m trying to say is that this Oil Spill bothers me a great deal.  But most of it is for selfish reasons so I just keep my mouth shut.  I heard someone the other day say how happy they were that the Spill is going to miss Destin.  I asked how they felt about it hitting the keys and isn’t that just as bad?  No response.  I fell so sorry for all of the people that this will have an impact on and pray that something like this will never happen again.  But to be very honest, praying is pretty much all I am going to do.  I will continue to drive a 4x4 F150 and a 4x4 Suburban that get horrible fuel economy and I have no plans of changing any of my habits to try and reduce the amount of oil this country is so dependent on.  Someone please tell me where I am wrong here.

June is going to be a HUGE month for me.  I have Bamajam coming up in just a week in a half and then just 2 weeks later I have the best fishing trip I have ever gone on in Boca Raton Fl.  We will be in the prime Tarpon run and will be catching some of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean.  While getting them to the boat you have 100’s of hammer head sharks trying to eat them.  I tell you, this should be very very fun.

Thursday

Ok, when I say these are the best 2 people on the show when their are 12 left… you should listen.  If you hadn’t watched Idol in two months but you read my post of who my Top 5 are then you already know who the final 2 are.  It’s tight right now.  If you are making your call based on recent performances then you like Lee but if you are basing it on the entire show then you are probably going with Crystal.  I’m starting to think that Crystal picked a little to early. Did she get her teeth fixed?  I am going to look at some old and new pictures but for some reason I thought her teeth looked a lot better than they used too.

Looking like we are going to have a good old fashion Celtics Lakers Championship.  I love it.  I have to say that I picked the Magic to beat the Celtics because I said that their is no way the Old bastards could come back after fighting against the Cav’s but…  they fight.  With the Lakers being beat up as well, we should have a pretty damn good finals.

J-Hey.  Come on man.  Are you just made for clutch hitting?  I sure wish we had some other players so we could get the chance to watch you get up in a game 7 9th inning.

Reese is Slow

Reese cup wanted me to post 2 videos that, in his mind, are “Classics” – I tried my best to walk him through how to post videos but he is un able to learn…  so here are 2 videos from Reese Cup

Friday

On March 17th I picked my Top 5 Idol contestants and said this.. “Anyone other than these 5 people make it to the final 3 then i will never watch Idol again.”  You can go read it HERE – The 5 people I choose were #1 Crystal Bowersox; #2 Lee Dewyze; #5 Casey James.  I am happy to say that the final 3 were in my Top 5 2 months ago when their were 12.  I don’t think that is to shabby.

What I do think is very shabby is Lebron James.  I will call him King James when he has a ring.  For now he should be called lil Jimmy – The Celtics proved that a good team can beat a great player in a best of 7 series more times than not.  I am happy for KG, Paul P, Rajon Rhondo, and Rasheed Wallace (dont really care about big babby davis and dont know many of the others) – The next matchups are going to be NBA basketball at its best.  Now I can start watching.  Last night was the first game that I watched in its entirety all year.  I had caught a qt here or a half there but never bell to bell this year until last night.  ANd thats really par for the course for me with the NBA.  Conference finals is when I get involved enough to watch entire games or exception of an elimination game between 2 good teams like last night.  As for the Conf-Finals; who do we like?  Orlando vs. Boston and Phoenix vs. Lakers – I love me some Kobe and didn’t like what the “Los Suns” did with the their jerseys but I really want Nash to get a ring and this year may be his last real chance.  The other series I plan on watching the first couple of games and getting a feel for who I want to win.  I do like the Magic’s Head Coach Stan Van Gundy and it will be interesting to see a Doc Rivers, who I also like, go and try to beat the team who gave him his start in Professional coaching.  Should be good stuff.

A buddy, Adam Vinson, had this on his FB page yesterday and Culpepper and I both stole it and put it on ours so I thought I would share it with some of you that may have missed it.  I also shared it with Starrett yesterday.

