Not really a lot to talk about right now on the DC hunt. Chavis' name has been the latest to be talked about but when Richt got question specifically about him he dodged the question as good as Ben Stiller did in Dodge ball. I expect that we will see Chavis get a raise pretty soon. Kirby Smart's name hasnt died yet. But!! I'm not sure what names are legit. Richt has done a very good job keeping names under wraps. Richt did say today that Garner is not going to be the DC and Garner is obviosuly cool with that. This is a good thing. CMR did say that the search may take a little longer than the first week of January. Could go on till the 2nd week.

As for the bowl picks I have been doing pretty good. if you notice my cod lock post this year is pretty much going just like last year. take a look and compare last year and this year games.

Calling out Meet Joe Black.....

You talked a ton of shit on this board throughout the season about the Gaytors, but we haven't heard one peep out of you since Alabama made Tim Superfagg cry like a little bitch on national television, gave your coach a heart attack and made him take an indefinite leave and basically donkey punched your fucking national title hopes back to Gainesville. It was easy for you to talk shit when the Gaytors were whipping up on UGAy and the other weaker SEC teams. Hell, you even told someone they sounded like a sore loser/Bama fan. Where you at Joe Black?? Step up to the plate and accept your ass whooping like a man.

Congrats to the Puppy Dogs

So UGAy wrapped up its season by beating up on Texas A&M. On one hand I am thrilled because my office (I work in Dallas) it littered with Aggie fans that try to say the Big 12 is on par with the SEC. However, it amazes me how far the pups and their fans have fallen. Not even 3 years ago, a trip to the Independence Bowl would have been looked at as an utter disappointment and a slap in the face of the "mighty" Bullfagg nation. Maybe the egos have been popped and people realize that Georgia isn't any good and nowhere near the top of the SEC. I mean, 5 losses? Or maybe this just goes back to a post made by Rusty Thomas in regards to UGAy and their fans. Arrogant, obnoxious, classless idiots. If this were any other team playing in the Independy Bowl, these same fans would be laughing and talking shit. But since it's the puppies playing, it is time to celebrate like they just won the national championship. This win will surely spark talk next spring that this is the year the Pups win it all and that UGAy is the most dominant team in the country. So with that I say congrats on a stellar victory over the mighty Texas A&M Aggies. Now go pop your collars, front tuck your khaki pants and have another bud light, douche bags.

3 BOWL COD LOCKS!!!!

Christmas is here and that means its bowl season my friends. Bowls can be a gambling nightmare. Most of the time of time there is only one or two games being played and you do your research and see where one team should actually dominate the other but it doesn’t always work out like that does it?

Last Year on the 7 games that were played before Christmas the Over hit on 5 out of 7 games.

Between Christmas and New Years Day the Under Hit 15 out of 20 games.

Then on January the 2nd when the Cotton, Liberty, and Sugar bowls played we had the Dog win outright in all 3 games.

We had 4 games with a total of 70 plus points and in all 4 games the Under hit.

And What about this… of the TOP 10 Scoring offenses in 2008 only 1 went Over and 9 went Under.

After looking at all of this here is what I have come up with..

Boise State playing TCU with a total of 55…. UNDER!!!!!!!!!!

Cinncy playing Florida with a total of 57…. UNDER!!!!!!!!

And now for the COD LOCK pick of the bowl games.. this one cant lose and you can watch it on Christmas EVE while your all boozed up and trying to put together some bullshit toy that your wife bought that has 1800 pieces and none of them are colored coded and your trying to find piece AA to put in 1B and you need to use the 3rd smallest screw in the world before you have to decal the bastard. Anyway, take the under in the Nevada/SMU game. The total is 73, remember how all 70 plus totals went under. AND you have the 5th highest scoring team in the nation, remember how 9 out of 10 highest scoring offenses went UNDER. The only thing that concerns me is that the game is played before Christmas and we did have 5 out of 7 go over last year before Jesus’ Birthday and it was in this bowl but it was Notre Dame and if your remember they had a field day out their and they did have baby Jesus on their side. TAKE THE UNDER ON CHRISTMAS EVE and after you completely screw that toy up that you were trying to put together… you can go buy you another one on me.