That guy is special

1) Bama

2) Ohio St

3) Boise St

4) Virginia Tech

5) Texas

6) Florida

7) Iowa

8) Nebraska

9) TCU

10) USC

11) Arkansas

12) Pitt

13) LSU

14) Oklahoma

15) Miami

16) Oregon

17) Wisconsin

18) UNC

19) UGA

20) Auburn

21) Georgia Tech

22) Washington

23) UCONN

24) Penn St

25) FSU

Just a little something for Pepper

2nd pic comment is "Neither am I"

Poll Update

Good stuff so far – this is where I’m thinking teams are stacking up.  Let me know where you have you have a problem.  and instead of just attacking someone or some team (which it perfectly ok to do both of those things) also list where you think the team should be

16) Oregon

18) Wisconsin

19) UNC

20) Georgia – they beat both Tech and Auburn last year and everyone will agree that they are going to be better this year

21) Auburn – Just Cause

22) Tech – I have been making phone calls speaking with people that have absoulty no affliation with Georgia or Tech and every one has said that Tech is not better than Ga or Auburn.  I’m sorry Reese.

23) Washington

24) UCONN

25) Penn State

again, if you have a problem – then make a suggestion (after you attack)

16 – 20

1)Bama; 2)Ohio st; 3)Boise St; 4)VT; 5)Texas; 6)Fla; 7) Iowa; 8)Nebraska; 9)TCU; 10)USC; 11)Arkansas; 12)Pitt; 13)LSU; 14)OU'; 15)Miami

Best of the Rest

Wisconsin – finished last year 10-3 and has 17 returning starters including a QB

FSU – All new Defensive coaches, New Head Coach – and this team wasn’t all that good last year.

Stanford – To me the only reason this team is being mentioned is their QB being one of the best in the Pac-10 and the fact that anybody could win the Pac

UNC – Probably about the time we should start considering the Tar Heels.

Georgia Tech – I’m thinking around the 17ish range

Washington – Who’s do you like more, Stanford or Washington?  which ever it is gets to be in the Top 20 and the other will probably slide out of the top 25

Penn St – Finished last year ranked #9 but lost, not just the QB, their leader.

Cinncy – When tony Pike went down Zach Collaros (i googled it) stepped in with a 75% accy with 10 TD’s and 2 picks.  he may not have the build as Pike but I dont think their will be a huge drop off, if any, in the QB position.  The Coaching worries me more than anything.

Oregon State, Utah, and UConn are in the talks.

I don’t think that Georgia or Auburn disserves to be in the Top 25 even though I think both will end up there.

11-15

1) Bama; 2) Ohio St; 3) Boise St; 4) VT; 5) Texas; 6) Fla; 7) Iowa; 8) Nebraska; 9) TCU; 10) USC

Teams up for the conversation…

Oklahoma – You almost have to put OU somewhere in the mix here.  I know they lost a ton but its not like they have scrubs that are going to fill in

FSU – I’m going to need some persuasion here.  Not just Jimbo’s first year as FSU’s head coach but its his first year EVER as a head coach.  Ya’ll are going to need to help me out here

UNC – (see comments below)

Pitt – John threw Pitt out there on his initial poll and I have not looked into them at all.  I will right now though.  and John if you could let us know why you droped ‘em on us also

Oregon – We are going to have to put the Ducks up on the list pretty soon.  11,12, and no higher than 13.

Stanford – With out the RB (gehard?  spelling) I’m not sure.  You guys tell me.  I was thinking around the 20 mark.

Wisonsin – Returning 17 starters including the QB from a 10-3 team last year.  I’m thinking they deserve to be in the top 15 with all of the returners off such a good team.

Georgia Tech – Reese, your vote does not count here.  Switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 is going to be a transition but with 2 head coaches the Jackets are going to be good

Miami – I love Miami this year.  They are my sleeper team this year.  Jacory Harris is got to stop throwing picks though

Arkansas – Jody dropped Arkansas in his Top 5 and I think we are in the area where they need to be now.

LSU – returning qb and what I expect to be a really good D

Let me know if any other team deserves to be in the talks for 11-15

6 through 10

I’m going to make this a little easier to follow for our loyal viewers.  which, by the way, amazes me every time a check stats and see just how many different computers are looking at this every day.   would love for some of yall to chime in.

Teams that are being mentioned for 6-10

Iowa, Fla, OU, FSU, Nebraska, TCU, UNC, Oregon, Pitt, USC, and Stanford.

Iowa – is not in John’s top 10, Reese had them in his top 5 and now has them 6, I’m not real sold on them but wouldn’t have a problem with a 8ish ranking, Culpepper had them @5

Florida – John has @9, Reese has @7, Culpepper had them @10 so I think we all can agree about where Fla is

OU – Reese has them @8, John does not have them in his top 10, Culpepper didn’t have them in his top 10, and I dont like them much either.  So OU may be looking at a 11-15 and really only getting that because of reputation

FSU – John says no, Reese likes @9, Culpepper doesn’t really like, I don’t first year head coaches – so probably dropping FSU out of the Top 10

Nebraska – John has @ 8, Reese @9, I think Culpepper likes Nebraska in this same general area (correct me if im wrong), and I really like Nebraska.

TCU – John @ 7, Reese says no, Brad likes them in the same 7ish area that John does, and I really like them also.

UNC – you guys tell me if you think different but I think their Defense puts them in the Top 15 but not top 10.

Oregon – Culpepper makes a good point about the QB but Chip Kelley is pretty damn good at coaching QB’s up.  John has them as high as 6, I think Jody had them in his top 5, Reese didnt like them, and I think we almost have to have a Pac-10 school in the top 10 im just not sure if its USC or Oregon.

Pitt – Obviously this is John’s sleeper team since he is the only person mentioning them and I do want to give them a little respect but not top 10 respect

USC / Stanford – Really I think we just need to pick 1 Pac-10 school and put them in and put the others somewhere outside the top 10

What do yall think about this

6) Fla

7) Iowa

8) Nebraska

9) TCU

10) Oregon

Poll update

Maybe this was a bad idea…  I just got Culpepper’s top 10 and I’m starting to think that maybe we will never be able to all agree on a Top 5 let alone top 25.  He agrees with 1 and 2 but then he goes - 3)Boise St; 4)VT; 5)Iowa; 6) TCU; 7) UNC; 8) Stanford; 9) Texas; 10) Florida 11) Arkansas

His thoughts on Florida are very interesting.  How much offense did Cooper, Tebow, and Hernadez account for?  HUGE!!

Reese wants Florida ahead of Virginia Tech but it looks like VT is going to jump ahead of them based on majority rules.

1) Bama

2) Ohio St

3) Boise St

4) Virginia Tech

5) Texas

Tell me to go to hell but this is looking like what its going to be.

Lets start working on 6 through 10

Poll

Alright, got alot of input on the last post and so I wanted to just start a new one and catch up.  After Jody, John, Reese, And myself (also Culpepper had some phone input) I have sorted through all of the comments and let me know if everyone can accept this..

#1 Bama

#2 Ohio State

#3 Texas

#4 Boise State

#5 Florida

#6 Virginia Tech

this is about as fair as I could think with everyone’s input.  Tell me if you see other wise.  If not we can start on 7 through 10 talks with Iowa and Oregon leading the way.

Sleeper's???

Who's your sleeper team to come up and bite some people in the ass?? Is it Iowa, Kansas St, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA (running out of the pistol formation), FSU, Auburn, Arkansas, etc?

I think I'm going to go with two teams, Aubbie and FSU. Both teams are going to be stout on O. Auburn has some questions at D with Roof(if he's still there)? FSU should be better on D with a Stoops running the show. I think my Jackets are going to have a tough time with them in the ACCCG.

Pre-Season Polls

I hate pre-season polls.  Wait a minute, let me rephrase that.  I love pre-season polls… ok, can I love and hate them?  Because I think I do.  We have a unique relationship, pre-season polls and myself.  See, I hate the fact that pre-season polls can have a HUGE impact on who plays, or doesn’t play, for the National Championship (Auburn ‘04) but I absolutely love looking at them.  I will buy every pre-season magazine I see and read them from cover to cover.  I will make notes on them that I will never go back and read.  I just love looking at them.