And the search goes on

Who the hell knows who are when anything is going to happen on the DC job. Richt said that we should have moved on something by the first week in January but maybe not, but hopefully so, but there is a chance they we want, but a good possibility that we will, but maybe not. Again, its very frustrating to not have a clue about what is going on but I do appreciate the fact that we are not publicly getting turned down. Who thought Mark Fox was going to be the next basketball coach?

I’m going to continue giving you names that are still being talked about in Athens. Keep in mind people that there is absolutely no substance to any name or any list. But these names are not just who I’m making up, I am actually hearing or reading about these names.

Kirby Smart (his name will be flying around until he actually comes out a publicly says something a lot more concrete than what he said at the award ceremony)

Brain Van Gorder (I’m not sure why he is still being talked about. I kind of threw his name out of the mix but for some reason his name is not dieing)

Ellis Johnson (this is another name that kind of want go away, and I’m kind of glad. He is not my 1st choice but defiantly some one that I wouldn’t mind falling back on)

Dick Bumpas (again, still being talked about but Gary Paterson just got a raise and if im not badly mistaken he is getting all of his assisatances raises also – but I would love this guy. I’m not sure I wouldn’t put him #1 on my list. For real, his stache alone is motivating)

Now for some guys that I have just recently heard about… instead of me telling you about them, just click on their name and you will go to their bio. Or wikipedia page

Reggie Herring -
Bob Sanders - be sure to click "more" to read his full bio.
Manny Diez - this guy may be worth taking a gamble on.

Dont Hate the BCS

Before you go off on some tangent about how much better a playoff system would be than the BCS, be careful what you wish for… The NCAA tourney that everyone just loves has 65 teams in it and every year we watch teams that you know are better than some 15 and 16 seeds that don’t get in. Now with 65 teams you would have to think that surely to god that this enough teams to determine a true National Champion, since that’s what everybody is bitching about.

Well here is my concern my friends… While I would just absolutely love a 4 or 8 team playoff I know that it wouldn’t stay that number for long. And eventually it would grow and grow to the point that it would be about a 24 team tourney. Before you tell me that would be ridiculous, before you tell me that the reason there is so many teams in the March Madness is the amount of teams there are in D1 BBall. There are 347 teams in D1 basketball and 65 make the tourney. That’s just shy of 20% of the teams. There are 120 D1 (It will always be D1 to me) teams and 20% would be 24. You see where I’m going with this? The NCAA tourney started out with 8 teams and has grown slowly to 65 and I don’t want to see College football go from 4 to 24. All you would need to do is make the top 24 and you got a chance to win the National Title. Ask yourself how lame the non-conference schedule would be then. Ask yourself how many Bama-V Tech, USC-Ohio ST, Ga-Okl St, etc… how many of those games would you see if all you needed to do was make the top 24? College football has the best regular season of any sport by far and because every single game counts. Every single Saturday something happens that closes doors for somebody and opens up doors for others. We would lose all of that just so we could have a “clear cut” national champion. As for me, the National Title has been pretty clear cut. I mean, just as clear cut as the NFL. Last year the Arizona Cardinals got their asses handed to them the last 3 games of the regular season and it didn’t matter one bit, still had a chance to play in the big one. The New England Patriots beat the New York Giants in New York and then a month and half later lost to lose the Super Bowl. Imagine if Florida and Bama got matched up again this year in a playoff National Title and Florida wins by 2 points. Would Florida be the “clear cut” National Champion? Hell NO!!!!! So if you think for a second that a playoff solves all problems then you are wrong. The only thing that gives you a clear cut Champion is a best of series and you cant have that with football.

As I said earlier that I would LOVE to see a 4 team playoff or a “plus one” kind of deal… but its not worth the chance of getting some 24 team playoff in the future. So be careful what you wish for.. once you get it, it will be here for good.