Well, since I am a journalist now and trying to get recognized by the associated press so I can have a “official” AP vote – I need a pre-season poll.  WE need a preseason poll.  And instead of just writing down 10 teams and tallying them up – lets debate it and agree on it.  Then we will have OUR first annual “SOUTHERN FRIED PRE-SEASON POLL”  and with its success we can continue it though the regular season.  Should be good.  With everything you need a Commissioner and since I did start this blog then I will be placing myself in that position – also I will be placing Reese as Associate Commissioner to make sure that I am handling the poll with as little bias as possible.  I want to try and take this poll pretty serious.  So understand that we will be arguing about where teams should be and your not going to get your way every time so don’t get your feelings hurt and stop making suggestions.  Also, the amount of people that agree with teams is huge.  So even if you are just a reader, a comment just saying “I agree with Brad here”  goes a long way.

Thank you in advance for making the SOUTHERN FRIED POLL a huge success

Here are some teams that I would like to start with.  Lets agree on a Top 5 and then move forward from there.

#1 Alabama – I do not think that Alabama will repeat with the losses they had on Defense (2 1st rounder's and 2 2nd rounder's on from the Defensive side of the ball) and with the target on their back.  I do think that Saban is the best coach in college football, and they are the most talented team in the country, but their is a reason no one goes back to back.  But I don’t think anyone can argue that they are the pre-season #1

#2 Texas – Strong Safety went in the 1st round, also had 2 other Defensive players in the 2nd round and McCoy and Shipley being gone on Offense will have to hurt the long horns

#3 Ohio State – Averaged over 29 points per game last year and didn’t have an offensive player drafted.  Actually they didn’t even have a player drafted in the first 3 rounds.  Weak Big 10 equals Ohio State in top 5.

#4 Virginia Tech – Tech didn’t lose much from a team last year that only lost 3 games and they open this year up with a Boise State team that will probably have a single digit ranking next to their name.  Last years loss to Alabama to open the season will have a impact on this years team and Boise State will shit themselves when “Enter Sandman” starts and the place goes nuts.  After Tech wins this game then they will be up in the Top 5.

I can’t put Boise State in the Top 5, just cant do it.  Who goes next? Oregon with out a QB? Florida maybe?  TCU?  Surely not IowaNebraska maybe?  Wisconsin

Remember we got 6 – 10 as soon as we figure out the Top 5.  Then we go after 11-15.  Then wrap it up with 16 –25, which should really be fun.

Los Suns??

I guess if I really cared then I would look into the Arizona law that was recently passed about immigration – and its obvious if you have ever read one of my posts that I am not ashamed to show my ignorance.. So here goes.  My understanding of this law is that law enforcement officials have the right to ask people that look like they may not be in the United States legally for an I.D. and/or Visa.  If the person can not provide valid information stating that they are here legally then the officer arrests them.  (if i am way off base here someone correct me please)  People against the law like the Phoenix Suns are being very vocal – changing their Uniforms in the playoffs to Los Suns…  Why?  Why on earth would you do this if your the Suns?  Are you worried that you are going to have to find someone else to cut your grass or spread your pine straw?  Racial Profiling is the biggest problem that people are having with this, not the grass cutting.  If the police drove by my house and pulled in to my drive way - said to me that their is a killer in this area and he is 6ft, 220ish, White, with dark hair and we would like to ask you a couple of questions.  I would be more than happy to help out how ever I could, profile me - then exclude me - then go on with your investigation.  I don’t see the problem.  (on a side note, I do like it when the people at the pre pay pumps profile me and go ahead and turn the pump on – guess most of the drive offs don’t come from tall good looking white guys) – So back to the Suns.  What are they going to gain by being vocal on this issue vs. What can they possibly lose?  Simple Risk vs. Reward equation.  Risks? Lose support from everyone in the state that is for the law which is obviously a large part if the bill passed.  Reward?….  I can not think of something they could gain here?  Maybe because I am for the law or at least what I know about it…

Speaking of Mexicans. Last night we all went out to eat, of course at a Mexican place, and I realized that their were nothing but Americans celebrating a Mexican Holiday while Mexicans worked their asses off.  Our waiter was literally sweating profusely while tending to his tables.  I felt kind of bad.  But then a really Fat couple tried to sit down in the booth next to us…  TRIED!! but failed.  The guy went to sit down first and stopped right before his gut hit the table and then raised back up.  His lady friend then went for it and didn’t even make it as far as he did.  She then said, “lets just sit over here” and pointed at the table behind me.  Then she sat down and her chair slid into mine pushing me forward.  I was tickled and scared at the same time.  Then I heard her tell the waiter, “2 cheese dips and a Diet Coke please.”  I turned around and said, “Its a tight Squeeze, aint it?”  ok, I made that last part up -I didn’t say anything.

Mayo 5th

Lacrosse Murder – this is just crazy.  this guy admits to “shaking her” and while shaking her head hit the wall several times..  she was found in a pool blood with a large bruise on her face…  this makes me sick and I don’t know if the guy has admitted guilt (and if he hasn’t then he is presumed innocent – remember the Duke case) but if he has admitted guilt then I hope that Virginia brings the pain on this Bastard.

Braves – I don’t know what is going on here but the season is not very old and we were talking earlier about the team chemistry and how good we felt about this years possibilities but it appears that we have the Braves of old..  not 90’s old, more like the 80’s.  If you can’t beat the Nationals then we have major issues.

Conference realignment – This could get very interesting after its all said and done but it could also end up with the Big 10 just adding 1 more team and then its over.     SI has a article that I just started reading this morning but hadn’t finished and they have a scenario that ends up with 3 power conferences.  Pac-10 Big –10 and SEC all having 16 teams.  This could be very dangerous for anyone that is not in these power conferences – which I really don’t have a problem with.  This could end up being pretty cool though.  Have 3 Conf. Championships and 1 non-power conference and you have a 4 team play off.  I would be ok with this but I would still fear this 4 team playoff expanding later into 8 then 16 then 24.

What are your thoughts on Conference realignment.  Who would you like to see added to conferences?

Tuesday

Just got back from our first ultra sound.  Well, not exactly our first one – our first one on this one.  Good news is that their is only one in there and we should find out if he has a pecker or not in 2 months.  We will be having C section since the other two were done that way and Doc wants to schedule it about a week before the due date which is Dec. 8th.  Looks like I may be watching the Dawgs win the SEC championship from a hospital…

Guy runs on to the field in Phillie and gets tasered…  uhhh believe that will work.  8 years ago I was the guy that would run on to the field.  never did, but I was “that guy” – if I knew that I would be tasered instead of just tackeled then I would choose not to do it.  So good call on the Taser.  (im not sure i am spelling taser right) – check out how it drops him.  very nice.

several Phillies had there gloves over their face covering up the laughter.

Chad 8-5 stepped it up last night on Dancing with the Stars – he is still probably around 3 or 4th place behind the gay looking guy with slick black hair and the girl from the pussy cat dolls.  She has to be the favorite to win this thing.  I am proud of Pam Anderson for giving her best, she sure is a Trooper.

Any predictions on the Sex of the Baby and Any name suggestions??

Monday Monday

I have been slacking on the post recently and I do apologize for it.  I don’t have much to say today either but wanted to give my opinion on a couple of things that are going on..

Tiger missed the cut – and he didn’t just miss it.  He wasn’t close to making the cut.  After 36 holes he was 18 shots off the leader.  Can we take anything from this?  I think when we see any athletes' performance drop this much we have to look in to it at least a little bit but If I had to bet if he wins another major with in the next 2 years – I will go with yes.   Why?  Not sure, other than the fact that he is Tiger.  McEIlroy finished the day with 6 straight 3’s to win the tournament in what appeared (i didn’t watch) to be a great final day of golf.

Weather – sucks.

Oil Spill – This thing is getting very nasty.  I really hope that BP gets the problem fixed and the damages to the coast and wildlife are not as bad as some are saying they could be…  I got a bad feeling about it though.   Question: Do you have the right to bitch about these oil companies when you do absolutely nothing to do your part in trying to reduce the consumption of fuel?  I mean, I can’t really talk bad about BP then go get in my Suburban can I?

So its Monday, bad weather, oil pumping in the Gulf at a ridiculous rate, Nashville is flooding, and I am having a hard time trying to find something positive to write about…  Everytime I look outside this is the song I hear in my head….

If that song is still playing STOP IT!!!  Wake up people, It aint that bad.  We got…  uhhh…  uhhhh…

We got the special Olympics