Friday

Mack Brown gets a $2 million raise? i couldnt find any recent facts but i found that in 2006 that texas had the highest revenues of any college football program but Georgia topped the list at profits. this is because we are not paying out as much as schools such as texas but we have the opportunity now to see if we (Damon Evans) wants to be a top tier school and is welling to pay top teir money. This year Georgia ranked 6th in the SEC on assistant coaching salaries with UT, LSU, and Bama being at the top.

speaking of coaches Billy Gonzales is no longer part of the Florida football staff and with multiple players leaving early for the draft... who knows but we obviously will get to see a Urban Myer that we havnt ever seen before.

KER - BEE!!! KER-BEE!!! KER-BEE!!!
on the Kirby watch we have had what appears to be more rumors than anything but at least we can still see smoke and normally you dont see this much smoke with out some fire. The good thing about this is that obviously Richt is going about this in the most professional manner that you can imagine. its nice that we haven't publicly been turned down by 3 or 4 people. Richt is doing a great job keeping this out of the rumor mills but is the reason no other names are surfacing because we dont want them to? Are we all completely selling out on the idea of Kirby or nothing? I hope not. dont get me wrong, i want the kirbster more than anyone but some of the other names that were being thrown around earlier weren't to shabby either... with the Gayterds needing to replace strong and who knows about other coaching jobs that are about to come open, im about to start to get a little nervous!

I have been told by someone who considers them self a "insider" that the Smart announcement will come by next wed. PLUS Travis Jones has already been contacted and offered a postion on Smart's staff. I have not confirmend this but i just sent Bobo a text and im waiting for his reply.

Thursday

I think im further away from knowing who the next DC is than i was before Richt fired Willie and the boys. Here are some links that may help you guys that didnt give me much help... (just click on the RED words and they will guide you to the site)

Jeff Schultz of the AJC manages to say abouslty nothing in GET SMART?

On Line Athens wrote a entire article that was summed up with the head line Smart 'happy at Alabama'

the Junkyard Blawg actually makes some good points that you may not want to read....

the Bleacher Report actually has a pretty good letter to Mark Richt that kinda of hit me in the face.

3 COD LOCKS!!!

FLORIDA –5 ½
ALABAMA 41

Last year I was very fortunate to be able to attend this ball game and I felt that it was one of the better ball games that I have ever seen live. In 4TH qt I witnessed a man take over a ball game like I have never seen before. Tebow completed passes in that quarter that I didn’t think were possible. Having said that I have been reading things this week about how dominant Florida and Tebow was last year in this very same game. What I am not reading is how less dominate Tebow has been this year after he was laid out in the Kentucky game. Lets just look at the scores alone. (NOTE: ONLY SEC GAMES WILL BE FIGURED IN ALL OF MY STATS AND AVERAGES) The Gators have scored 255 points in all 8 games this year compared to 360 last year. That’s 2 TD’s per game that they are scoring less this year than last. And on the defensive side of the ball the gators are giving up almost the exact same with 12.4 in 08 and 12 in 09. I honestly feel that this can be contributed to a couple of things. I think that when Florida played UT that Myer had a very conservative game plan and new he didn’t need to score many points to win, same against LSU. The LSU game alone Fla scored 38 points less than the year before. And in the So Carolina game the gators scored 32 points less. They are a much more conservative team this year and Vegas obviously agrees seeing that both of these teams on defense are not that much better from the year before but yet the total in the game is 2 TD’s less than last year. Alabama on offense is scoring just 1 point less per SEC contest and giving up just 2 points less than last years D from 12.6 in 08 and 10.6 in 09. And Bama is scoring 6 points less than last years team even with a heisman contender in Mark Ingram, even though I think Coffee is a better RB than Ingram.

With all this said I feel the game will come down to McClains ability to read the misdirection plays that Florida will be throwing at him. I don’t think he did a very good job against Auburn and if the Bama nation thinks that Auburn runs a high school offense and that’s the only reason why they were able to score on them then what do you call Florida’s offense when Tebow pitches it inside to a TE or Demps runs around for a reverse or when Tebow fakes a run up the middle and does a F’n jump pass? What do you call that offense Tide fans? What ever it is it works when you have talent and Florida has plenty of that. As for my pick…. I started this blog out with full intentions of picking Bama to win out right. I even called the radio show this morning and picked Bama but the more I look into this game the more I realize that Florida is a better football team and they flat out know how to win ball games. In the 4th Qt when the game is on the line, who would you pick Tebow or Mcleroy? I think Bama may keep it close, may even cover but the Gators go back to the National Title and my pick on the game is the OVER!! Something like a 27 – 23 type ball game maybe 27 – 20. either way the game goes over.

THE PANEL AS A GROUP WAS A COMPLETE TOSS UP. WE WERE ALL OVER THE BOARD.

BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP

Cincinnati –2.5 wins BIG, REALLY BIG. I mean come on, who is Pitt? Who is that guy with the porn star mustache on their side lines that calls himself a coach. I know with all the hype around Kelly going to Notre Dame everyone thinks it’s a distraction but I can assure you that he has this team ready and Cinncy wins by double digits as a small favorite.

PAC 10 - 7 point dog that wins out right Washington beats Cal out right as a 7 point dog. With Best out Cal has shown that they cant do anything, take the Huskies and win BIG!!

Def. Coordinators

My list of Defensive Coordinators that I told Coach Richt to go after last night when he called me after I congratulated him for the firing. That was tough on Richt and I assured him that I didn’t suggest him do that with out a solution to the problem. So here is my solution.

(click on the name of the coach and you will go to their Bio)
1st Choice
The sexy pick is Kirby Smart. Coaching with Nick Saban and helping Alabama to one of the best Defenses in the nation is the reason why Kirby is the sexiest pick out there. BUT some people believe that Kirby is going to FSU under his Ole pal Jimbo Fisher and others believe that he isn’t planning on moving till its to go to a head coaching job. My feelings are that no coach under Saban has gone to become a head coach on his next move and FSU is in a lot more trouble than Georgia talent wise. Kirby could come into a talent infested team that was horrific last year and only move up. Plus he would be under Richt so he would get full credit for the Defense. Throw in the fact that he can hire two of his coaches and you have atleast a shot at getting him.

2nd Choice
Ellis Johnson’s name has been thrown out there a good bit and I think he would be a great fit for the Bulldogs. His contract does run through 2011 but his past shows that he will leave a program under contract. The thing I like most about him is his aggressive style and when I watched South Carolina play this year I was just amazed at how hard the defense would get after the ball on every play. Ellis is obviously not looking at becoming a head coach so he wouldn’t be just a quick fix.

3rd Choice
Im going out a limb here and looking at someone who’s name hasn’t even been mentioned. Everett Withers of North Carolina served 6 years under Jeff Fisher at Tennessee and now is serving under Butch Davis. UNC is landing big name recruits left and right and their Defensive back field had 20 picks this year with 4 being returned for TD’s. GA had 8 total.

4th Choice
If we don’t have one of the top 3 then at this point im starting to panic and I go with Charlie Harbison of Clemson. Clemson ranked 21 Nationally in Defense and at this point I really don’t know who the hell else is out there. I want to stay close to home because of recruiting and Charlie ….. Wait a damn minute, this guy finished 4th in the weak ass ACC so if we don’t land the top 3 then we are just shit of luck.

Rival Week

Before I get into my picks I would like to first say that If Head Coach Mark Richt does not fire the following people then he needs to join the ministry because he sure as hell don’t need to be coaching the Georgia Bulldogs.

FIRE!! Willie Martinez – really don’t need to explain why, just look at the points everyone puts up on us. OR look at the amount of forced turnovers. OR just watch a game and see how wide ass open the wide receivers are when they catch the ball.

FIRE!! Jon Fabris – Special Teams is a F'n joke this year. our kickoff coverage is pathetic and we have our second string QB Logan "fair catch" Gray fielding punt returns. is he the only kid smart enough to understand when to catch it and when to return it? Javar Arenas from Alabama is one of the best punt returners in the nation. Mike Dumbass Shula found him and Fla Atlantic was the only school to offer him a scholarship other than Bama. My point (which is hard to understand sometimes) is it cant be to hard to teach someone when to fair catch and when to run.

FIRE!! Clay Walker – Why is it that every year we get the “injury bug” as the Reverend Richt likes to say? Ill tell you why, because this queer isn’t getting our guys tough enough. Bring in some body that will shoot these guys up with some HGH and lets get it done.

FIRE!! The water girl. We don’t need Richt’s stupid wife on the side lines. Put her ass up in the stands with all of her adopted kids and maybe her husband will grow a set of nutts.

On Saturday night I will smile and cry at the same time. I will smile when the Dawgs finally man up and beat this group of over achievers from the ACC and I will rejoice when I watch all of those 1600 S.A.T.’s get crazy as hell and maybe say, “shit” out loud and then giggle because their gay asses feel bad for cursing. I will on the other hand shed a tear when I see Reverend Richt embrace Wille Martinez in his arms and I will then start to pray asking the good Lord, “please Oh Lord give Mark Richt the courage to fire as many people on this Georgia staff as he can and Oh Lord please help Damon Evans to threaten the Reverend Richt that if he doesn’t grow the balls to fire at least the 4 people previously mentioned that his ass will be gone with them. Thank you Lord.”

The picks that you will think were delivered after the game was played.

BONUS PICK!! BONUS PICK!! BONUS PICK!!
TAKE THE 7 POINTS THAT THE QUEERS FROM ATLANTA ARE LAYING AND WATCH THE DAWGS KEEP THIS GAME WITH IN 7 POINTS.

Arizona –3 @ Arizona State

Zona is coming off a hard double overtime loss to the Ducks of Oregon so this week should be a let down right? Next week Arizona has USC so this is a look ahead right? NO AND NO!! this is why the line is a RIDCULOUS 3. Zona has wins against ucla, Stanford, and a really tough Oregon state team and came close to beating one of the hottest teams in the Nation in Oregon. Arizona State has wins against Idaho St, Louisiana-Mon, Wash St, and Washington, that’s it… that’s the only teams they have beaten this year.. and they are only getting 3 points against a team that like the wild cats who actually had a chance to win the PAC 10 this year? Home dog in a in state rival screams take em, right? No sir re bob, not in this one my friend, not in this one.. zona is 5 and 2 against the spread in the last 7 games played @ Arizona State and last year won this game at home 31-10 as a 13 point favorite. This year Zona is better and State is worse..

Wild Cats (MEEEYAHHHOOWWWW)

Mizzo vs. Kansas

Alright MANgeno is on his way out the door and your not going to see a “win one for the gipper” because the team hates him. HATES HIM!!! The team wants his fat ass gone and he has lost complete control of this locker room. Not one player has come forth and stood up for the fat guy and what on earth makes Vegas think that this will be less than a touchdown ball game.. Mizzo is coming in on a 2 game winning streak while the gayhawks are on a 6 game losing streak (after starting 5 and 0 by the way). Its been all down hill as of late for the hawks and Mizzo comes in and takes advantage.
Mizzo –3

THE DAWGS

I got a call this morning from a douche bag that asked that I make Georgia one of my Cod Locks so that Auburn would win…. Alright, as bad as I hate to say it the Dawgs need this win to become bowl eligible and we need all the extra practice we can get for next year. Auburn beats a mediocre Ole Miss team and a couple of Bullshit Ball States and now Chizik is everybody in Auburns Facebook friend. Well maybe he well make his status Sunday morning this…”I’m sorry my team quit on me in Athens yesterday, Little Trooper tried to keep them fried up with his little towel but it didn’t work. I love Gus’s penis.” (also if you want to read where i ask if chizik was the right move, click HERE or if you want to read where i picked UK to beat Auburn outright as a double digit road Dog then click HERE)Auburn has no chance in this game after Georgia got healthy on Tenn Tech. (oh yea, had someone try and justify why Auburn gave up 31 points to Furman) The Dawgs are healthy, the Dawgs are Hungry, and the last time Auburn came between the hedges Soldier Boy was my ring tone for the same Douche Bag that asked me to pick Auburn today.

Maybe I’ll have time to get some more picks up today

No Picks from me this week

I will be hog hunting all day Saturday and it should be an adventure. The guys we are going with told me not to bring a gun….uhhh ok. Then what do I kill them with? We will be using knifes and bulldogs. WOW!! Ok, so here is what we do. We will send bay dogs to run the hog down and bay it up and then release a catch dog to go in and grab it. Then one guy goes in and grabs its back legs, flips it over, and then someone else jumps on it and stabs it in the chest. I’m sure I will have some pretty good stories for you guys soon.

Joe's Picks

I dont have much time and im getting ready for the Georgia/Florida game (which i think Georgia can win by the way and piss on you if you doubt it - what? you think that since Georgia has no running game and that Florida has the best pass defense in the country that that is supposed to mean that Georgia want be able to score? you think because every body puts up 40 points on the Dawg D that Florida shouldnt have any trouble scoring 50? is that supposed to make a shit to me? Huh? Hell No. Bottom line is that Georgia has nothing to lose. Georgia has had 2 weeks to think about just how bad they hate Florida. and Georgia has seen a Tebag fall from grace. Final Score.... i have no clue. i just hope it aint a F'in blow out. i dont think i can handle it. i really dont. BUT i do have my 2 buddies coming over to watch it and help me out. Evan Williams and Sams Cola. good buddies of mine.

As for the picks....

So Carolina's D ends will keep Crompton on the run and he throws 2 picks to keep this game way closer than 6. USC +6

Auburn plays worse in the mornings than they do at Death Valley at night, and that is pretty bad. I called for the Kentucky upset win at Auburn 2 weeks ago as a 13 point dog and tomorrow i will lay the 4 points and watch Ole Miss win by double digits. The D of Miss is to good and the O at Auburn is to bad. if you want a little parlay then throw the under in. i think its at 49. Ole Miss -4 (& under 49 on the parlay)

Reese's Picks.

HERE IS REESE AND HIS NEW FOUND LOVER SINCE, YOU KNOW.......

I’m not gonna let this blog die a slow death. My picks may suck but here they are:

Duke +7.5 @ Virginia: Cutcliff is an offensive guru and wins this game outright.

DA U -7 @ Wake: My Riley Skinner pick a couple weeks back sucked balls. That’s why I’m going with the Thugs in check and Whipple calling deep routes all day. Miami blows this one wide open.

Michigan -7@ Ilinois: Ron Zook sux, Juice Williams sux, the whole team sux. RichRod opens up a can of home grown West Virginia bred whoop ass on the fighting illini.

GT-10.5 @ Vandy: No single coach has played PJ more than Bobby Johnson (8 times). His record is 2-6 against Ole PJ. PJ gives BJ a Dirty Sanchez at half time and blows this thing wide open during a down pour.

SC +6 @ UT: No one game plans better than The Ole Ball Coach. Lane Kiffin is going to regret saying that stuff about that recruit pumping gas for a living. Ole Ball Coach breaks one off in Lane and takes his wife (Layla) home to show her how he does it Cock’s style.

(I like it Reese cup, Culpepper, Rusty, and myself all like the Dookies this weekend. Culpepper and Rusty both suggesting the money line)

Was Chizik the right move?

Right now the cyclones, the team that Chizik left, just beat Nebraska to improve their record to 5 – 3. Chizik won 5 games total in the 2 years he was there. The Cylcones beat South Dakota State and Kent State in the first 2 games and then lost their last 10 straight games. “BUT CHIZIK LEFT THEM WITH MORE TALENT THAN HE HAD!!” says defensive Auburn fan. I understand that, but are you telling me that Nebraska isn’t better this year than last year? Last year Nebraska beat Iowa State 35 – 7 and now a much improved Nebraska team lost to Iowa State 9 – 7. Last year Baylor beat Iowa State 38 – 10 and this year Iowa State handed Baylor a Homecoming lose 24 – 10. And the loses that I.S. has this year are not near as embarrassing as last year. It appeared that last years team gave up on Chizik once they were down and this years team fights to the end. Can someone tell me who the hell Paul Rhodes is? He is the coach at Iowa State. He is the guy that Iowa State hired after Auburn came after the man that they were going to fire, you know, Chizik. He was the Auburn Defensive Coordinator last year. WHAT?!?!? You mean the guy that is doing so good at Iowa state, the guy that some people are talking National Coach of the YEAR about came from Auburn?

Now lets look at this years Auburn team, started off with 5 straight wins and now they have lost 3 straight with their last one being almost hard to watch. The final score, 31 – 10, is bad. But hey, last year Tubberville got beat by LSU 26 – 21. Lets not forget that Tubberville got FIRED because his offense couldn’t produce and the Defense had lost its fight. Uhhhhh? Im confussed. Last years Auburn team gave up 30 plus points only twice. This years team has averaged giving up 32 points the last three games. Last years Auburn team put up 26 points and 320 yards against LSU, this years team put up 10 points and 193 yards. So Chizik, looks like you and Jay Jacobs need to be figuring out where to send your resumes. Like Georgia, Like Alabama, and like so many other schools, after you fire a decent coach, you might want to make damn sure you get some one better. if not, then you are in for a bad 5 years.

Looks like Auburns next hire needs to be Jamie Pollard. He is the AD at Iowa State. Looks like he is one step ahead of the Tigers.

Pick from John S

We all like a good easy winner in the middle of the week right? Well all of us gamblers at least, the bookies probably won't pick up the phone b/c they know what is gonna happen. That's right, they are gonna get SLAYED! Not much write up time so just take East Carolina tonight, lay the points and watch Pinkney (QB for ECU for the past 8 years) deliver a winner to your doorsteps.

You can all say thank you tomorrow.

Gotta give props.....

to the Tennessee Volunteers. Even though their record doesn't show it, this is a team on the rise. Both Florida and Alabama were lucky to walk away with wins against this team. I am not going to make any excuses for the Tide, but their offense has looked pretty bad for the past few weeks and looked absolutely terrible this past weekend. That being said, the Volunteer defense was stout and came to play. Without the Tide defense and the immovable Mount Cody, the season would have been over this past weekend. I honestly believe that Tennessee is just a few playmakers away from being scary good.

Taking the Chalk

Don’t have much time this week for my picks and since Ga is off (hopefully getting ready for Fla) I hadn’t spent much time on here.

As for my picks, short and sweet –

Ga Tech and my man Paul Johnson run up and down the field on Virgina. Virgina is getting a little to much respect with only 3 straight wins over UNC, Indiana, and Maryland. Lets not forget who these teams are. UNC being the only one of the bunch I will even give a little bit of props to came in after a disappointing lose to GT and I think took the Cavaliers a little to lightly. We don’t have to worry about the Jackets making the same mistake. Remember, this team is the same team that lost to William and Mary in the opener.

Lay the points, Tech –5 ½

Bama’s Defense is just scary. They make good QB’s look bad and they will make a bad QB look really bad. Crompton throws 2 picks and UT doesn’t move the ball enough to keep in with in the 15. FYI, I will be at this game and should have a good story when I get back.

TCU horny frogs. I love this team. I love the fact that they get RB’s and move them to LB to have a defense that is just way faster than any other D that the teams out west see. Lets not forget that the last time BYU saw some speed on D they looked really bad (see FSU) TCU minus the 2

Everyday I'm Hustlin...

Gamecocks +17.5 vs Crimson Tide

After a dominant defensive showing last week against highly overated Ole Miss, I look for the Crimson Tide to come out and look to make a statement offensively against an overmatched Gamecock team.....but they won't cover 17.5 points. If last week proved anything, it's that you don't have to crush a team to look good to the pollsters. Nick Saban never publicly speaks about the rankings, but he knows that Bama is sitting pretty and all they need to do is win out for a rematch with Florida. Spurrier has his team believing and playing very well, but the Bama defense will be too much for Garcia to handle. It will be a close game in the first half. I say the Tide by 14.

Oklahoma -3 vs Texas

Statement game. Bottom line, Texas needs a big win and a big offensive showing. They dropped in the polls last week despite winning by a comfortable margin and being undefeated this season. Most people argue that if Sam Bradford hadn't been hurt, Oklahoma might still be undefeated. I say that is bullshit. The defense wasn't hurt against BYU. If anything, that game showed some weaknesses in the OU secondary and I look for Colt McCoy to take advantage. If Texas can protect him and give him time in the backfield, this game could get ugly. Texas by a touchdown.
